artmonkforHOF
A buddy of mine and me have been going back and forth on this for a while. Google, football dictionaries and answer.com have turned up nothing useful. The term "road grader" for a O lineman: what does it mean? It comes up in some draft prospects profiles "he's a road grader type of blocker." I say it's a strong dude who consistently puts his opponents on their back, essentially flattening them, hence the term road grader. My buddy says it's a blocker who has good lateral movement and covers a lot of ground. I don't see how that would relate to a "road grader" but he is pretty sure of this. We have both found articles that can be read to support both of our arguments. So who is right or are we both out to lunch on this one?
Slacky McSlackAss
I always used to refer to a O-Lineman that flattens opponents. So I would agree with you.
Die Hard
A road-grader type of blocker is an offensive lineman who is a dominant run blocker.... who dominates his opposition at the point of attack and moves him out of the way of the hole. diesel22
When I think of 'Road Grater' lineman I think of Joe Jacoby. Of course, he fitted all those characteristics because he destroyed everything in his path but he was also agile (pulled him a lot when we ran counter-trey)

HOF44
This is a road grader it levels roads. So in football terms it would be a blocker who levels his opponent.
Predicto
In football terms, it's a dominant run blocker. A straight ahead kind of guy. Think Tre Johnson, not Chris Samuels.
