Not only that but it feels like teams are consistently finding starting caliber corners in the 2nd and 3rd and beyond these days

I would think he has a great shot at the NO gig after letting Carmichael go. They have talked about a role for Gruden next year to work with Carr (doesn’t seem like it is the OC role). Carr absolutely cooked in Oakland w Olson as his playcaller

Yep. Regardless of QB, I am excited to see how a mind like Ben Johnson can utilize him next season. -
Gruden/RG3 feud on social media

I don’t get it. Was Gruden a great leader? No. Was he a good X’s and O’s guy who put QBs in a position to succeed? Yes. Kirk got where he got to under Jay and McVay. Furthermore, on the other end of the spectrum, this team actually won games with Josh Johnson and got almost got a Josh Johnson led team with a group of backup OLs and a bad D to the playoffs in 2018 -
Given how complicated offenses have gotten since then, I think it is even harder for a rookie to be a green dot LB day 1 (as the last moronic staff tried to do w Jamin). A veteran who has been around has become even more important. As examples, in this FA class, Al Shaair was the 3rd LB in SF and learned over 4 years before becoming the green dot in TN this past year. Similarly, Luvu just earned the green dot this year after years in the league as a special teamer in NYJ first.

Yes. Luvu is the best off ball LB in FA and he wore the green dot this season in Carolina.

Yep. On JPJ, if they take him, I don’t like him as a rookie center. I believe he has only a year of experience in the role if I’m not mistaken. I do like your idea of drafting him t be a guard and eventually move him to center if there is a need. I’d hope, given the intellect needed to play center, he can pick up the NFL nuances of playing guard relatively quickly and not struggle like many of the rookie IOLs taken round 2 this year

Welcome to the Commanders Emmanuel Forbes CB Mississippi State

He is not getting cut. He is guaranteed his contract for 4 years. Worst case, he is a depth piece who is kept around until his contract runs out -

As Keim likes to say, the weight isn't the major issue. The issue is that he played with bad technique, especially in the first half of the season. He needs to focus on cleaning that up first and foremost. To his credit, his technique seemed to improve incrementally in the second half of the season. He needs to really focus on that this offseason...a real pass rush next year will also help him look better. Again, my take is go sign a proven starting corner (Peters's find Lenoir will be available in FA I believe) and let Forbes and St Juste fight it out for the other starting corner spot. I bet at least one of the two bounces back next year. It also helps we play the NFC South and AFC North next year. Both divisions currently lack a #2 receiver worth a damn (outside of the Bengals who are probably losing Higgins) -
Regarding the scouts, didn’t they generally keep a number of folks from the Kyle Smith era around?
