I was thinking the same thing until i re-watched the Rose Bowl game... I'm not saying one game proves that you are the next Montana, but I don't recall the last time Campbell threw for 413 yards and 4 td's. Penn State isn't a slouch defense either. illone Posted April 24, 2009 Share Posted April 24, 2009 By the way, just so you guys know exactly what it means to win a game with your arm: When the opposing team takes away your run game and you HAVE to pass because you are down a score or two, and the QB HAS to throw it, the other team knows it, and you still win the game. When brady, manning, brees, etc are down more than two scores in any game, you know they always have a chance to come back in the game because of their elite throwing abilities. With Campbell behind center the other team would shut down the run and after that the Skins were DONE. No coming back, no heroics from the QB. THAT's winning the game with your arm. He may go through his progressions, but only when he has a day and a half back there. I think despite his low interception ratio this last year, he struggles with accuracy and ball placement. I do think he will improve from last year, but as to how much will determine whether we should drive on with him or not. Sounds like we may not be going to anyways.... That he's been, in fact, pretty bad in his time as a starter. And of course, as a Redskin fan, I hope he (or whoever our QB is) DOES get good. So I'm rooting for him. And of course he seems like a great guy and a class act- who wouldn't want to see him "get it"? But time is running out I'm afraid. I believe he is a good #2 QB and will be in the league for a while like Ferrotte. If he gets in with the Jets and is not expected to win games just keep them close so the D can do it's thing (like the Ravens do) then he might get to the playoffs. He is good, he's just not above average good or even in that second tier of good to almost-great qb's. There's Peyton, Brady, and Big Ben Then there's Palmer, Eli, Warner, McNabb, Cutler, Brees (no specific order) Then there's the Campbell teir of good qb's Then there's the crappy qb's that get tossed around the league or tossed out of it.
