TSO
http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=36991 1:45 p.m. ET Cerrato On Thomas Vinny Cerrato was on Redskins Nation on Thursday and said the team expects Devin Thomas to be sidelined for "a couple weeks" due to the hamstring injury. Thomas could miss the Redskins' Hall of Fame Game against the Indianapolis Colts on Aug. 3. He could be ready by mid-August and available to play on Aug. 9 against Buffalo. "That's where having the extra preseason game and coming in early helps," Cerrato said. "If he can get back, he should be able to play in four preseason games. BigMike619
nice, thanks for clearing that up. Now we dont have to pick up Eric Parker thank God!!
TSO
I don't think I was worried about Thomas' hammy sidelining him for much time, but I just hated the possibility of a rookie having to miss a lot of practice or preseason games... this is great news if he's able to get 4 preseason games in like Vinny said! We should all be thanking God it's not worse and hope that Thomas heals it up completely before doing anything!

TSO
^^ Now let's just hope Chris Wilson has an even lesser injury and is back in no time!
SkinsGuy
Good news. Better to happen now, rather than later in the preseason.

Heidenreich
Wait, so his hamsting pull didn't end his season? I'm shocked......
IbleedBnG83
Hopefully they work out the strain with plenty of rehab.
Neophyte
The question is...do we believe Vinny?
StillUnknown
hopefully he won't miss too much practice time. Malcolm Kelly will definitely have the early edge for the #3 receiver.
IbleedBnG83
Huh...I see how much they like Mix. "Zorn said that wide receiver Billy McMullen, a fourth-year player with NFL stints in Philadelphia and Minnesota, could see a jump in playing time in place of Thomas." Heidenreich
The question is...do we believe Vinny? Good point. Maybe we're fooling eveyone so the Jets have to game plan for him during the pre-season.....
RunClintonRun26
Reading this morning that he was carted off the field definitely worried me . . . but this is truly great news. I'd rather him sit out two pre-season games just to be on the safe side . . . we don't want that hammy to act up again. IMO three pre-season games is more than enough work. Xero21
This increases the chance of Malcolm Kelly beating out Thomas on the depth chart by a lot.
IbleedBnG83
The question is...do we believe Vinny? In a situation like this, we have no reason not to. Whats to gain?

BALLz
I'd rather him wait until the last 3 preseason games just to be sure he's 100%

#1AZRedskinfan
My real concern about D.Thomas missing pre-season games for one, is an all around new system in place. Timing, routes and NFL jitters are huge for development as a rookie.
703souljah
he is already back on the practice field for the afternoon practice according the redskinsblog he walked out with a wrap around his hamstring http://theredskinsblog.com/
IbleedBnG83
It sounded like it wasn't all that serious and he could actually probably return sooner than later, but the whole missing the first HOF game is more precautionary than anything. I bet by the Buffalo game he is not only ready but has been ready to go.
