  1. I agree, but Wentz is not who he says he is if this pick causes him to stress out. Wentz should only be concerning himself with being as good Wentz can be, and the rest will take care of itself. Coach has told him he is the #1 guy, so it's up to him to respond accordingly. I also agree that starting Rookie QB's on Day #1 seems like a high risk gamble. Per capita very few are ever ready for that responsibility, and there doesn't ever seem to be a clear cut reason why they are when others are not. The stars have to align in every way and it's a crap shoot.
  2. I think if he continues to own the team, the stadium will be built on the 200 acres of land he already owns at the Fed Ex Field site. If for no other reason than nobody else will give him a better financial option. Maryland wants to build infrastructure around the stadium as well, and develop the area in a way that it should have been done in 1997. Until I see some real movement on a site in D.C. or Virginia, I will continue to believe the new stadium will be right next to the old one in Landover. I'd say the odds right now are overwhelming that they stay right where they are.
  3. He has the pull and cash to get it back in the city at RFK. My money would be on that site.
  4. If he is, I'm pretty certain Jeff Bezos will be the buyer. If Bezos buys the team, I don't think he's moving them anywhere.
  5. Also from the same link it sounds like the agreement made with P.G. County and the State of Maryland was just that they would play there for 30 years. From 2007 https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2007/jan/12/20070112-125237-5424r/ Here is a Baltimore Sun article from 1997 that explains how the stadium was financed, and also a bit about the State paying for M&T Bank Stadium for the Ravens. Kind of cool.. https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1997-09-14-1997257125-story.html
  6. He owns 200 acres in and around the site. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/where-will-redskins-build-new-stadium-early-signs-point-to-current-fedex-site/2020/02/16/65375460-4eb0-11ea-bf44-f5043eb3918a_story.html
  7. https://wtop.com/maryland/2022/04/maryland-senate-gives-preliminary-approval-to-baltimore-stadium-upgrades-prince-georges-revitalization-effort/ My betting money is on we end up in a new stadium at the Fed Ex Field site. Also, and this is just my opinion seems like fastest way to get this done at this point. Snyder already owns the land there.
  8. Nobody should be checking out that soon. Very very sad
  9. THIS Never misunderstand me, I’m no fan of his ownership and the decisions he has made. However, Dan Snyder is the current owner of my team, and that is the way it is until I see LEGIT evidence the NFL is moving to oust him. I’ve never met the man so I don’t know what he is like personally. Maybe he is everything they say he is and more. Maybe he isn’t.
  10. Zero I've enjoyed almost every conversation I've ever had on this forum. Even when I've strongly disagreed...which has been often, lol. Joining Extremeskins in February 2004 was my first foray (and for the most part my only foray) into internet message boards. I was so excited about Joe GIbbs returning that I had to find a place to talk with other like-minded people. A lot has happened in the last 18 years.
  11. I must say I've always been a fan of Will Smith. What disappointed me most about this incident was his lack of self-control. There is a time and a place, and that wasn't the time or the place. He should have known better. I have also enjoyed Chris Rock's comedy over the years, and his poise and control in that moment was pretty impressive. As for Will and Jada, my prediction (a fairly easy prediction to make) is that their "marriage" ends badly in a few years. If he felt he had to do this to "impress" or "defend" her they are already in a pretty poor place. Based on what we know of their relationship it's definitely not a good marriage in any definition I would apply.
  12. “Can I get a M&M McFlu…” “…sorry the machines broke” ”Can I get a chocolate milksh…” ”sorry the machine is down” “Can I get a hit fudge sun… ”….we are out” 😄
  13. The fans will come to love him If Wentz helps produce wins here on a consistent basis. I hope he's our guy for 10 years and we win a Lombardi or two with him. There is nobody more popular in the DMV than the QB of this team when the team is winning.
  14. Looks to me like this time they want to do it right. The first time was a rush job so JKC could get it done before he passed. I don't think much thought was really put into the place other than building it big, and getting it done quickly. Times were different then. Believe it or not, there was a time when Fed Ex Field was selling out on a regular basis. This team was setting single game attendance records in those days. In 1997 a stadium itself was still enough of a draw. We did always have an element of the other team's fans there, but it was largely Redskins fans for the first 10 years. Things really started trending downhill after Joe Gibbs retired for the second time. A big part of the problem was extremely inconsistent results, combined with HD television coverage. HDTV really started to become a thing around 2005, and I don't think that it's influence on NFL gameday attendance can be understated. Sitting in front of the 70" on gameday is far better than a nosebleed seat, and far less expensive.
  15. For clarification, I would also be fine with a Wolf or a Red Wolf mascot. I think it would be a cool way of trying to give the fans a consolation prize. Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain it won't be taken that way at all.
  16. You poor poor man. 😄 For me, the way I'm leaning these days is a dog or maybe a hog. In the early years of the team they had a dog mascot named "The Dutchess." I think that would be the best at this point and a cool nod to the distant past and origins of the franchise. Here is The Dutchess with the 1942 Championship team.
  17. Definitely a nod to RFK and the old Cap Centre. Hard to believe that building was demolished 20 years ago. 😲
  18. That’s how the Capitol Centre looked. I get nostalgic just thinking about it lol
  19. Yes it does, definitely a nod to the Cap Centre. I wouldn't be so sure it's going to Virginia, this could be a game changer. The team owns the land at Fed Ex. The location hasn't been as much of the problem, as the stadium and the lack of other options for entertainment. Putting everything there in one location, with amenities, and other draws could be the way to go. Especially if they add convenient metro access. If not RFK, this or National Harbor is the way to go.
  20. I would take a new entertainment complex in Landover over a new complex 35 miles West of D.C. every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  21. The location is not the problem as much as it is the stadium. I would take a new modern stadium on that site before one 35 miles west. No question. I would rather them be in D.C. before either.
  22. There is no way this is how Putin saw this invasion unfolding. Even if he takes the cities he will not hold them without significant cost. If they think they are struggling now wait until the insurgency begins.
  23. I hear this all the time, but do people really believe this to be the case? I mean what evidence is there that "nobody" wants to work with Dan? I haven't heard D.C, Maryland, or Virginia claim that they "don't want to deal with Dan Snyder." I don't want this to be taken as me defending Dan. I absolutely get the dislike for him, but the local jurisdictions "not wanting to work with him" sounds like hyperbole to me. Money talks, and there is a lot of money to be made for having an NFL team. Even if that team is owned by Dan Snyder. Seems to me the obstacle they had to overcome was the name. Now both Maryland and D.C. appear to be back in play.
  24. My current order of preference based on the known possibilities... 1.) Commanders Stadium at RFK (sponsored by?) (This is far and away my #1) 2.) Somewhere else in D.C. 3.) National Harbor (in or very close to) 3.) Virginia side of Woodrow Wilson bridge. Within a few miles of the City at most. 4.) Rebuild at Fed Ex with a much better design and additional infrastructure. 52.) In or around Dulles or similar distance from the City.
