Tyronne Green OG Auburn -will be a Pro Bowler by year 2. The kid is an absoulte 3rd round steal.

Shonn Green RB Iowa - I also believe would fit our system really well. I know RB isn't high on the list, but I believe the Redskins need to draft BPA is "there" guy isn't there with their pick. I expect them to trade out of 13 and drop back to aquire more 2nd and 3rd picks. This could be selection to could give a little 3 headed monster in Portis, and Betts.

I would like us to trade down and still have a shot at getting Britton, but all 4 OL will be gone after our pick (I anticipate a team trading with us to get the 4th OL) so it's going to be difficult I think for Britton to slip all that way. Still it is possible, and if not we still have a shot at Tyson Jackson. The only thing that sucks is if we do trade down I'd like us to get an OT in the 2nd, but I don't know if there are any with second round grades. Maybe we'll pick up a RG, but I think RT is the priority for the line.

However, if it's between an ok guy at OT and a standout for guard, I'll take the guard. Britton in the low 1st and a big DT in the 2nd would be nice though.

I think if we're in the lower 1st, that unless Britton gets higher grades from us we might wind up going with Peria Jerry so long as the team feels he fits the scheme. He could be available to us, and he seems to be the consensus #2 DT in the draft, which means he'd be rated higher at his position than Britton, Jackson, or likely any other position at that point. I don't know, just speculating, but I've become more and more of the mind lately that we will trade down and that if we go BPA, which we likely will, that it's going to be Jerry.

I've said for the past month that this team really needs to consider drafting a CB early.

Assuming Hall signs, then I would some Carlos Rogers days are numbered until the April's draft. The signing of Hall to me would indicate they will dangle Rogers on draft day (which I disagree with).

At that point, there is no indication that Tyron developed into anything more then a special teams player (and at BEST a situational dime CB). Some may argue that Smoot could fill the void, but I think Smooty is nothing better then a Nickel CB at best.

This kid from CB- Wake Forest Alphonso Smith is certainly a interesting prospect. Great coverage skills in man, and a knack for finding the football. A guy who I feel will be a playmaker.

He's been rumored to end up in a Cover-2 scheme, and his size has been in question (5'9), but I think he has good enough man skills to overcome that.

He does do research....He always has his top 5 by position, and when he does his top 5 juniors he includes ALL juniors, not just ones that are declaring.

What's the point in that?

Why include guys that aren't available to draft?

That makes no sense, he's a DRAFT guru right? Talk about the guys that teams can draft, not the guys that will still be playing college football.

Seems stupid to me, at least put an asterisk or some indication that they're not going out for the draft.

Well I kind of like it, gives ppl that don't get to see all these people a heads up of who to watch next year.

  • 1 year later...

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010OG.php

Mike Johnson, Alabama

Height: 6-5. Weight: 306.

Projected 40 Time: 5.20.

Projected Round (2009): 2-3.

1/17/10: An AP First-Team All-American, Mike Johnson is my No. 1 guard for zone-blocking teams.

2/10/09: A major reason for Alabama's return to glory. Mike Johnson was voted to the All-SEC Second Team. He started every game, 12 at guard and one at left tackle.

7/28/08: The bookend tackle across from Andre Smith, Mike Johnson started every game as a sophomore. Johnson seems like he would be a better fit as a guard at the next level.

We must get another 2nd or EARLY 3rd round pick!!! Trade Rodgers, trade Campbell, trade someone!!!! :D

Come on people, OP is comparing the drafts and showing Kiper did a good job last year of ranking by position. He appears to have hit more often then miss.

Unfortunately, Kiper doesn't project how well that player will do. If this is a weak QB class, being number 1 doesn't mean much.

Edit: Wow, he has Suh as number three tackle.

My error didn't notice it was just bumped, have to say that Kiper did a pretty good job last year with his top five by position. I thought Bubba edited the thread with Kiper's current selection.

Have to create a thread after the combine with Kiper's updated selection and compare it with last year's to see how accurate he is and was.

 First he couldn't stop himself for creating new threads and now bumping old draft thread.

:allhail: Thank you Mr. Perfect for gracing us with your presence.

:wtf:

Maybe if the search option worked then this would be a little easier. I could not stop myself from wondering why we were not debating something interesting instead of .............
