I am not seeing Mayer as a difference maker at that pick with the team. Give me a TE who blocks well and can be a decent receiver. We are built at the receiver spot, We run the ball and that makes a back who does run and catch well, another weapon. I would take a chance on building Oline, TE, QB,LB with the rest of picks and free agency. Brian R. has won the starting job why overpay for Gibson later, trade him after pick if possible. If either had made a few less mistakes both games would have been won.

Was that great Oline in pass play last year before the blitz came? Cause it was not great after and running more no matter who the QB is if you want to win a few games and have your QB play the next week. At least TH has escape ability and pass play numbers for OL were better because of it too.

None of this is going to matter if the QB cannot be protected. Have we had a QB make it through a whole season in the last 12 years? It may not be a decision but a reality that TH behind this line is not going to make it through the rest of the season. Or the rookie either? Wentz could be back sooner than later? And lost again? Wentz stay in Washington should be over. He is a QB of the old NFL. One who is a stiff in the pocket and has no wall in front of him. He does not have the quick release or accuracy to make up for it.
