HBnotBlades
Wow, great move by portis. It's sure going to be hard to watch #21 run around out there though.
downwithdallas
You are the man Clinton !!!!!
2006Skins
That's great. Another reason to love CP. I know Clinton will be able to live up to the #21.
Winning Season Please!
I love the move. I hope it is for a limited time (like one game or just this season) then retire the number.
HailSkins21
I love the bond those two shared, I think Sean would be proud to have his close friend honor him in that way. Good job CP!
TODD
I think it's a heartfelt gesture and I think we all can appreciate it. Honestly, though, I think I'd rather have 21 remain Sean's number... retire it. All of a sudden it's a sacred number in our history.

nace14
i think what is the cruelest thing about this whole situation is not the fact that a sensless act of murder caused so much pain to sean but the fact that that pain perminates to so many more people then just sean. the pain that those closest to him seems to almost outweigh the pain that he went through in dying. that really speaks volumes for the type of guy sean was. and for clinton to take this action to deal with it, speaks volume to the type of guy he is. NicholSkin
Yeah, I wonder what the NFL says. They wouldn't even let Jake Plummer wear a sticker to honor Pat Tillman.
kuraitengai
I expect CP to be in full on beast mode for the remainder of the year.most definitely. get ready to see a portis that we've never seen before.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
That's pretty neat. (Just as an aside, next week is going to be total chaos. The team is going to fly to play Sunday, fly to Florida, and then play Thursday. Yikes. Good thing they are both home games).
@DCGoldPants
They just asked Mr. Snyder and Coach about the #21 and they only mentioned a sticker on the helmet and patch of the Jersey.
ramirez415
Man , I won't be able to hold it back on Sunday. Im sure Ill shed a tear, especially seeing CP out their in that #21.
HOF44
I hope it has the Taylor nameplate still on it. And I hope the league let's it go.

kuraitengai
They just asked Mr. Snyder and Coach about the #21 and they only mentioned a sticker on the helmet and patch of the Jersey. and he said on every helmet in the league. that would be amazing. mom2boys
Way to go CP! We'll be at the game on Sunday, and I can only imagine how emotional it will be.
dfbovey
most definitely. get ready to see a portis that we've never seen before. Honestly, I really hope so. But I don't think I want to put any expectations on this team or any individual player given the circumstances.
SkinsWizCubsDukes
retire 21 at the end of the year. ST is a redskin this year, 21 needs to be out on the field before he goes up into the ring. Clinton will carry the lead and join Talyor in the ring ultimately. Run as hard as you can CP
onnie007
Class act and I'm glad he's a Redskin. Remember folks, he also helped bring Sean Taylor here. He was in Joe Gibbs' ear about Sean Taylor. I love CP. R.I.P. Sean Taylor
[[ghost]]
First, Clinton flies all the way out to Miami just to be with the guy. Then, he breaks down publically when addressing the man's death. Finally, he commits the ultimate act of respect and dons Taylor's number. If there is any one person the entire league should adore, its Clinton Portis. I hope he gets 500 yards rushing in that jersey this Sunday. Cowboys12
This is probably the coolest thing I've ever witnessed in all of sports. Good job Portis!
Mr. S
I don't like the idea. It's a very nice gesture and the intentions are great, but I don't want to see anyone else in that number on the Redskins unless they are related to Taylor.
