Going Commando
A bit early but:QB: JC, TC, CB RB: CP, Betts, Aldridge FB: Sellers TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR: Moss, El, Thomas, Kelly, Marko Mitchell OT: Samuels, Heyer, Williams, Jansen OG: Dockery, Rhino, R. Thomas, Clark C: Rabach DE: Carter, Orakpo, Wynn, Daniels, Jackson DT: Haynesworth, Griffin, Monty, Golston, Alexander OLB: McIntosh, Fincher, Wilson, Thomas, Cody Glenn MLB: Fletcher, Blades CB: Hall, Rogers, Smoot, Barnes, Tryon FS: Landry, Moore SS: Horton, Doughty K: Suisham P: Hunter Smith LS: Albright You've got two more open spots for your roster I think. I imagine we'll carry a backup at C/OG beyond just Devin Clark and Jansen, which I guessed will be Edwin Williams. Also I think Henson is a sleeper to make the roster, and I personally hope that Cartwright sticks around too.
Going Commando
You only have four names at safety I think we'll carry only nine defensive backs-- 4 safeties and 5 corners. We aren't going to use any as kick returners so it wouldn't be a huge deal. I also think we'll carry 10 offensive lineman and 9 defensive lineman. since we'll be using one of our 7 linebackers in a swing role.
Going Commando
... Didn't want to quote the whole thing, but I am surprised by a couple other picks too. 6 wide receivers is interesting, but who is Jaison Williams? I haven't heard of him. Same with Will Montgomery, R. Palmer, and Tyson Smith. I think Devin Clark will make the team, and I think Cartwright will still be around too because of what he does on special teams. I think Marko Mitchell will make the roster and Thrash will be the odd man out at receiver this year. He's been a rock on ST for the past couple seasons, we probably won't have anyone to replace him. Going Commando
... That's a solid list. I agree with everything on it except that I think there is a good chance we will go in with 7 linebackers/4 ends (or 5 ends/6 linebackers depending on how they list Wilson/Orakpo) and perhaps 10 offensive linemen and only 4 safeties. If we don't go with 10 offensive linemen, then we'll very probably sign Edwin Williams to the practice squad. Perhaps you're right about Wynn being the odd man out at end. I like Wilson too and I'd hate to see him go elswhere when he might have some valuable versatility. He'll have to prove he is better at linebacker than Orakpo is. Also I'm not so sure about Cody Glenn or Robert Thomas.
IbleedBnG83
Random thought (kind of): I hate the nickname Rhino. Where the heck did it start from? Its not like he is blocking like if he were a Rhino. Just because his name is Rinehart? Shouldn't he wait to deserve a nickname? When do we give nicknames to backups!!!???? Going Commando
... I like the idea of moving Alexander to defensive end and then dumping Wynn. I think Geisinger won't make the team, so we are either going to go in with 10 offensive linemen with Edwin Williams or just 9 and play Devin Clark as the backup C/Guard. I like how we've all assumed Mike Williams will make the team. It'd be a great story and he is the kind of low-risk player that would be great to take a flyer on because of his potential at RT and Guard. I agree, if he can't get his weight low enough to play RT, he can still maul as a backup at RG if he has to while he's getting into shape... Isn't he still 400+ pounds? No way we spend a roster spot on the guy if he can't cut weight, and fast. And I'm not sure he'll be very good anyway. And I'm not sure he'll be very good anyway. There are conflicting reports I believe, but I'm pretty sure he is currently 405, but they are hoping he can get to 370-ish. I don't know how possible that is, but Doc Walker seems to think he looks promising, so who knows...
SkinsNoles21
Hmmm... interesting take. Well it'll be an uphill battle for him that's certain. But I think the coaches will look at him and say "here's a player with a bit of potential. I think he can be a backup special teamer some day. Let's go ahead and pencil him in for our 5th DT spot or backup RT." I'm glad the sarcasm was immediately picked up and you didnt just flame me. DaveButzHelmet
Here's my take on the upcoming 53 man roster: OFFENSE = 24 QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan RB: Portis, Betts, Carwright FB: Sellers TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash WR: Thomas, Kelly LT: Samuels LG: Dockery C: Rabach RG: Thomas RT: Heyer Backup OL: Jansen, M.Williams, Rhinehart, E.Williams DEFENSE= 26 DE: Carter, Wilson, Jackson DT: Haynesworth, Montgomery, Alexander DT: Griffin, Golston DE: Orakpo, Daniels, Wynn OLB: McIntosh, Henson MLB: Fletcher, Blades OLB: Thomas, Fincher CB: Hall, Smoot, Tryon CB: Rogers, Barnes FS: Landry, Moore SS: Horton, Doughty SPECIAL TEAMS = 3 LS: Albright K: Suisham P: H.Smith The way I see it is that there are a few battles on this roster, most notably: CB: Tryon vs. Westbrook for the 5th corner spot OLB: Glenn vs. Henson for the last back up spot(with the loser to the Practice Squad) DE: Do the Skins keep this many DE's? And can the UDFA Walker make the squad? WR: Do one of the new guys make the roster over the extra DE? RB: Does Mason or Aldridge make it as a 4th RB? OL: Do the Skins pick up a free agent to help with depth? Does Burley fight for a spot, or go to the Practice Squad? I also figure that the Skins draft pick Eddie Williams can go to the IR and save space on both the roster and Practice Squad.

tml6157
The RB situation kind of gets on my nerves. We can never really give a person a chance to develop because we have 2 backup RBs that this team refuses to part with. IMO Rock is expendable. He is a decent KR and good on ST but thats it. He is a locker room leader which is true and people say cutting him will ruin team chemistry. But how is it fair that someone who can perform better then him (Mason) doesn't get a chance to develop with the team? IMO we need to either trade Betts or just let Rock go. Rock never gets to carry the ball. The Steelers come to mind when they use their 3rd and sometimes 4th RB to carry the ball in the game to change things up. We dont. Its either Portis or Betts, thats it.

Going Commando
Just wondering why can't Chad Rinehart be a starter. Is he not showing improvement. Jansen is going to be beaten like a drum. I think this idea comes from the front office's now-famous assessment of the roster immediately following the end of the season as reported by JLC. In it, he said that Bugel said something like Rinehart was no where close to being ready to start. I don't know how much stock to put in that because it's by JLC and he's a Debbie Downer and very often a fool. But lacking any other real insight into the situation, we have to take him at his word.
