Meh, Vegas is fun for about two days before it all becomes the same, and then all you are left with is summer temps over 105+ Hahaha, enjoy it Thito.

Oh and if you saw the pics I posted from the 49ers/Skins tailgate from this season. You can expect ALL OF US down in AZ for that game next season and you are always welcome to join us.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Say it aint so, thito.

You will be missed at F-51, bro.

You are still young, so this will be a good move for you. When I was your age, I thought the doing the same thing.

Go west, young man. Go west.

But I didn't, and regrete it to this day.

And besides, after you gamble all your money away, you can come back home to Redskins country. :D

The DTC will throw you a HUGE going away party, bro.

We will have plenty of beer and strippers.

Keep us posted Thito. I will be there the first week of April for 3 to 4 days, and if your going to be around, you can join our party of 30 or so, for some killer times.

Keep in mind that the rent is low, and so is the pay. I have friends, and family who live there.

I don't have an exact move date as of yet, but the beginning of April is looking more likely. I might just miss you, but I'll let you know.

The rent, at least compared to here, is unbelievably low.

I don't think it will become the same, but it could. I understand that. I always have the option to come back if I don't like it. And I'm more than happy to exchange summer temps in Vegas for the winter temps in Virginia/DC.

Appreciate the invitation to tailgate. I see no reason why I wouldn't make the AZ game.

I was wondering when you'd see this thread.

And Dave, you're right, if I don't go, I could see myself having regrets. It's a good decision for me.

Besides, I get beer and strippers. :D Not that I won't have that in Vegas.

Congrads, I was born and bred in the great state of Nevada, so I feel very qualified to give you a few tips and pointers: Learn how to say NEVADA right, if you say it like they teach you in Virginia the natives wont like you, its Nuh Vah Duh. State flower is Sagebrush, state bird is the mountain bluebird. state song is home means Nevada. Football starts at 10.00 am, if you get to the casino by 9.30 you should have plenty of time to bet your card, MNF starts at 6.00 pm. Don't worry about football or any sports for that matter your options are without limit. Don't cash your paycheck at the casino: the casino's go out of their way to entice you to do this, you will get free drinks, free food tokes and a free spin on the wheel to win a million dollars, don't fall for it, put your money in the bank. With the exception of a football card or two a week and the occasional night out at the tables I would stay wide and clear of gambling, I would really limit yourself to some very low number like $20 a week, save up and only take the money you want to lose. Fall, Winter and Spring are lovely but get ready for one hot muthereffing summer, don't let that dry heat fool you, Summers are for inside unless your swimming. For the most part there are no bad bugs, say goodbye to skeeters, too hot, no roaches, but watch out for scorpions and black widows, you might want to check your shoes before you put them on. If you see a sign like the one I posted don't cross the line. Drive into the desert but don't get lost.

On a side note, I'm moving to Richmond VA. in september, you got any advice for me?

Wow Thito-

You could play grand theft auto for real out there.

J/k

Good luck man. I was going to move to AZ or SoCal, but moved to Charleston, SC instead.

Kind of regret not moving to SoCal, but I think I would have been eaten alive when I was pondering the move. I may still get out that way yet....

Great post man! I appreciate that!

As far as Richmond, I'm not sure I have much advice. Coming from NY, you shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting. I've been to Richmond a few times. There's a lot of college kids. If you go to the beach, I'd definitely take the extra few hours and head to Myrtle. VA Beach is dirty and not the ideal vacation spot, but it does work for a quick getaway. I'd help ya out a lot more if you were moving to Northern VA. I'll see what else I can come up with.

If you do, let me know. SoCal could be in my future if Vegas doesn't work out. Who really knows. But, if you ever make it out that way, we'll get together.

Oh, and congrats on the move Thito.

Enjoy Vegas!! :)

I want the city painted Burgandy and Gold by the time I get there in the summer.

Let me know when you go out there. By then hopefully I should know my way around a little bit and I can show ya few spots.

There's women and children that read these boards. I was just protecting my image, or what's left of it.

Have it your way, we'll get twisted. :D

Maybe we'll even hit up the bunny ranch.

Look up this lonely fan when you get here!!

WARNING: Housing is tough to find! but it seems to appreciate every day!

I moved here a year and a 1/2 ago. Huge culture change, but enjoying it.

Any idea what part of town you are considering looking at?

I was waiting for you to reply. ;):)

My parents have a couple of housing options in Summerlin(?), which I've been told is Northern LV. They have family and friends there as well so they're pretty far along on finding a place. I believe they are going in February to close on a house. I was under the impression Vegas is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation.

As for me, I'll be renting. At least at first. I'll live with my family for a month, maybe 2 at the most, then find my own apartment. My boy is movin out with me around May/June.

My first order of business after I move is to get a car. After I get a car, I was planning on feeling my way around/learning the area a little bit. From there, I'll get a job and look for a place I'd like to live. Without ever having been, I'll say I'd love to live as close to the strip as possible. That might change once I move and see the area, I don't know yet.

We'll definitely have to hook up eventually.

  • 2 months later...

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. I haven't been able to post much lately as I've been so busy.

I got back from Vegas this morning. First and foremost, WOW. :)

I found an apartment on Monday. One block from the strip. :shhh: I move in May 15.

This means I will be attending the draft day party at FedEx. I don't think there's much else to update for now. I'd like to thank skin-n-vegas for all the help he's provided me with so far.

And finally... what the hell is with all the "Ask" threads?

Thito, so when Zeron and I and the rest of his football buddies head into town for his bachelor party, you can hook us up?
