BMahoney
I know, I know its way to early to even imagine such an accomplishment for the season. But you have to admit this guy has proved he is one of the most valuable players to any team in the nfl, he gets in the endzone, blocks as good as any back in the league. I must admit over the off season I was hoping to see about a 60-40 split with him and Betts but after watching just two games Portis appears to be the heart and soul of the redskins offense once again. Now that Campbell is showing D's that he is not afraid to go deep at all Portis is only going to get better. Im excited for the rest of the season. stoney26
Portis plays every play like its his last and has done so since he has been here. I was thinking the same thing about Portis and Betts splitting carries but its obvious it needs to be Portis and Portis untill he needs a blow. Betts should come in in spot situations. fdarugar
He is on pace for 1300+ and 16 TDs, def. Pro Bowl numbers. MVP? Maybe if we go 14-2 or better.
drowland
Way way too early to imagine. Hell, right now you could argue Matt Schaub and Jon Kitna are worthy MVPs.

sikizler
Yeah Portis looks like OUR MVP but his numbers aren't going to be gaudy enough for the league's prize. The blocks and "jacked-up" hits on intercepters aren't going to get him any consideration but they will win us games.

SkinSince87
as the season goes on he will get more touches cause when betts comes in there is a considerable drop off, and he needs more catches

If we go 14-2 and Portis only has 1300yds Campbell will be the MVP Now if Portis steps up and gets somthing like 1800yds maybe. I hope he has a Game next week like he use to have in the afc west

GOSKINS_08
Like i've said the whole time, we need Portis..Some people think Betts is better, but I think Portis is playing great right now, and he's showing how dominant he can be..Betts is a great 2nd RB, and gives us a great 1-2 punch at RB!! SonnyRules
Portis = Best blocking back in the league, hands-down.
illone
Tom Brady will be the league MVP if he keeps playing like he has the past two weeks. Portis will need 20+ TDs and 1500 Yards to even get consideration.
rainmkr
The one thing that makes my eyes pop when I see Portis is the hits he makes on plays that he isn't carrying the ball. Say what you will about him but jesus he lays some wood on guys blitzing at times..and I love his blocks downfield for WRs sometimes.
pjfootballer
I'd say Redskins MVP on offense so far. But then again it's only 2 games. Hope he keeps up the pace.
RandyHolt
Portis, the best hitting RB in the league. Is there any doubt??
McD5
He was mediocre last night.....and when compared to Betts running for 172 yards the last time we played Philly, he was pretty weak. I was surprised that Gibbs didn't play Betts a lot more than he did. Especially when we weren't scoring points in the middle of the game. In spite of this, we won, and that is all that matters. No. You were surprised Gibbs didn't play Betts more because you can't imagine being WRONG about which player deserves to play more. There is a BIG difference. phishisthegreatstuff
he has played solid...but i would like to see him run for more yards. Overall he looks very good though and he should only get better as the season goes on.
