Luca Brasi
According to Warren Sapp on the NFL Network, Jason Taylor told Sapp that the Redskins have benched him. Sapp repeated it several times. Has this been previously reported?
PCS
Well now this interesting. First I've heard/read about it. Guess we're going to find out later today if anything.
Soup
Not for the whole game. He just won't start. I think Evans is the starter.
Kurd Cudins
Good. With respect to the LDE position, Evans > Taylor
ALLWORLD
that is awesome. He has not earned anything as of yet other than a wonder as to what those picks we are giving up will turn into long after he is retired.
Soup
I heard it this week from one of the many interviews that the skin media makes. I'll try to find it. They said Taylor would be used as a situtation DE and Evan would get the start. I think its the best move, the guy is a liability in the run game. I see him just watch a runner blow by him while he's just standing there Here is JLC talking about it http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/11/jason_taylor_-_situational_pas.html

kappaluvacee
Maybe the benching will light a fire under him.

DWinzit
Benched No...D .Evans is the Starter, Taylor is a 3rd down pass rusher....Makes sense, plus Evans may move inside on third downs.
Recent Vintage
This is a horrible idea. They guy is the NFL's active sack leader. He's been a 4 down lineman ever since he got into the league. If this is anything other than trying to make sure he's healthy for the stretch then I really hope there's something going on that I don't know about. Evans is a great blue-collar player, but he's no Jason Taylor, and when this defense's only weakness is lack of sacks, benching JT doesn't make any logical sense. McD5
Play the guy where he should be lined up, and we will see a better result. It isn't like AC is exactly ripping it up over there.

I actually agree with you on this one. Rotate Andre and J.T. on drives or something.

Exactly. Or at the very least move them both around on occasion. I'll start small.
Soup
If Blache made the move then there has to be a reason for it. Everyone knows Blache doesn't give a rat's tail about what everyone thinks, he'll sit a 9 million dollar player and not blink twice. If Evans gets the start you know Blache saw something he didn't like.
SMOSS89
Jason Taylor also hasn't gotten to the QB as much, so w/e.
redskins59
They should play him on the right side, because Andre Carter hasn't done anything this year. The right side is Jason Taylor's preferred side, where he is much more devastating. Put Andre Carter on the left side...maybe he'll be more effecting there. If Evans gets the start you know Blache saw something he didn't like.[/quote']Well, what he probably doesn't like is the fact that we've been soft against the run. I think also it is because Evans has been doing a good job out there and Taylor is still working his way back from injury. I still expect that he will be in there a lot, and this "Benched" thing is just an inflammatory statement by Sapp.
Chiefinonhaze
9 MIll for a 3rd down pass rusher? One would think 9 mill would get you an every down defensive end.
skinned em'
IMO evans should have been the starter on the end for the past 3-4 seasons. Hes no world beater, but he's been the most consistant.
Hunter_R
At this rate, I doubt he'll stay another season like he said.
tiger187126
why not put JT at OLB where washington would play (not the whole game of course)? i'm sure he could cover a short zone and i saw him standing up blitzing against dallas.
Stophovr6
Good. Jason's stat line against the Cowboys was a flat line.

jnhay
They'll get it figured out eventually. I just hope the situation is fixed sooner rather than later. Maybe I'm just optimistic, but I don't think we've seen the full potential of Jason Taylor.
