Hi there. :)

8. Please use descriptive and accurate topic titles for your thread.

Adherence to this rule assists visitors in utilizing discretion when selecting content to read. It serves to notify members if a particular topic has already been posted and discussed and potentially prevents multiple threads on the exact same topic. Be respectful of the fact that some people come to ExtremeSkins explicitly for latest Redskins news and content, without the editorializing of titles by members.

We are having a preponderance of threads being started, particularly in the Stadium forum, where a title of 2 to 3 non-descriptive words is used. This shows a lack of courtesy to your fellow members. With an ever-increasing number of new threads every day, and an expanding member base, members become more selective about which threads to open and spend their time reading, and which ones to bypass. They cannot do that if the thread titles are 'Guess what?', 'Hey, I just noticed...', or 'WTF!' You are also creating extra work for the Staff who, instead of just merging redundant, repetitive threads based on accurate titles, now has to open each one up and try and figure out where it belongs. So, regardless of the forum, if your thread title is simply "Santana Moss" or any other person's name and nothing else, you may find yourself in the No New Threads group. In all our forums, we expect accurate and clear descriptions of your topic in your title.

It is amazing how many editors there are on this message board. More people comment about an "illegal thread title", than the news that we just signed two WRs in the last hour.
Self policing. It makes ES better.

onedrop, with one less year here then you, is right. Obviously in his shorter time here, he's managed to make himself familiar with this concept which is mentioned in the Forum Rules. Surprisingly, it seems like you have not.

Well, I'm pretty sure that we don't need 50 replies to tell someone that they have broken the rules. 1 reply policing the person is more than enough IMO. 8 replies in this thread are in reference to either the title of the thread being jacked up or are commenting on whether it should be policed.....make that 9.

That gives us 11 (I think) WRs on the roster....

Wow.. who goes in the first cut...?

Nothing odd about going into TC with this many WR's. Usually more of that group consists of UDFA's but I think since the majority of WR's we expect to make the cut are first, second, and third year players we would prefer to have a more veteran presence to add a sense of competition. Similar to the signings of Larry Johnson and Willie Parker but to a higher degree. If we just signed a bunch of UDFA's it would be too obvious to these guys that their jobs are safe. I'm sure they still know they don't have much honest competition but the veterans are a step up in that regard.

I agree. I'm an active contributor on multiple other forums some much larger and some even smaller and they don't have the same love of self policing there. If it has been pointed out already that a thread title needs to be modified or a link provided no one else needs to comment on it. The posters who make a comment regarding a rule violation without adding to the content of the thread are 10x worse than the poster who actually provided something to the forum but made a simple mistake.

The first line of your post is what your title should be!

Other than that thanks for passing along the info, interesting that they dont seem to have much faith in the reciever we drafted.

I don't see that as having anything to do with it. Austin was drafted for his return skills and is not expected to be counted on as a WR early in his career. These veterans are camp body competition and guys that can be put on the emergency list.

This thread has, officially, been

JACKED UP

I've never heard of Bobby Wade but I'm glad to see a few, here, are hopeful that he's better competition than most camp signings usually are.

I'll have to google the dude to see what I can dig up.

Hail!

haha, well let's wait til a more official article and then a new thread can be put up. Sorry OP, I still don't think you deserved a NNT but the mods are coming down hard because things are going crazy. If you made the same mistake during a calmer time of the offseason, not sure if you would have gotten it. YOU CAN STILL EDIT YOUR TITLE!!!

Hmmm... I really like this signing. Watching Wade play a few times with the Chiefs, I remember telling myself more than a few times that this guy could be a stud in a better offense.

If my gut is right (for once) this guy may be the "under the radar" signing that ends up being huge for us!

I don't see that as having anything to do with it. Austin was drafted for his return skills and is not expected to be counted on as a WR early in his career.

From his videos he appears to be a much faster and quicker reciever than return man. I dont necessarily see us leaving a roster spot devoted to return specialist, especially if we plan to carry four running backs.

So unless he can be counted on to be a solid fith reciever in some capacity, I am pretty certain that his less than spectacular return skills will not be enough to justify keeping him on the roster.

Wow OP got NNT'd for this? Kinda silly. At any Rate Bobby Wade has been around for a while and may actually have something left in the tank, unlike Joey Galloway who has been washed up for 5-6 years now.

Has it been that long since Galloway started to decline? He is definitely on the downside of things. Then again, so was McCardell a few years ago and he still managed to contribute.
