  1. I was here, on this board. Plenty of people hated Kyle. Much of the media did too. Blamed him for how things went with RG3. Said he was a nepo hire (even though he was awesome in Houston). A good chunk, if not majority of fans, wanted him and Mike gone. The whole thing was a mess so I kinda get it. The media though... they killed him and now act like it never happened.
  2. Yep. And some people just aren't that quick on their feet and say dumb things even though they're not dumb at all. If I'm Ron, I just stop saying much period.
  3. Turner drove me crazy this year, but I won't be surprised if he turns out to be a stud OC somewhere else down the line. Just because... Washington. Most fans literally couldn't wait to get rid of Kyle Shanahan. It's hard to know what to make of anything when it comes to this franchise.
  4. Pass on Bienemy. Seems like the kind of hire that would blow up in our faces. The Greg Olson stuff makes sense. I don't want Carr, but I bet Ron does and Olson was his OC when he put up stats.
  5. Ron seems like a great person, but he has said a lot of iffy stuff this year.
  6. Ron said he wants to run the ball two times for every pass. So I guess some OC's from the 1980s should plug in their dot-matrix printers and get those resumes sent in.
  7. I have my issues with Rivera, but it's clear he is not going to rush to extend Chase and that Chase has to earn it. Based on what I've seen since the second half of his rookie year, I'd say he has a long way to go before you break the bank for him when his contract is up. Right now, Chase's future should not come in to play at all in regards to paying Payne, who has 100 percent earned a big deal.
  8. Turner fired. The OC hire is going to be telling. If they really think they can get someone like Carr (kill me), they will want an OC the QB of their choice has experience with.
  9. He's just a guy right now. So much to prove. Don't let Payne walk because you think you want to extend CY -- that would be nuts.
  10. Fine with firing Turner. But have NO faith in Ron bringing in a good replacement. Hey, maybe it will be Jay Gruden with Derek Carr. JK -- sorta. Also, I'm old enough to remember when the fans and the media couldn't wait to get rid of Kyle Shanahan, so I have no idea what to think of anything when it comes to our team. Please sell, Dan.
  11. Ron is a class act, but I think Jay did a better job with far less. And had no personnel power at all. And for all his faults, he definitely would have known the playoff implications of yesterday's game!
  12. Wentz laid a colossal egg. He's done. Move on, period. The ownership stuff will make things tricky. Odds are Rivera is lame duck in middle of transition, which mean no real money to spend. Then again, does anyone have faith in us doing well with another retread in this scheme, which apparently among it's other excellent qualities, is hard to learn? I think we are looking at Taylor back on a two year modest deal competing with Howell and maybe another rookie. Derek Carr would make me throw up.
  13. Taylor is a great story. But it's too hard to score with him, especially with the weapons we have. I get the move. Ya gotta see what you have in Carson, for better or worse. I am surprisingly optimistic. My two cents: If Wentz plays decent to good, he's coming back next year at 28 mil. Howell will be the backup. The time will let Taylor move on. If Wentz stinks, I have no idea what happens. Whoever you bring in will be in year one of an offense. That's why Ron so desperately wants Carson to do well.
  14. Hope you're right. I think they're afraid to start Wentz against the 49ers because he'd get killed. But if comes in after Taylor stinks, makes it a lot easier to start Wentz the last two. If Ron's gut tells him Wentz should be playing, then do it. All the dancing around the past few weeks isn't leadership. And I like Ron.
  15. If they want to start Wentz, just do it. I don't get the approach - it just puts more pressure on the guy who is starting. At this point, it's like Ron wants Taylor to do so bad he can go "you see, I had no choice" and not lose the locker room. Lame.
  16. Howell looked competent in preseason. Wilson looks like the biggest bust since JaMarcus. Willis can't throw period. Got the GM fired.
  17. Scouts and blogger boys loved Wilson. He is AWFUL. Malik Willis might be worse. Guess what? Crazy throws at pro days don't mean anything.
  18. Come on, Bezos, offer Little Danny an extra billion to show up and get pelted on "seat cushion" day before he goes away FOREVER.
  19. This sounds a lot like Michael Lombardi. Great on podcasts. Was not a great FO guy. Also, big ESPN article today on potential HC openings... mentioned Turner as someone who has impressed those around the league this year. Just saying... there are a ton of opinions out there.
  20. Remember, Dan has one amazing talent -- his ability to find a new low. Backing out of a sale would not surprise me. Clearly he doesn't want to sell. The team is everything to him. But then what? That is the question. By all reports, he doesn't have the money to pay back the loan he took to buy out his previous minority partners, and I can't imagine how he would get a stadium built. Do the other owners have the stones to vote him out? It doesn't really look like it. And Goodell seems bizarrely scared by him. So what would happen?
  21. He can't afford the team because of the debt he took on. So he needs a minority partner to help with that. But who would be willing to become this partner? And even if he could find someone, the league has to approve them. Why on earth would they do that? And even if they did for some reason, what state is going to build Dan a stadium? He's done. It's just a matter of how long it takes for him to accept this.
  22. Proud Gonzaga high Graduate. Amazing we got a Heisman winner!
