That is dark energy.  I guess we can safely say the physicists aren't sure what is going to happen at this point. Big Crunch or Big Rip.  Guess we'll just have to wait and see what actually happens😀.

Yeah, it's something of a size so completely outside of our human experience that it's literally impossible for us to viscerally comprehend. We can think about it abstractly in relation to the size of other objects but that's about it.

That's dark energy, though dark energy and dark matter are kind of two sides of the same coin. Dark energy is repulsive (no offense, DE) and is what's theoretically driving the accelerating expansion of the universe and could lead to the big rip. Dark matter is attractive and is the unseen matter that accounts for a large percentage of the _inertial_ mass in the universe.
