  1. nah.. dont see it. He will get one more year with Rogers since the whole O is build for Rogers to succeed with OC and HC. Now if Rogers sucks/ hurt again in 24.. their whole FO is done.
  2. my priorities for both FA and draft are: 1A - Oline (tackles, guards, vending machines, etc.) pretty much anything thats better than what we have now. I would actually try to shore up oline in FA - you have the highest chance of these players producing after big contracts. 1B - Top flight receiver (draft) tall, big, fast. Make Dotson the slot guy, (Terry a perfect 1B but cut or trade after 2023 season if the top guy balls out, if not cut after 24) 2A - CB - Fuller is gone, Forbes sucks - need 2 solid additions. 2B - DE - One top flight in the draft should be sufficient Our DE depth is decent and these guys can be resigned on the cheap 2B. LB - need a true upgrade.. should be ablet to find in either draft or fa 3. TE - Thomas has lost a step and not worth the contract. I would want to see what the other can do with better coaching.. but an upgrade would be nice. 4. RB - Gibson is done - Robinson is solid.. need a 3rd down, fast change of pace RB
  3. Don't forget that you're not just getting a higher pick in the first round... its a higher pick for every round in the draft. ( yes its common sense, but many forget) so while there are no guarantees that we would hit on the higher 1st rd pick you still have a higher chance of hitting on more pics with a higher selection in each rd or getting more in trades of those pics.
  4. ... or it could be that he had very little incentive to play hurt for this sh!t show of an organization and since he was franchised the last 2 years (guaranteed salary) and didnt really want to be here.. he milked every inj here for its max time. cant really blame him.
  5. how's is firing someone for being terrible at his job scapegoating? i cant believe we still have so many Ron and JDR apologists.. this truly is the dumbest fansbase in the NFL
  6. I bet Harris has a wink/ nod agreement with Rivera to let him coach out the rest of the year to save some dignity, and if so Rivera will retire on his own and save harris a few mil in salary
  7. of course he does... why else would you trade both of your DEs who also happened to be the better players on this team? it benefits him in multiple ways: 1. more draft choices to rebuild the team and more cap space 2. more lucrative for a good GM/ Coach to join 3. if Wash finishes with a bad record this year.. next year with a new system/ GM/ coach it will be easy to finish with a much better record. so Harris and new FO look good by default 4. Makes moving on from Ron's FO pretty easy in public opinion (not that its really necessary since Rons over all incompetence nailed the coffin shut for himself) If the Offence and Howell look legitimate the rest of the year, but we lose most of the games its a win-win for both owner and fans. This team can be turned around in one season
  8. Ron isn't going anywhere this season and he is a 100% gone after the season. Harris wants the team to tank so they can get the highest possible pics, incompetence of Riverra is the best way to achieve that goal.
  9. Ron's roster building philosophy " Its not about skill!.. its about position flex!.. who else has a safety who could also play center in a pinch?!"
  10. I am actually a bit with Zcommander on this.. I am not going to say that Howell is already better than Josh Allen... but by the end of their careers i would not be surprised if Howell has the better outcome. 1. At this point the sample size for Howell is waaay too small... so claiming him to be better than Allen is crazy.... but 2. Allen has all the physical tools you would ever want in a QB. Tall, big, fast, rocket arm, can make every throw... the one intangible he seems to be missing is between the ears. Analysts say that "well he is just a gunslinger and you expect int that from gunslingers" yeah.. thats bs,..he throws some ugly interceptions in the worst possible time. And its not like he is playing with scrubs around him. You know who else had all the physical tools and talent but had issues between the ears.. Wentz. Where is he now? This is that one intangible that Howell has in spades... on top of good arm and good mobility Burrows is a freaking stud... i would trade this whole team for Burrows and just have him throw passes to himself.
  11. The only scenario where I would be ok with Bill here is: 1. We hire a GM who has control of the team, draft and player acquisition 2. GM has a major say in the OC hire. 3. Bill mostly focuses on the D side (he is still a stud D coach)
  12. JDR IS a dinosaur, inept as a D coordinator and a bum In 4 years with him as a D coordinator we have had a good D for exactly half a season (2nd half of 2022) 4 years in the same system, 4 years with mostly same personnel, 4 years of high pics thrown away on crappy players ... and 4 years of mostly atrocious D. Only a moron like Rivera can keep an underperforming loser like that around.
  13. I am pissed at the dumb Browns for not trading for Brisset. I think a 5th rd pick would have done it. Now we are stuck with a guy we dont need and will lose for nothing next year and Browns with #1 D and a pretty solid team will go nowhere with their current QB stable of nobodies
  14. Does EB get some credit for Sams development.... sure... some. But his job is not "QB Developer" " you play, to win, the game!" As an OC i see a lot of short comings. 1. I have no doubt he was the driving factor in Wash signing Willie - when pretty much everyone knew he sucked except for one game. 2. His boneheadedly slow adjustment to play-calling and O line switch. WTF does it take 9 weeks to see that Oline as whole is terrible, and especially center and guard suck when you have replacements on the roster? 3. The amount of sacks Sam took is at least half on EB... again because he wouldn't adjust his playcalling He is actually lucky that Sam has a short memory and seems unshakable.. of he had a bit more of Wentz in him, Briset would already be starting. Just because he decided to call 80% passes is not enough to give him full credit, especially when taking all the other OC failures in to account
  15. no way EB is getting a HC job after this year. I am not even that sure that he is a good O coordinator
  16. D line performance is what everyone was afraid of and the reason i wanted to trade Payne..... nobody wants to talk about it but... as soon as he got paid he went back to his inconsistent self, giving partial effort and taking plays off. Allen seems to be in a similar boat, maybe there is an inj issue we dont know about but Dline this year has been subpar
  17. its pretty interesting with what's happening now... we have never had a good enough passing game to truly understand the value and overall capabilities of our WRs so this season is a great learning tool and confirmation because we tend to overate our players, what i am seeing is: 1. Terry is very good, not great. He will likely never be great but a very good 1B 2. Jahan is a Good WR, not very good (at least not yet) - good complimentary piece 2A/ 1C 3. Samuels is good to very good with specific game planning.. but his production can be easily replaced and he is gone after this season anyway. 4. A great TE in EB system will be worth his weight in Gold. Thomas is ok/good but old and inj prone. TE upgrade is a must Upgrade at WR in the next draft should absolutely be on the table.. but only if the GM thinks he can be a true 1A This could push other WRs down the board and allow us to have a truly elite group. Also, it gives us options when Terrys contract expires to let him walk and/ or sign or let Doctson walk.
  18. boom! Hey Ron.. give me a call, i am open for work.
  19. i don't see it.. Bill would want complete control of player personnel .. something that is a weakness for him. Now if agrees to work for a GM who has player acquisition control.. sign me up!
  20. No way Pats put up 34... they have no WRs left.. even against this sh!tty D. This might be the game to start Forbes... if he can't look competent against pats Wrs.. they might as well demote him to water boy
  21. I honestly don't get the narrative that the new HC will automatically want to bring in his own QB. Howell has already shown that he can play at this level and be successful. At worst he is 2nd half of the league starting QB caliber. Any new HC will look at his tape and see him as a potential starter.. now he might have to compete for a job next year but he will get his shot unless: we tank badly and draft in top 5 - you have to take a QB at that point. we trade a bunch of capital to get in to the top 3pics to draft a QB - this is less likely if we finish with 6+ wins and since Howell has shown enough to be given another year. even if one the above things happen - which i doubt since this team has a lot of holes... -Howell could still start as the new qb gets acclimated to the NFL -having Howell as backup at <1mil a year is a deal.. and i am sure we will get a number of offers for him. As a HC having a potential starting QB on the team for almost nothing .. and yet having the option to go in any direction when it comes to a QB is scenarios most coaches dream about.
  22. lol.. yes because that has happened how many time with Ex- washington players? These guys are overrated.. Both sweat and young are basically Orakpo... good pass rushers that will average 6-10 sacks a year, but will be paid top of the market money. Myles Garret they are not.
  23. lol to all the hair puller... don't worry! our D will be just as bad with Henry and Toohill
