MattFancy
wow! can't say i saw this one coming. that now leaves 2, yes 2, coaches in the nfl that have won a super bowl. belichick and coughlin. pretty hard to believe...
JoeSkins
No, but Bruce Allen was also fired and he should be a guy worth looking at. Bring back some Allen!
BigRedskinDaddy
According to Rotoworld, Garrett is on a plane as we speak to St. Louie. They hinted it could be to take the HC job. Good looking out, HZ. I'll believe that when I read it, though; Jerruh will no doubt want some conditional picks as compensation should any other team try to lure away one of HIS guys (no matter how overrated he may be). bubba9497
Gruden must have ticked someone off and to think he turned down the Tennessee job, too boot

CPortJGibbs89
Lions OC?You think he would settle for a OC position instead of trying to be a coach elsewhere?
BigRedskinDaddy
Lions OC? You think he would settle for a OC position instead of trying to be a coach elsewhere? I don't. Not only that, I thought JG's forte was defense, not offense -- although I'm by no means sure about that...? heck, just going by his Tampa Bay offenses I have to assume that's true. BigMike619
WOW! just plain ol wow. He never did get a franchise QB going though. Kind of like Billick.

HigSkin
Shanahan to TB? He or maybe Cowher. It seems an odd time to announce it. Makes you think they have been working a deal where the coach wants complete control. :2cents:
Gymratfwp
Dallass will demote Wade Phillips to D Coordinator and pick up Gruden as HC. Just a feeling.
skinfan2k
Would Gruden go back to Oakland?
Hiro
Would Gruden go back to Oakland? Heck no. He probably has about as much of a chance ending up in back in Oakland as Shanahan does. This should be an interesting situation to look at. At this point, my guess would be that they go after Spagnuolo. He'd be a perfect candidate for reviving the feared Bucs D, and they need to maintain stronger defense in order to compete in a division that has Drew Brees and a maturing Matt Ryan. tr1
I'm in Tampa...leaving tomorrow. Folks are very happy with this firing. If the Eagles had had a bad season this year, I could have seen him in Philly. Now? Maybe a job with Minny?
ABSTRACT
He better not mak ehis way over here!!! We don't need that maniac. I think he is very mediocre after succeeding from Dungy's success. I hope Snyder keeps Zorn for as long as they kept Gruden.
Birdlives
Shanahan to TB? Beat me to it. $$$ to doughnuts this is what's what. Bet the Glazers got their checkbook ready for the Rooney Rule fine and everything. Its a perfect storm. They got rid of both the GM and WCO coach. They already have a solid defense and DC in place. Shanahan likely got fired from Denver not because of coaching but because he wouldnt give up the personel side. It all makes too much sense.
