  1. Never had the privilege of watching him play as he was before my time, but his Hall of Fame numbers speak for themselves. Sincere condolences to his family and all who knew him 😔
  2. Tom Brady's career will never be matched. I don't think even Burrow could accomplish half of what Brady has accomplished. Point blank, Tom Brady's career is not supposed to happen in the NFL. Nobody is supposed to be that good for that long. Even the greats of the past before free-agency couldn't come close. Much like our Joe Gibbs. Nobody will ever accomplish what he accomplished as a Coach again. 3 Super Bowl wins with 3 different starting QB's and RB's. Not supposed to happen.
  3. I'm pulling for the Bengals, those poor fans have suffered long enough. If they can do it there is hope again for all of us.
  4. Thanks for promoting me to Commander @TK I am all in on the new brand because what the hell else am I going to do? #HTTC
  5. If the city is now prepared to let them build a complex back at RFK it’s a no brainer…you go back to the hallowed ground of RFK. For me, there is no better place for them to be. If not there National Harbor is the obvious next best.
  6. I was just a few months shy of 17 when this team won it all. One of my best friends threw a Super Bowl party at his house. Great memories. Here are a few things I have from that season. I have two of the commemorative Coke cans, both unopened. I bought all three of the Super Bowl Championship plaques off of Ebay for $100 about 10 years ago. The water bottle was a Burger King promotional. Bought this from an EBay store called Green Bay Plaquers. They have several Redskins related plaques in their store. I have bought nearly all of them over the years. Family company and they produce them.
  7. For me it’s back in D.C, National Harbor, or Alexandria. I would be very disappointed if they move it anywhere else. There is no reason why one of those 3 can’t work. They are Washingtons team and they need to be either in the city or in its shadows. An hour left of the city would suck ass.
  8. I preface this with the full knowledge that breaking down college talent for the draft definitely isn't my forte. I'm not really that kind of fan, but I noticed that Daniel Jeremiah has us taking Matt Corral. As I watch the kid's youtube highlights he seems to take a TON of hits. I have visions of RG3 and him getting broke up in no time. No sliding, just pushing through piles of defenders. He's tough, but if he tries this in the NFL he won't last a game or two. My 2 cents
  9. Season sweep of the Football Giants brings a HUGE smile to my face. Good to end the season on a high note. Would rather be in the playoffs but they did the only thing they could do today.
  10. The bad thing is when Coach Gibbs was here he was also coaching his players in financial responsibility. What do you do when you hand a bunch of people that kind of cash when they have never had it before? If you don’t know any better or only live in the moment you with blow through it quick. I’m the type where if I had that kind of money you would never know. I’m a man of simple tastes. I would have a few toys and a nice house, but nothing that doesn’t look like I did anything other than invest my savings wisely. Live largely on the interest and take care of my people.
  11. (in Forrest Gump voice) Happy New Year Lt. Dan!!!!! Watching this live was quite possibly the most embarrassed I have ever been as a Washington fan. Right up there with the swinging-gate.
  12. “I didn’t come here to save Rambo from you…I came here to save you from him” WFT shocks the world on this one. We score 27 Dallas scores 24 We learned something from the last game and it shows in this one.
  13. Whatever you have been dealing with...I hope things continue to look up for you. I also hope you get to see a playoff win. 👍
  14. I think today the weak Attendance was probably ticket cost combined with the other issues that we talk about in other threads. Asking people to come off over 200 a seat less than three weeks out from Christmas (even if it is Dallas) is a lot to expect...unless you are a Dallas fan in the DMV and this is your one chance to see your team locally this year. I'm working a schedule right now that made going today impossible, but there is no way I was going to shell out that kind of cash anyhow. I would love to go to every single home game, but I'm at the head of a family of 5 and have a fixed budget. I simply can't afford to pay those kind of prices.
  15. Best tailgate, best crowd, best after game party. Fed Ex was rocking that night. Most of the Cowboys fans left at halftime. They knew it was over.
  16. Washington 27 Dallas 20 I think we get a defensive score in this game that makes the difference.
  17. Yup I am missing Foles, I had accidentally added Brees twice and couldn’t remember the other one. Foles-88th Overall, 2nd stint with team that drafted him.
  18. Brady and his ridiculous career do crazy things to the stats. Remove him from the equation, or count his wins in the players drafted outside of the first round and it gets even crazier.
  19. I did some homework, and came up with some stats to back up the claims that I make all the time. The claim that draft position has no bearing on landing a Super Bowl winning, franchise QB. Free Agency began on March 1st, 1993. In the 28 completed seasons since that time, the following people have been the winning QB in the Super Bowl. For multiple Super Bowl wins, exactly (6) Quarterbacks have been able to do that (since the start of Free Agency). Here they are and their draft positions. Troy Aikman (2) 1st Overall (1st SB win was pre-free agency) John Elway (2) 1st Overall Ben Roethlisberger (2) 11th Overall Eli Manning (2) 1st Overall Peyton Manning (2) 1st Overall Tom Brady (7) 199th Overall Now here are those that have only (1) Super Bowl Championship and their draft positions... Steve Young – Supplemental Draft 1st Pick (Won Super Bowl with 3rd Team, 2nd NFL Team) Brett Favre – 33rd Overall (Won Super Bowl with 2nd Team) Kurt Warner – Undrafted (Won Super Bowl with 4th Team, 2nd NFL Team) Trent Dilfer – 6th Overall (Won Super Bowl with 2nd Team, after 6 seasons with the team that drafted him) Brad Johnson – 227th Overall (Won Super Bowl with 4th Team, 3rd NFL Team) Drew Brees - 32nd Overall (Won Super Bowl with 2nd Team) Aaron Rodgers – 24th Overall (Won Super Bowl with only team) Joe Flacco – 18th Overall (Won Super Bowl with 1st team) Russell Wilson – 75th Overall (Won Super Bowl with only team) Patrick Mahomes – 10th Overall (Won Super Bowl with only team) …and Nick Foles-88th Overall, 2nd stint with team that drafted him. Only 4 QB's were taken 1st overall in the draft and won more than one Super Bowl in the free-agency era. One guy who was taken 199th Overall has won 7. The rest have won 1 each, with the highest draft position of those being 6th and the lowest being undrafted. The guy who was 6th didn't even win with the team that drafted him. Of all those guys, only 4 of them were drafted 1st overall. None were drafted 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th. Most were drafted in the lower end of the 1st round or well below. Several of those guys didn't even win with the team that had drafted them. Bottom Line, you don't need a very high draft pick to land a Super Bowl winning QB, nor does reality show that as even worthy of real consideration in winning a Super Bowl. So in essence, stop worrying about our draft position as it relates to a "franchise" QB and enjoy the games.
  20. I would absolutely take one and done. The messiah that leads you to multiple Super Bowl wins while the rest of the team turns over repeatedly is largely a myth. The modern day game is not built for that kind of sustained success. Brady is not only the greatest of all time he is an outlier. What he has done you are not supposed to do in the modern NFL. Free Agency was meant to kill the dynasties of the past and spread the wealth. For the most part, that is what it has done. Winning a single Super Bowl is no small feat.
  21. I've seen enough to know that you don't **** with team chemistry when you find it. The team loves Taylor. Having the backing of the other 52 guys on the team is immeasurable. He appears to be bringing out the best in everyone around him and in a team sport like this you can't argue with the results. For me, the intangibles are always more important. Taylor has them.
