Yeah I play, a little too much to be honest. Poker is legal in CA, and I live right down the block from both Hustler Casino and Hollywood Park Casino. I usually play $100 No Limit Hold 'Em with $1-$2 blinds. I consider myself a good player who plays tight, although I need to get a little better with my reads, often I can get bluffed off a hand if my opponent bets strong enough. I am getting better, and one day I will win a World Series bracelet. Bet on that.

First time I played at Hustler about a year and a half ago, I walked in and I see Phil Ivey, Brian Hennigan, Chip Reese, Barry Greenstein, and Ted Forrest all playing 7 Card Stud with Larry Flynt. The game is $2000-$4000 stud, and that is limit mind you. All playing with $1000 chips. I want to get in that game.

Pot limit Omaha is a very under-rated game.

Lots of action.

i love this game. its a drawing game so it can be extremely frustrating when your made hand gets cracked by a big draw, but thats Omaha.

i dont like hi/lo but PL omaha is a great game, especially for somebody trying to transition from hold em.

Lucky you. If i want to hit the casino i have to drive 3 hours to Atlantic City. There are lots of live games in my area but im weary of most of them. Games get robbed every now and again, i for one dont want a gun in my face.

I like to play limit Hold'em if I am playing with my own money. Usually $5-$10 and $10-$20.

I hate playing No limit Hold'em in a casino, with the $1NL play is too amatuerish (poker palyers of any skill will know what I am talking about) and it sucks when someone at the table gets a big bank roll and just goes all in every hand, takes the fun out of the game IMO.

$5NL at Casino's I don't seem to have a big enough bankroll for, as people will sit down with $500 minimum, usually $1000.

I will play NL in tournaments when it is not my own money (like paying $10 online for a toruney or $100 at a casino).

I have only been to the Casino 4 times since March, doubled up my first time and the last 3 times I went, doubled up in less than an hour, then proceeded to give it all back in the next 4 hours.

I have stayed away from online poker rooms as it is too easy for people to cheat. Just the other day I went to visit my cousin at his dorm, the other 4 guys where all playing online, most with multiple tables, some with multiple accounts in the same game/tournament, and they where all sharing info with each other. The big sites like Pokerstars, Full Tilt etc, consistently drop 20% of their players every month for suspecion of cheating, and those are the ones who get caught, I would suspect as high as 70% of people gambling online are cheating.

I used to play online a lot, and actually got pretty good at the table stakes Low Limit Hold 'Em game, and found that I could turn a modest deposit into a decent pay check with some time spent grinding. I'm a more conservative player (rock) which is why I like Low Limit because it favors conservative playing. I used to be able to with a great deal of regularity finish in the top three in single table sit and go tournaments. But, once the money was taken out of the online game it became quite boring.

As such I haven't played much poker in quite some time, I'd love to get into a weekly home game with some good players who aren't all about flashing cash, unfortunately hosting a poker game at the church parsonage doesn't seem like its going to be happening any time soon.

I used to make my truck payment and pay about half of my rent each month with poker money off the internet.

I had a decent sized bankroll and I would move my money around from site to site to take advantage of monthly bonuses.

Combine poker winnings plus bonuses I was making quite a bit each month but when congress passed that law which ended sites such as firepay those days were over.

Plus many sites either went out of business or banned American players, Empire and Party Poker banning American players really killed me because they were very good about giving out bonuses for hands played each month.

I'm still very bitter about the whole thing but in the end I still made my truck payment for almost 3 years with nothing but poker winnings. Sucks having that money come out of my paycheck now!

If some politician would promise to reverse this idiotic decision to end internet poker (or try) I'd vote for them, no matter what party.

Yep online poker is pretty much fixed. Google poker star cheats and see what you come up with.

Here is a youtube about someone cheating the system.

Yea the PotRipper scandal really opened a lot of peoples eyes to the level of cheating that has been going on online. People have been sharing info for years, but someone who was able to see hole cards is another ball game.

If i remember correctly, he got caught when the runner up to a huge multi table tourney emailed the support staff because this guy called off all of his chips with 10 high to win the tourney. The looked at his history and found out that hed been doing this for a looong time. I think he was one of the original computer geeks who created AP.

I play at PokerStars and im sure that ive been cheated before without knowing it. For this reason i rarely play cash games or sit n gos online, too many people playing together. The multi table tourneys are harder for players to link up and share info.

Good job man. I stopped playing a while ago but ripped off some nice wins at one point on full tilt. I gave a bunch back before i disabled my account.

Yup I just played and lost $1000 last night. I should really stop playing but its too much damn fun. I think the biggest problem is I've won so much money in the past that playing lower limits now is "boring".

I feel the same way. I used to play higher limits but the swings became too much to deal with so i play smaller games now. Problem being that the players at these table are incapable of laying down a hand and the suckouts become a dime a dozen.

Wow you have gotta be the only person ive ever met who has had the ability to delete their account. Everyone says they are going to but the addiction keeps them coming back!
