Is the PS3 worth the money?

I say if you've got a nice TV and the desire to watch your movies in blu-ray then yes. Otherwise, no, get an xbox. I've played both systems and the difference in graphics as far as games go just wasn't great enough to convince me to shell out the extra cash to get a PS3
nah i got an OK tv and not that much of a movie watcher

Then probably not worth it for you.

Personally, I watch Blu-rays and plenty of DVD's on a regular basis (the PS3 is an amazing upconverter btw). I also play games as well as music. My son is starting to play it now too. So for me, the PS3 was a no brainer. But it's only that way if you can utilize it.

Otherwise, as stated above, go with the 360.

I own both the 360 and the PS3 and use the 360 95% of the time for gaming. Use the PS3 almost entirely as a Blu-ray player only.

Keep in mind that the new PS3s in production have NO backward compatibility to play old PS2 games, so if you're looking for that feature, you're gonna have to look for used models. Any PS3 made since summer 2008 has no BC. Also, the 40 GB PS3s made from Nov 2007 have no BC (that's the model I have).

To the point of the PS3's value, I feel it is good if you enjoy the controller and games. Graphics and performance-wise gaming its similar to the Xbox 360. Online system is better for the 360, but there you have to pay $30-50/year. PS3 online is free. PS3 has built-in wifi and Blu-ray capabilities which can be important to some.

For me, I prefer the 360's interface, controllers, exclusive games, and online capabilities. I prefer the PS3's Blu-ray ability.

and PS3 doesnt?

Like I said, I've never owned a ps3 but I've heard from a few friends that the online can get a little spotty at times. Whether or not that's because of the PS3 online services or their ISP I don't know. But I don't mind the small fee because like I said, it's always there up and running smoothly for me to play when I want.

From what you have said, sounds like you need to get the PS3 instead of 360.

Online is free for PS3, no worries about RROD, and whenever you upgrade your TV you will have the Blu-Ray player.

yeah im sorta leainging towards the PS3 any game recommendations?
