I can't believe the FirstPick site only gives a B grade for drafting Sweat at 15! I would think that the first 3 picks would become starters day one. Totally unrealistic draft as not a single QB had been taken by the time my number 15 pick came around so I traded back a couple of times, picking up two more 2nd round picks and I still got my choice of QB (between Murray, Haskins and Lock). Who would you have taken, given this scenario?

 

I say "unrealistic" but then again I never thought Jonathan Allen would slip to the Redskins in 2017 and I certainly never thought the Redskins would be able to land Derrius Guice in the second round last year. All that being said and living in the fantasy realm of mock drafts, this draft would be my personal favorite. I see mostly potential starters at positions of need and some quality back-ups with nearly every pick. It seemed like every guy I wanted was there for the taking at each selection. My least favorite pick was OT Yodny Cajuste in the 2nd round. I took him because he was the only day 1 prospect on the board so I thought he would represent good value and the Redskins could use more OT given the amount of injuries the past few years. But this pick just smacks of the Gerron Christian pick of a year ago.

I'm not sure why the Sweat pick only nets a grade of B+, especially after trading back a couple times and landing him at pick 22. Maybe it because the site has him listed as a DE and not an OLB/Edge which is REALLY the need on this team but damn, that great value IMO. Getting both Metcalf AND Brown at WR...whoa.

In what universe is T.J. Hockenson slipping to the END of round 3?! I'd be psyched if the Redskins draft him at 15! That is even more unrealistic as Murray being available at 15. This would be a killer draft though!

Well this is my personal best score for a draft and I do like it. However, I would have liked to come away with an OT for depth and a possible replacement for Williams eventually. Adding WRs Metcalf, Isabella and Boykin would immediately transform the WR corps into a potential strength. I also believe that the OG/backup Center positions would be immediately upgraded with Bradbury and Samia. Great value for Grier, IMO.

The Website didn't dig my draft, but I would be pretty happy with this haul. Imagine an influx of play-making ability to this offense by adding players like Hockenson, Brown and Isabella? OLB Miller could push fellow Alabama alum Anderson for the starting spot vacated by Preston Smith and OG Davis would be a consideration as a starter as well.

 

I didn't address QB, but personally, I'd rather build around the QB position this year and let the chips fall where they may and then focus on landing a QB in next years draft (probably with a selection higher than 15).

Trading back to 19 and still landing Haskins would probably be viewed as a huge win, but I guess, I'm just not that big of a fan. But it felt like the right thing to do, given the value. Rapp and Savage to go with Collins would probably make the Safety position an area of strength on this defense. Cambell and Isabella offer some real intrigue as WR additions. I think this mock has pretty solid talent throughout.

I hope the Redskins can find a way to get Hockenson in the draft. I think he would allow this offense to really take off under Gruden's stewardship. He would allow the team to run or pass without tipping defenses off and is a playmaker that Reed used to be.

Here we go again with a trade back scenario in the 1st round and lo and behold...Haskins is still there for the taking. The value for Simmons in the second round was just too good to pass up even if it is a bit of a luxury pick. I love Winovich, I just don't think you can have too many players like him on your defense.
