Goskinz0721
Let's see how much play this gets in the national news. Think it will be lead-in story on ESPN like it was last year? Yeah, I don't think so either cause it's the Patsies.

Big Blue Joe
Let's see how much play this gets in the national news. Think it will be lead-in story on ESPN like it was last year? Probably not. Because the Patriots' coach isn't attracting attention to the story and making it into a bigger distraction than it needs to be.
Hiro
Probably not. Because the Patriots' coach isn't attracting attention to the story and making it into a bigger distraction than it needs to be. The Washington media is a tad more rabid than the New England media as well. Plus, there wasn't a major issue with Al not showing up to training camp, so slightly different situations .. Big Blue Joe
The Washington media is a tad more rabid than the New England media as well.Is it? With the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins, I would think that Boston would have to have a fairly sizable sports media.
ouvan59
Probably not. Because the Patriots' coach isn't attracting attention to the story and making it into a bigger distraction than it needs to be. Shanahan wasn't either. He was doing the exact same thing that Belichick did which was answer questions. In fact his answers sounded almost identical to Shanahan's last year at this point. Size doesn't necessarily influence the nature of the media. The Washington sports media, especially on regards to the Redskins, are particularly critical and rabid in their coverage. I strongly attribute that to their hate of Dan Snyder.

All we have is speculation due to Belichick's total non-answer of the reporter's question. That shouldn't matter. It's the 1st day of Training Camp and the latest reclamation project can't get on the field to practice. On Thrusday, the signing was spalshed all over the ESPN website espousing the Patsies expertise in turning around malcontents. He can't show to practice on day 1 and the asylum is quiet. Big Blue Joe
That shouldn't matter. But it does. Because the media doesn't have a story to run. Bang
Big Blue Joe is right. we don't know what the problem is. He could be in the bathroom. He may have strained his wrist trying to get his credit card away from some woman's breast. He might be recieving a citation for Good Citizenry after informing some guy at a stoplight just how bad he was driving. He may have stopped off in Philly to take a nap at Mike Vick's feet. He maybe was busy setting up his mid-practice snack signal lanterns at the Old North Church (One for extra-crispy, two for original recipe) Or... Wanting desperately to protect his millions, local Tea Party activists may have thrown him into Boston Harbor so Dark Lord Obama could not see him with his all-evil Tax-Eye it could be any number of perfectly legtitimate reasons why Albert Haynesworth is not on the practice field.. ~Bang

The article in the Post is all the information anyone in the media can provide on the situation. My "shouldn't matter" comment was in regards to not knowing the reason Fat Ass isn't on the field practicing. There's no explanation because Belicheat is an arrogant prick and the media cowtows to his ego. Press him and he slithers away like the worm that he is. So you're saying the Skins "gift wrapped" a story about Fat Ass for the meida last year? Got. it. Fat Ass pulled the same stunt last year: Couldn't get on the field for the 1st practice. You think it's different and therefore shouldn't be overblown as it was last year. It's the same. Goskinz0721
Haynesworth definitely played a huge role in creating the drama, but Shanahan helped the story grow even bigger. ...by saying Fat Ass had to pass the conditioning test to practice BECAUSE Fat Ass skipped all of the offseason workouts AND the coaching staff had no information on his physical condition. Could he have simply not answered like Belicheat? Sure and the media certainly would have let the story go away. But the media gave Belicheat a pass by not pressing him for an answer as to why Fat Ass isn't at practice. Why aren't they interviewing other Patsies players to get a reaction or comment? How about speculating lead stories on ESPN about the situation? This wouldn't be such a big deal to me if the trade to the Patsies was reported as simply a trade. But it wasn't. It's blasted out as a great move by the Patsies because they save every malcontent and will certainly fix Fat Ass. I was watching the PGA tournament 15 minutes ago on CBS and the announcer commented on what a great move it was for the Patsies to sign Fat Ass. Really? During a golf tourney? So Fat Ass can't practice on Day 1 of Training Camp and the experts are nowhere to be heard.

'Skins_&_'Stons
The Patriots would have had a better chance of winning the Super Bowl had they signed a chain-smoking, epileptic donkey that is strung out on mescaline than sign Albert Haynesworth. At least the drugged up donkey would show up to practice.

Goskinz0721
Oh, I love it. I really freaking love this Patsie reporting: "At the same time, there are a few common-sense reasons why putting Haynesworth on the practice field Saturday would have been an irresponsible risk to take. First, it was a full-pad session, featuring the first contact of camp. From a coaching standpoint, there is no need to rush the 6-foot-5, 330-pound Haynesworth into that type of setting. Every other player had the benefit of being eased back into the mix as part of the "transition rules" of a new labor agreement, so why should it be different for Haynesworth?" "Every other player had the benefit of being eased back into the mix"...LMFAO! Really? So the Patsies started practicing before the agreement was signed? Or did they all start practicing on the same day? So that means that no player under contract should be practicing on the 1st & 2nd day of Training Camp because they are being "eased back into the mix". What a maroon! "Furthermore, the first contact is most extreme for a lineman, as evidenced by some of the drills the Patriots were running Saturday....The pads were crunching, bodies were being moved, players were on the ground. It was physical." Are you f***ing serious? So Fat Ass needs to avoid this because what? Oh, I know, if he fell on the ground he'd remain there for the rest of the f***ing day! Oohhh..."the pads were crunching".Don't get Fat Ass near that! What an asshat! "A major part of a coach's responsibility in this post-lockout environment is managing the health of players, and it would be borderline reckless of Belichick to put Haynesworth in that position. He'd be risking the health of an asset he obviously feels is going to be a big part of the team." WTF? "Borderline reckless" to put an experienced player into a practice where he's wearing pads? Are you f***ing kidding me? Seriously "borderline reckless"? His Fatness can't practice in pads because it would risk his health? Really? Did you read this crap before you submitted it to your boss? Did he read this? "That appears to be the same way Belichick has approached the team's conditioning test. One player described this year's test as a bit different from the norm, somewhat modified and scaled back, which is likely a result of Belichick not wanting to push too hard too early. " Ahhh...so that explains it. The conditioning test is actually easier than its been in the past in Patsieland. And they're stil concerned Fat Ass can't pass it! What a bunch of s***.
