  1. I love Winfield. He was probably neck and neck with Bates as the best FS in the league this year. Legit blue chip All Pro caliber player. That play you highlighted was all heart and him making up for Dean slacking after the catch. That play is all leadership
  2. The guy is a leader too. Much needed on the defensive side of the ball as my guess is a lot of guys have tuned Jon out.
  3. Also the best FA green dot LBs, Luvu and Al Shaair, are more proven in the 3-4 vs 4-3
  4. We are almost guaranteed a first round caliber tackle prospect at #36 and can get another guy at #40 if we choose to do that
  5. If Iโ€™m trying to solve the LG spot in FA, Iโ€™d rather go for Onwenu as he has shown he can play both RT and guard well. Gives a bit more flexibility in the draft to go for the best OL in the 2nd round
  6. The Saints players overruling Dennis Allen and running a play anyway for Williams shows how much command he has of that locker room. Despite the 9-8 season and Carr balling out in the final third of the season, there is a chance Dennis Allen is let go
  7. I think that the depth and instant success of many in the CB class has pushed many to write Forbes off quickly. Ultimately, he finishes with the same PFF rating as Deonte Banks and showed improvement in the 2nd half of the year vs the 1st half. I am optimistic he can get to #2 corner level production with an offseason of work on his technique and with a good secondary coach/scheme.
  8. Their DC is a young under the radar stud who did an impressive job this year. He is a guy who the next HC should interview for the DC gig assuming that guys is not Macdonald Their roster is also prime for plundering as a new staff is not going to be loyal to any of those guys. I would definitely inquire about Pitts, London, Landman and Robinson
  9. This has been discussed a bit but this team is better fit for a 3-4 scheme moving forward given the current talent and what the FA market looks like. FA is filled with good 3-4 OLB types like Huff, Greenard, Epenesa etc who may be too light to be 4-3 DEs
  10. More QBs who wouldโ€™ve gone Day 2 in the past are now falling to Day 3 and this class is loaded even in the third tier. Iโ€™d still keep Sam though as he has shown he can play
  11. The PFF guys called out Bryce Huff as a guy we should target in FA in that "rebuilding the Commanders" episode they did. He finishes the season with 10 sacks after getting 2 more today. I bet he is going to be available because the Jets have taken edge rushers back to back in the first round and probably did not expect Huff to blow up the way he did
  12. With what we have heard, she is not being considered for the GM job. She is being thought of as a EVP of Football Ops or President of Football Ops who the GM would be a peer with or report to. This is the type of structure that has been taking over the NBA and MLB in recent years. A good example is our Wizards. Michael Winger is the President who oversees the operation and has a legal/cap background. The GM is Will Dawkins who is more the personnel guy.
  13. This is a big plus but what interests me as much about her is that she has relationships with so many execs across front offices in her current role with the league. She is going to have a good read on every GM in the league and she could be the person who could help lead trade conversations and negotiate with the other side
  14. I like the idea of bringing someone like an Aponte in to manage the cap and operations. It allows your GM to be more the head of personnel vs having to excel at so many different things. Given the role he now plays for the 9ers, I feel Peters is multidimensional. I, however, have questions about Hortiz and what he is able to take on at a high level outside of personnel.
  15. A veteran QB is not teaching a rookie footwork and mechanics. That is what a QB coach and assistant QB coach do.
  16. How are you equating a complete scrub like Zach Wilson to Sam Howell???
  17. Iโ€™ve heard Freddie Kitchensโ€™ name come up a lot. Why???? He is a bum who canโ€™t bet a fulltime OC gig in this league
  18. Gettleman was interested in hiring Ron too. He picked here because he had personnel control
  19. Is he going to tell the GM exactly who he needs to draft? No. Will the plan presented to him by GM candidates make a difference in who he hires? Yes That is how you put your thumb on the scale as a โ€œhands offโ€ owner
  20. @Curtisp5286 This is a very different ballgame with this team than the 6ers and Devils. He and Blitzer had to raise much smaller amounts of LP capital for those two teams so they had flexibility to take the long term approach because their capital made up most of the equity. In the case of this team, he owns just 30% and raised from people like Eric Schmidt and Santo Domingo who probably could care less about the team and more about the return. Iโ€™m sure the financial return is back end weighted but you donโ€™t want to miss your pro forma projections to investors this early. If he does, that will affect his primary businesses in the financial world
