ConcordNCSkinsFan
Looking for anybody with information on guys who will be free agents in the offseason because the most expensive ones will probably be Redskins next season. I know I've heard Nate Clements and Dwight Freeney mentioned in other posts. Who else?
nace14
i think we can budget peyton manning's salery under the cap somehow.

skinfan2k
u cant overpay peyton manning he is worth it... the redskins normally overpay for average talent.. the redskins are too dumb to pay dwight freeney money but they will do it for andre carter.. im sure the redskins will overpay a cb who has 5 ints and start 1 game
LiveStrongSkins
Just find any decent player with average stats over the age of 29. Theyll be the highest paid at their position ever.
MRMADD
The funny thing is that if the Skins sign Clements and Freeney, you'll see all kinds of guys predicting the Superbowl again. They just don't get it. The Skins have to fix their core structural problems before adding a player or two makes any difference.
inevitable
We'll find some super smart guys who will fight their guts out who will fit in with this good group of guys. We'll give them all 7 year 30 million dollar contracts.

Darc Requiem
We won't have the cap room we had this year so the point is moot. I just hope we actually hold on to some draft picks from now on. Do we have any left to trade?

Interestingly, almost all of them were coming off a bad season. Only Randy Thomas and ARE don't fit this mold. The young talented guys they've found (Portis, Moss) have been acquired via trade, not free agency.
SkinsFTW
We wont get Freeney. Imagine how much the Redskins would have to pay that guy. 7 years 65M or so since it is the Redskins we are talking about. Think overrated and one dimentional and your on the right track, at least following the trend started before this season.

Taylor4Life
Let's trade JC so we can get Patrick Ramsey back. Man, that guy was good. He was super smart and he played his guts out.
Mr. S
Mark Brunell's salary number jumps up big in 2007. If he is still on the team, we sure as heck are overpaying him. I agree with Livestrong though, those are our ideal players. Maybe we should get Warren Sapp, Brentson Buckner, and Junior Seau as well.
red dot in a sea of blue
We should start looking for undrafted free agents from Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Princeton..... You can be taught how to fight your guts out, but you can't be taught how to be Super Smart.....
ahudson
My nightmare is that we go after Trent Green. That would assume we keep Saunders and everything else in place. I think Trent is good, but that is not were we need to be headed.

dfbovey
The most logical overpayed bust of a move looks like Tony Gonzalez. Fox News said that he's opting out of his contract and hitting the open market next year.
Shadowplay
I just hope if we get some we dump the dead weight too. That would be a classic Skins move, sign somebody for a whole lot more who's on the downslope of his career while letting the younger, cheaper and more upside guy in Cooley leave.
