5 - 3 at the 1/2 way point

USS Redskins

No matter how you put it, this week is huge for the NFC East. The Redskins could go into this game with the chance to take the lead in the East. If the Gspots lose to the Packers, which is very possible, and the Cowboys lose to the Dolphins (i don't know how much of a chance there is of this happening) all we have to do is beat Philly and we're in the lead.

WAS: 2-0

Philly: 0-2

Giants: 0-2

Dallas: 1-1

I mean, if we win we are no matter what at the top and tied with Dallas. But think about how terrible a start that'd be for the Giants and Philly. I don't know if it's a must win game, but certainly could be used as a HUGE advantage in the race to the playoffs. We win this game, and we'll go 6-0. Christ, 6-0.

I think right now that looks doable... I am not a real big fan of predicting stuff but what the heck:

vs Miami W 1-0

at Eagles L 1 -1 - Hate to say it but MNF in Philly

vs NYG W 2 -1 - Have to have this - a division game at home

Bye

vs Detroit W 3-1 - -b/c they are Detroit and the skins always kick them around

at Gbay W 4-2 Who knows - they have to win 1 NFC away game

vs Arizona W 5-2 - b/c they are AZ but they play the Skins tough

at NE L 5-3 any given sunday but not this one - but the Patriots are not allowed to cheat anymore.......

5-3 would be incredible. Matching 2006's win total.... they would still need 5 more to make the playoffs, maybe 4. I will leave that to someone else's post.

I am tinking more along the lines of this:

at Eagles - L 1-1

vs Giants - W 2-1

Bye

vs Lions - W 3-1

at Packers - L 3-2 (Could be a win, but the bye screws up momentum)

vs Cardinals - W 4-2 (Could be a loss that starts a downward spiral)

at Patriots - L 4-3

at Jets - L 4-4 (In Medowlands, depends on the health of Pennington)

I can even predict the next eight as well

vs Eagles - W 5-4

@ Cowboys - L 5-5

@ Bucs - W 6-5

vs Bills - W 7-5

vs Bears - W 8-5 (momentum win, Skins D wins it)

@ Giants - W 9-5

@ Vikings - W 10-5

vs Cowboys - W 11-5 (BIG Game, Possibly for Division Title)

NOW, if they lose to the Cards at home they could end up with 6 straight losses and lose to bears, get swept by the Cowboys, lose to the bears and Vikings to end up 6-10.

I don't know about the losses to the Jets/Packers. I'm not sold on the Packers yet, but it seems like they have a stout defense. Just no offense. If our offense does well this week, regardless of whether we win or lose, I think we'll beat the Packers. We'll beat the Jets too.

Those predictions/scores seem pretty reasonable. You don't think we'll beat the Eagles at home?

Given the teams we play, 5-3 should be a absolute minimum to shoot for. We have to take care of the 4 patsies at FedEx and then win at least one of those 4 road games (the one at Green Bay seems to be the most likely one). I still think the HOME game against Philly is going to be the most critical one of the season.
