nuposse87
Great read about Porter. Am I the only one that thinks we will make the playoffs...? Edit: Grammar I think 8th seed is reasonable, I think we have a legit chance at the 6th seed, and an outside chance at 5th (I believe the Knicks fall this season). Destino
CSN is showing a hockey game that doesn't even involve the Caps, but we can't get the Wizards game? Worse, its a philly hockey game. Do those ****s not understand that this market hates that damn market?

Going Commando
That's a really cool story about Porter BTW. Stuff like that makes me proud to be a fan. I'm really glad we got him. Jan started? He's on the floor with the starters right now. Looks like Ariza started over Webster too. I don't know if Jan starting is a good sign for Jan or a terrible sign for Seraphin. But so far, Jan has played good D and grabbed some boards. Both John and Nene look good and are doing a good job carrying the offense. Brook Lopez has the smoothest jump hook. We can boo Blatche harder than this!
StillUnknown
Wall & Beal looking good shooting the ball.
Going Commando
Looks like Jan is the starter at PF and Seraphin is being used to spell Nene. Makes sense, but I definitely thought Harrington or Booker would be ahead of Jan on the depth chart. This might be Jan's last legit shot to earn a job and run with it. No pressure. Some mistakes from him early. Bobbled a pass on a PnR but got it out to Beal for a decent 3 pt attempt. Left his feet on a fake from Blatche and had to end up fouling him. But Jan has actually gotten some rebounds in traffic and he's playing the PnR well on defense. To me this is the most interesting development of the game so far. I'm thinking we can get enough offense out of Wall, Beal, and Nene to start Jan and Ariza with them as defensive specialists. But the offense looked pretty ugly when Nene went out and I think that could be a running theme.
TradeTheBeal!
Vesely looked like an NBA player in the 1st. The Wiz might be fun this year. Edited October 8, 2013 by mboyd784
Going Commando
Backups not looking good. They're a mess defensively and the Nets had a pretty easy time scoring in the paint against them on that 14-3 run. I actually think they might be alright offensively though once they get it figured out. I'm thinking there might be enough separate offensive skills in a group of Maynor, Webster, Harrington, and Seraphin to get something or other going. Getting good 3 pointers but none of them are falling.
StillUnknown
2nd team looking shaky, I'll chalk it up to new people learning the system. One benefit of Wittman's offense not being that complicated, the new bodies should be able to pick it up quickly.
Going Commando
Having trouble with Lopez's size inside. Can't finish over him and we can't really stop him from getting into his range. If he could rebound, that dude could end up being a fantastic player. Garnett/Lopez is going to be ver tough to score on.
StillUnknown
Nets are yelling "he's shooting" everytime Seraphin touches the ball, they are not exactly wrong.

Thinking Skins
Impressed is a strong word, but I'll use it anyway. I'm pretty impressed with Jan so far. If we could just get him to take some shots, let alone make some, it would be a lot better. I want to see if his shot has improved any over the summer. He's been the most hyped thing all offseason. He needs a post move of some sort. Beal has been pretty quiet so far. Vesely in mid-season form, 4 fouls in 14 minutes I think they said Paul Pierce got his 4th in 6 minutes. That's impressive even to Vesely. Pretty ho hum half. Not very bad, not very good.

Offensively, he can utilize his passing to keep the ball flowing and get his points on cheapies and open shots when he's feeling confident. Even if he has worked on a specific offensive move, I doubt he will have the confidence to try it in a game. Stay out of the way on offense, be a pest on defense. None of that is possible if he can't learn to play without fouling. We are paper thin on the frontcourt, we need him to play minutes if only to keep others somewhat fresh. Destino
Hopefully Ves can rebound before fouling out during the regular season. Because Nene and Harrington, especially when playing together... rebounding disaster. Harrington pulls the chair out from under Blatche. MonkFan8
Down 13 to the Nets C team, nice. Maybe another lottery year will finally ****ing get EG fired? Beal and Wall are going to have great years. Beal looks like he worked on his handle nearly as hard as Wall worked on his jump shot. That's pretty modest, I think he can do that. I want to see him show some value on offense. I would love to see him show a couple of spots he can hit open jumpers from and I would really love to see him use some of his post moves from the summer league in games. Harrington would be nice to have on the floor with the starters but I think you need him on the second line to compensate for the lack of Wall and Nene. Might need to go Ariza at the 2 and Porter at the 3 when he gets back. I think Webster should start at the 3. Where is GRIII? I haven't heard anything about him for a while. StillUnknown
Why is Nene still playing? and now Wall is checking back into the game? Why must you tempt the Gods Wittman? Edited October 9, 2013 by StillUnknown
Going Commando
Dang that was a nice one handed putback. Vesely always fouls to keep guys from getting open dunks and layups. It's what you're supposed to do. Feels like no one else on the team does it. The problem is that he and his teammates too often get beat giving up those open inside shots. I think Ves also needs to learn how to live to fight another day too. As Destino mentioned, his role is going to have to change because we actually need him to play minutes now. Telenovic (sp?) is an interesting player.
Going Commando
Beal needs to iron out those finishes in transition. Meh that looked like a bad call on Seraphin. Plumlee is a fairly accomplished flopper I see.
