Seems as though he bases these picks on the team with the best player. Picking the viks is like picking the cubs, you don't do it until they actually win something. Every time they get close the Viks end up sucking eggs once more. Remember when they were suppose to blow us out in the NFC championship game awhile back....if they even get a sniff at it this year, they will end up losing...

It must be nice to have a job like this. Write an article, about 1 team who you think is going to win. Pick a team no one else thinks about, and write about all their positives. Do it early enough, so wehn the season actaully comes around, no one remembers it. Then you never mention the article again. If that team does win, then You get to claim you picked the team and no one else did! It's genius actually...

The Bears made the SB with Grossman. Since when do you have to have a great qb to make the SB in the NFC?

Yes, but the Viks do not have the Bears defense, who could win games with almost no help from the offense.

Until the Viks get a QB who can at least keep the defense honest, they aren't going to be competitive.

 People on this site ***** if the prognosticators pick the favorites, like the Patriots or Colts.

People ***** if they pick someone other than the favorites, like the Vikes with AD and Jared Allen.

Geez......what do you people want?

I will tell you what I want...way less media opinion nonsense...

Just let them line up and play, old skool style. There was a reason we liked football in the 50's 60's and 70's....Cause the game was great and that was all that was needed...

Oh I agree that the Bears D was a different story.

Same thing when Trent Dilfer was the SB quarterback.

Just saying, it is a total myth that you need a great QB to make at least one appearance in the SB in the weaker NFC.

The Vikings D, with the addition of Allen, doesn't exactly suck.

Minny has a great D. But one of two things would have to happen for this scenario to even be realistic. Either their D becomes as great as the Ravens D in 2000, or Tavaris Jackson or Booty steps up at QB. Minny has a great D, but is no 2000 Ravens, even with Jared Allen. The likelihood of either Tavaris or Booty stepping up in a major way is even less likely.

I'm not even going to get in to how stupid it is to pick a Superbowl winner in June.

They also don't have Devin Hester.

Yeah, he picked the Saints last year. In reading his articles it's almost like he enjoys his ineptitude.

Nobody should make a Super Bowl pick until week 4 of the season but everybody makes a preseason prediction. This year's chic pick (80% of prognosticators) will be Patriots and Cowboys.

As the Giants proved last year, all you have to do is get into the playoffs & anything can happen.

I don't think the vikings are that good. I also don't think the Packers, Lions, and Bears are that good either. So there's a chance that the Vikings could win the division.

The playoffs start, AP goes nuts for a couple of weeks, next thing you know the Vikings are Super Bowl Champions.....

Who cares? They lost, partially because of his poor play. And anyways, if you ask me Grossman is a better QB than Jackson, and that's saying something.

Well...if you really think about it the Vikes arn't that dumb of a pick

for you consideration

1. Yes Tavaris Jackson did suck last year...but who was he throwing to? there best reciever was a rookie they picked in the second round...Now they have Berrian to compliment Rice

2. That defensive line is unquestionbly the best in the league...and as we all saw last year...a great d-line can win you a ring

3. AP and Taylor...not much really needs to be said about this

4. They play in the NFC North

5. They play in the NFC period

At least he didn't pick the cowgirls like every single other writer in the country
