ashburnskinsfan
Weather is not going to be pretty tomorrow. Though the most alarming National Weather Service report I ever saw the one for Katrina ... they were accused of being alarmist when they issued it ... EXTREMELY DANGEROUS HURRICANE KATRINA CONTINUES TO APPROACH THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DELTA DEVASTATING DAMAGE EXPECTED MOST OF THE AREA WILL BE UNINHABITABLE FOR WEEKS...PERHAPS LONGER. AT LEAST ONE HALF OF WELL CONSTRUCTED HOMES WILL HAVE ROOF AND WALL FAILURE. ALL GABLED ROOFS WILL FAIL... LEAVING THOSE HOMES SEVERELY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. THE MAJORITY OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS WILL BECOME NON FUNCTIONAL. PARTIAL TO COMPLETE WALL AND ROOF FAILURE IS EXPECTED. ALL WOOD FRAMED LOW RISING APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL BE DESTROYED. CONCRETE BLOCK LOW RISE APARTMENTS WILL SUSTAIN MAJOR DAMAGE...INCLUDING SOME WALL AND ROOF FAILURE. HIGH RISE OFFICE AND APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL SWAY DANGEROUSLY...A FEW TO THE POINT OF TOTAL COLLAPSE. ALL WINDOWS WILL BLOW OUT. AIRBORNE DEBRIS WILL BE WIDESPREAD...AND MAY INCLUDE HEAVY ITEMS SUCH AS HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND EVEN LIGHT VEHICLES. SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND LIGHT TRUCKS WILL BE MOVED. THE BLOWN DEBRIS WILL CREATE ADDITIONAL DESTRUCTION. PERSONS...PETS...AND LIVESTOCK EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL FACE CERTAIN DEATH IF STRUCK. POWER OUTAGES WILL LAST FOR WEEKS...AS MOST POWER POLES WILL BE DOWN AND TRANSFORMERS DESTROYED. WATER SHORTAGES WILL MAKE HUMAN SUFFERING INCREDIBLE BY MODERN STANDARDS. THE VAST MAJORITY OF NATIVE TREES WILL BE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED. ONLY THE HEARTIEST WILL REMAIN STANDING...BUT BE TOTALLY DEFOLIATED. FEW CROPS WILL REMAIN. LIVESTOCK LEFT EXPOSED TO THE WINDS WILL BE KILLED.

no1fanofno21
i'm one of the few freaks that anticipates winter. BRING ON THE COLD AND SNOW!!!!!!!!! me too. Horray for the crazy people in SoMar that freak out with the smallest amount of accumulation, buying bread and milk and of course cancelling school before the next day. No seriously im a huge skier, love it. Can't wait till january going out to Utah. Where there are true mountains compared to the small hills in MD and PA. Huly
This just came from my HQ The latest weather information from 12th Avn Weather is: Tornado watch thru 1800 today. A storm mass reported earlier has passed us to the west. There is currently a thunderstorm in the Richmond area, which is being monitored. Current activity indicates it may pass Fort Belvoir to the east. .42 inch of rain has fallen as of 1300. As conditions will be favorable thru 1800 for tornado formation, all personnel are urged to ensure they know their activity’s designated safe place for tornado events. Search out an inner room or one with the least amount of windows on the lowest level of your building. Announcement of installation operations curtailment is not being considered. In a tornado event, staying in place and taking precautions is the preferred measure
