Won games as a starter, No not next year but as a backup yes. Average starter at best. Do not want another Wentz either. Got to be something better.

But at what Cost? And the past history here. Then why not keep drafting at it till you hit something instead of paying for castoffs to save the coaches jobs?. Look around elite QB's get drafted all the time in different Rounds and they are on rookie contracts till they prove or get casted off. How are the cast offs doing, by teams that no longer think they are worth the money and why does this team keep dishing it out. Would be my answer.

Not everybody believes Taylor sucks like you do. But everybody believes Wentz sucks including you. Taylor has won meaning full games. He plays with what he has to work with. Who has been a better QB then him in Washington lately. Fitz sucked, Smith Sucked , Haskins sucked.......... Cousins yes. But what did the team win? OLine better then too? RG3 1 year. better OL then too? Howell ? excuse NC had no line last year. Nobody's saying he is great but he does not suck.

Looking over their shoulder will hurt them? Some fans wanted RG3 to not have Cousins looking over his shoulder, glad they kept him on his rookie contract but not happy he wanted to set the market and had to go. Also not a no.1 pick or high dollar cast off of other teams. 2 no.1's failed on that list and a bunch of Cast offs failed too. Cousins was the best.

Thats what happens when you have no OL the QB not only takes the hit, it's his fault here in Washington too as well as the draft. Howell should play he fits this team like a glove. He can run, and if he can pass he should do well. QB's that can run and avoid the blitz are the now QB's.

Tom Brady is falling with his broken down line not to mention and to back you up. Tampa Bay has have been forced to go to the run also even though Brady gets the ball out as Quick as any. They also have great WR's. It always the QB 's fault in Washington never mind the OL cannot block. This team is built for a running QB but wants a passing QB.

If Ron had not blown it with Wentz this past year and all the others before Wentz by this team sure. But I am not ready to lose needed players like Payne again. To me QB is a need like other positions, when are they going to stop acting like a GB solves everything. This team cannot keep a QB safe right now, It's a passing league but we have a line built to run and not pass block not to mention the type of back we drafted. We need TE's who can block and catch, OL who can pass block, RB all purpose, LB depth/ starter. Not another Cap busting QB who is letting him go. Why are they letting go if he is so good? Just my opinions though.

Different people and player with different abilities maybe SF got it right or that's what was left on the depth chart. and Ron tied his wagon to Wentz this year. Maybe he wants to win the meaningless game and feels he has to take his best shot. I would play Howell too, nothing to gain for a win.

I think one player to look at is Logan Thomas as a cut canidate, way over paid and saves the most after Wentz is gone. Hurt a lot with a big contract and of no use this season. We also have a couple young TE's who could step up and there is the draft. Norwell, Charles, Lucas, DaxMl next in line. Trade possibilities, Gibson if trade is right but contract is not a problem and would keep. Sign, Sweat if price is not to high, but draft is deep at that position. Keep Payne as top priority. Even give the coaches another year but would not lose any sleep if it did not happen. Play as many backups as possible the last game, not worth losing key starters. Look to the draft and free agency. Trade down if possible or trade up if your player is there at the right price. Hope Dan is gone so I can become a loyal fan again as top thing to happen this year.

I would go with Howell too. But watching QB3 get destroyed does nothing either, other than prove why he was not in there in the first place. I guess maybe they could run the ball the whole game to save him from taking a beaten like all the other QB's before him. Starting Howell could move our picks up the draft board too. Maybe we have a chance at a top pick QB. It's not like we have anything to play for either. Maybe sit the starting OL. They can learn something for next year just like Wentz did for the Browns game. Maybe they will be quicker and heal their feet too. Maybe the coaches don't call the play at the goal line leaving the QB with his back to the unblocked OLB in both the Giants games. Maybe they block him this time, it could happen, maybe. Hope he does well.

You think with the OL you have and a tough rookie RB going forward would be your best option. Would be the call and nobody would be second guessing.

Why does it have to be 14, QB's make it in all rounds. or picks in the 1st. Need competent player evaluation and get lucky. Howell could be the man or not?

Sure looks like the member picture and big Hog mascot may have a lot in common or is it just the big smiles?

Big problem for Ron is the Wentz trade. 28mil could have been better used and the draft picks are gone, The team has a real good chance to be a loser again mainly because of it.

Why would Taylor be pissed ? He knew he would be playing behind the same line and coaches for starters, and he has a better mental understanding then Wentz. They played on the same terms, and you saw the results playing against a team with nothing to gain.

Minus one fumble that cost 1 Giants game and most possibly the playoffs and another in the other Gants game both at the goal line from the blind side, also untouched by any OL strictly on the play call and OL and not on Taylor. But their is no comparrison Wenth is no longer a NFL QB and Taylor is.

Ron said Wentz was his, he owned it whether Dan had anything to do with it or not. Sometimes you have to pay for your mistakes. This team was ready to make the playoffs. If he would have stayed the course. Wentz gets coaches fired, period, fools gold.

Nice, what jumps out to me is the Ol sad faces and it tells the biggest story of the team. I would say the OL and QB Wentz were the biggest reasons the team does not make the playoffs this year as a team. But the coaches put this team together day in and day out, Ron said Wentz was his man. Ron made the choice who starts and what coaches are kept, what part of the team needs to be fixed. After reading this tread and the results are in no playoffs when it was there for the taking its on Ron and the coaches, they need to go. Taylor gets too much of the blame, if Ron would have tried to take care of the OL instead of giving up 2 3s and 28mil and made a decision to redo OL, results could have been different, but he decided to stay the course and overpay and use picks on another QB on his way out. His choice and he should lose his job for it. It could have been Taylor, Howell 2 others and a rebuilt OL. Maybe Howell does get in with Wentz not here, but Taylor was not the big problem, A better OL may have made the difference. Howell coming in late who knows. what we know is Ron blew it with Wentz, I have said last year and this year the OL deserves more heat and last year they were almost as bad too, tired of all the excuses, players who we have lost from last year, a great OL coach, the numbers say this too. Taylor gets most of the heat, he is paid 5mil plus and he earned his salary. He could escape better than any recent QB in Washington. This NFL requires you to run, have pocket awareness, make any kind of throw you can get off, and you cannot have a run only line. Howell fits with running ability but he would have the same problems with the OL. He needs to play this week to get his feet wet. Draft another or 2 QB;s hope for the best but fix the line.

Well we do not develop players like those teams. Look at all the has-been's we have had at QB position that all got paid.

They never started booing till he started sucking the life out of team with his play. They expected the new so called Wentz and all he did was play the way he did to start the season.

Team was playing the Browns with nothing to gain not the 49er or Giants that did, If maybe we had a average OL we could have won a couple of those games with TH but not with Wentz. TH will be around much longer than Wentz will be. Wentz is another 1st. round bust. A flash in the pan. TH at the least will be a good back up and spot starter that every team needs.
