Talk about a changing of the gaurd; Coach Gibbs last off-season, Cowher before him; now Denver and Tampa this, along with Dungy hanging up his hat. And then you throw in all the rookie HC's getting a shot the past few years. Through retirement, time off, or being replaced, the NFL Coaching picture sure is changing. This one has surprised me. Seems by waiting they may have missed out on some quality candidates, especially assistants. Maybe they already have someone in mind who they KNOW will be available. Gruden was always able to scrape out offensive production out of poor talent, but the player procurement during his reign with GM Bruce Allen was awful. It's unclear if Allen will stay, but he's been a terrible drafter dating back to his Oakland days.
