TK
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/polls/sports/dallas_121103.htm Who's the Cowboy You Love to Hate the Most? By Dan Hargett Special to washingtonpost.com Web Posted: Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003; 1:12 p.m. EST Where has the hatred, the intense loathing, that simple and absolute distaste for everything Cowboys gone? Have free agency, insane amounts of money and a league more MTV than NFL served to dull the edges and remove the malice from what was once the most-heated rivalry in the National Football League? For those with long memories, though, hatred for everything Cowboy was once as pervasive in Washington as the three-hour rush hour. With that in mind, we stoke the fires of a once-great conflict and ask the well-versed and uninitiated alike to select your most hated Cowboy of all time. Did we leave someone out?Let us know. ***Hit the link at the top to vote*** Roger Staubach Alvin Harper Michael Irvin Harvey Martin Tony Dorsett Danny White Clint Longley Raghib Ismail Emmitt Smith Jimmy Johnson Troy Aikman James Washington QB Roger Staubach (1969-1979) Naval Academy, Heisman trophy, all-American looks -- Redskins fans and players alike enjoyed a particular kind of loathing for him, especially after he paralyzed Washington's playoff hopes with an epic rally in the 1979 season finale. WR Alvin Harper (Cowboys 1991-1994; Redskins 1997) Fleet-footed receiver was more track than football star; came to Washington as a free agent in 1997 and proceeded to catch all of two passes before being unceremoniously dumped after publicly ripping coach Norv Turner. WR Michael Irvin (1988-1999) As if his nickname -- "The Playmaker" -- wasn't enough, this mouthy and demonstrative malcontent always gave Darrell Green fits and the Redskins migraines, and he wasn't shy about telling the world about it. DT Harvey Martin (1973-1983) Another in a long line of Cowboy loudmouths, infamous for tossing a funeral wreath into the Redskins' locker room after that heart-breaking 35-31 loss in the 1979 game in Dallas. RB Tony Dorsett (1977-1988) Four-time Pro Bowler was just a little too smooth and polished for anybody's taste; tossed a ball at head of Redskins DT Darryl Grant as Cowboys unraveled in the 1983 game in Dallas; chronic fumbler who crossed the picket line along with five teammates during the 1987 players strike. QB Danny White (1976-1988) The name alone screams fourth-grade home room teacher. White was blown up by Dexter Manley in the 1983 NFC title game in a hit still savored by Redskins fans. Who can forget Tom Landry pleading "No, Danny, no" on a fourth-down attempt during 1983 Redskins rout in Dallas; also crossed picket line during 1987 strike. QB Clint Longley (1974-1975) Clint who? The Redskins were 35 seconds away from clinching a playoff berth when "The Mad Bomber" threw an improbable 50-yard touchdown to Drew Pearson to give Cowboys a 24-23 Thanksgiving Day victory in Dallas. It was just one of five TD passes he tossed in his entire career. WR Raghib "Rocket" Ismail (1999-2001) Would have been quite forgettable had he not sprinted past lead-footed Matt Stevens to haul in a game-winning 76-yard score to give Cowboys a 41-35 overtime victory in the 1999 season opener -- a game Redskins led 35-14 in the fourth quarter. RB Emmitt Smith (1990-2002) What is there to say? He just mauled the Redskins at every turn, including a 155-yard, three touchdown effort a week after being benched in a 1996 Cowboys victory in Dallas; selfishly keeps ball from every NFL touchdown he has ever scored. How's Arizona, Emmitt? Coach Jimmy Johnson (1989-1993) There always has been something a bit suspicious about that perfect coif. His arrogant boast -- "How About Them Cowboys!!!???" -- and two Super Bowl titles continue to chafe long after he left for the beaches of South Florida. Johnson's Cowboys might have have gone 0-16 in 1989 if the Redskins had not folded and allowed the Cowboys a 13-3 victory in their 1-15 season. QB Troy Aikman (1989-2000) Another in a long line of pretty-boy Cowboy quarterbacks; maintained a close bond with Norv Turner even after the Dallas coordinator took over Redskins' reigns in 1994; sent to TV booth permanently thanks to a vicious LaVar Arrington hit during the 2000 game in Dallas. S James Washington (1990-1994; Redskins 1995) One of the Dallas heroes of the Super Bowl XXVIII victory over the Bills; came to Redskins as a free agent; produced his own signature T-shirts and was given own local radio show. Too bad he didn't produce on the field; lasted one overrated season. Red&BlueRivalry
I don't even have to click the link to see if results are posted. I can already tell you Michael Irvin wins. He is the poster child for Cowboys haters. He still gets more grief than Ray Lewis, Ray Carruth and other worse offenders since.

a_good_brotha
Everyone in a Cowboys uniform is tied for the most hated. Unless they wised up and decided to be a Redskin like Pepi Zellner and Brandon Noble (even though he got injured). Deion deos not count. He wore a Redskin uniform, but he will never be a Redskin to me. :dallasuck :dallasuck :dallasuck :dallasuck :dallasuck :dallasuck

gridironmike
You would think Jerry Jones should be on the list. Deion was probably spared since he played for us. Two notorius names conspicuos by their absence.

69 YARDS
Too easy.......each and every one. To leave Deion Sanders off the list is criminal, though. (But hey, we are talking about the Cowboys, so criminality can be expected.)
