philemon
With all the Shanahan talk (and now possibly Cowher), there's very little discussion about the possibility of bringing in Steve Mariuchi. Could he be the dark horse staying under the radar in this coaching search? :helmet:

grego
does steve 'mariuchi' play in a 'mariuchi' band? i'd like to hear 'la bamba' please.
paintrain
Mooch has no interest in leaving the West coast or in people that cannot spell his name correctly.
Rskins06
I wanted him to be hired when Gibbs left, now though, I would take Shanahan before Mooch. Not to mention, I don't believe the Redskins are searching for a new HC as I beleive one is already hired and it ain't Mooch, Cowher, or Fox. RedlightG20
Personally I don't think he's any good. If he were that good, someone would have scooped him up sometime in the last 5 years. Being out of coaching for that long probably has let him lose his fire for coaching as well as made him soft on players.
ciscofan
Dark horse? Well, how about the gazillion reports that has Shanny coming here. Do you think Danny would want Mooch if he can have Shanny? no
AKM311
We don't need another soft coach.

Redskins4ever
I doubt if Steve Mariucci is cut out for the NFC east. I doubt if he would last that long.

I brought his name up a few weeks ago. He's been to the playoffs, but going to the playoffs in the NFC East is harder than NFC West. Different style and different teams. TK
Some of you kill me. Mooch isn't coming here. He turned it down last year because his staff was already picked for him & his wife refused to leave the West Coast. Though give him props for recommending Bingo Sherm. SoCalSkins
It would be more productive to speculate as to the next coach after Shanahan. There is no discussion, question or doubt. There won't be a 6 week "process" with sleep overs and fashion evaluations of how guys look in suits. Our GM will not be scouring the internet to put together a list of candidates. This is a done deal.

This is a done deal. Agreed. I think it has been done for awhile. Shanny has made a rather long list of places that he will not be in already. Why do that if you are still negotiating $$$ somewhere? They are just waiting till the 'official' end of the season. Florida's ended last night and have not heard any press release from there. Sounds like the guesses are down to one out of one... Chanhillbilly
This team needs a coach that will grab a few facemasks, bench a few players, and generally put the fear of Jesus or unemployment into them. Mooch is not that guy.
No_Pressure
Yes, and we have also forgotten that in Italian, two C's make the "ch" sound. Mariucci. That is all.
