Big Blue Joe
Link Turns out Brandon Jacobs was right. Maybe the Dallas Cowboys should've picked the Detroit Lions for their nationally televised lid-lifter Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium. But certainly, according to Jerry Jones, they could've. Instead, Jones admitted to Newy Scruggs and I minutes ago on 105.3 The Fan that he did indeed pinpoint the New York Football Giants. Me: "Did you hand pick the Giants?" Jerry: "I did. I got to basically have real input into who we'd be playing. And yes, I wanted it to be as highly competitive as it could possibly be as opposed to the other." It's so nice of the NFL to let the Cowboys hand pick their own schedule.

This kind of thing has happened before, not exactly this but teams requesting their cross country trips on consecutive weeks so they don't have to travel multiple times, I know has been done. zeroburrito
he picked a team that would grant the highest ratings for opening the stadium. the ny area is the biggest tv market. the dallas cowboys are the most watched team(by haters and fans). this is just business. would you rather have him pick the lions? that would assure a blowout for the stadium opener. tr1
Does Jerruh get to pick the patsies on Thanksgiving Day, too? How about when his team gets a bye? Some of you fellas may think this is not a big deal, but if you ask me, it undermines the integrity of the game.
zeroburrito
i don't think it matters at all. they chose before the year started. they chose a team they will play anyways. they chose the best team in the nfc if not the nfl. balls of steel jerry...balls of steel(or mush for brains?). ArmchairRedskin
If he had balls of steel he would have asked to play the Redskins, who beat Jerry in his own house last year.
HailGreen28
If any team gets preferential treatment over other teams, that's crooked. I'd feel the same if the Skins got that advantage over other teams.

TD Riggo
LinkIt's so nice of the NFL to let the Cowboys hand pick their own schedule. The league has always favored the Dallass Rednecks. Always will. We just need to be able to give them a twice yearly beat-down and I couldn't care less.

I'm still living off the gloating over beating the 'pukes in their last game in Texass Stadium! And giving Gomer Pyle/Romo sits to pee the _omo his beat down!
