JPM285181
The Gibbs Brunell infatuation continues........................
70th Week
Very strange. He went out of his way not to mention the obvious. If you took Gibbs' word apparently Mark Brunnel is the only thing not wrong with the passing game. seems as though he is willing to throw a unit under the bus or anyone else besides boonell...just sickening....
Tulane Skins Fan
is he selling out portis now?
Destino
is he selling out portis now? no. I think it's the opposite he's reassuring the press that there is no rift between he and Portis.
Winning Season Please!
seems as though he is willing to throw a unit under the bus or anyone else besides boonell...just sickening.... If he calls out a group, he doesn't have to say an individual's name. Classic Gibbs. Chicken$#!%.
REEGSKINS
i cant understand why he is so protective of brunell. he actually praised him. either he is wearing beer goggles or he is playing with the media/fans. he is kinda insulting our intelegance. actually i feel alot more stupid listening to this presser. Supreme Wu
I think the media might be waiting until next week, Wilbon mentioned in the Chat House today that next week is when the controversy would start. Unfortunate if you believe as I do that next week is a sub-par test, and it will show nothing if we win (although if we lose it will be a calamity and heads must roll at that point). Tulane Skins Fan
how come he is smart enough to judge portis on production, but not brunell?
AUskins
I dont feel well listening to this. I mean you dont have to throw Mark under the bus, but cmon he played terrible. At least be honest somehow.
REEGSKINS
Tell me someone has the balls to ask the though questions. we need b. mitch in press row. these guys are scared to lose their job or something.
Ghost of
Very strange. He went out of his way not to mention the obvious. If you took Gibbs' word apparently Mark Brunnel is the only thing not wrong with the passing game. And people really TRULY believe that Patrick wasn't short-changed here and that he had no reason to ask to leave? Ever remember him throwing Patrick any verbal bones after a mediocre performance like he does Mark? He puts so much stock in 'mental toughness' at the QB position but then doesn't look at the mental shortcomings of HIS guy. Notice how Gibbs started off somewhat nervous and now he's not getting any QB questions he's started to get more comfortable? hmm.

skinzplay
Next week won't mean a doggone thing because Gibbs will lean on Al Saunders (note his comments about running the ball during the press conference), and you won't see Brunell passing the ball much at all. That will shield him from displaying his GROSS ineptitude at accurately delivering the ball to wide open receivers. This stinks.
Chris Worthy
Someone asked him if he can break down the issues with the Offense and he pretty much said everyone but the QB, am I dreaming?
NattyLight
There you have it: O-Line is one of the strongest parts of our team...must be the QB, oh wait, nevermind it's the false starts [made byt the O-Line] that's the problem. What are you talking about Gibbs?!?
GSF
Say it aint so coach! Why are you doing this? You must think we're all idiots.

Oh yea I forgot, you got to get them the ball.
AUskins
Right he mentioned that making passes was line, backs and receivers. Never mentioned QB.

Fred Jones
I guess the staff just doesn't have enough confidence in JC or Collins. They believe that Brunell is still the best option at this point.
