My price for gas: $2.17/gallon

Gee thanks George, for making us think 2.50 for a gallon of gas is a good deal.

Um, it is and you are crazy if you don't think so.

Funny how at the gas station I go to they always are advertising milk for $2.95/gallon and people think that's a lot for gas!

In any other advanced country in the world you would be paying a minimum of $7/gallon. My friend spends $100+ every time he fills up his Audi hatchback's gas tank in London! We have it so good and people don't even realize.

The election is November 7 2006, how low will it go?? at this rate Bush will have your local GOP incumbent out at the station pumping it for you at 50 cents, checking your tire pressure, and washing your windows. But, like everything else with this con man there is a price to pay.

50 cents a gallon? or 50 cents a tank?

your point? That people think the government is in bed with the oil companies? Well . . . duh of course we do, don't you?

Revisit the other gas thread for my thoughts and matters, an election is coming up and that has directly effected the gas prices, that is my supposition and time will tell me if i am right.

Someone commented about AFC ruining the thread. Just wanted to point out that he wasn't the only one. Since you have posted your thoughts in other threads. Why do you need to do it here. Your disgust for everything in the country right now is well documented. The question here was how much for gas.

2.17 in Gainesville...WaWa on 29. Always a line.

comparing prices from here to another country is foolish.

The value of their money is different, not to mention the size of their vehicles, their use of public transit and how their cities and biz centers are set up.

How many people commute to D.C. from as far as W.V. or PA? A lot.

How many people come from that far in their own cars to London or Madrid or Berlin?

the reason the Euros pay so much more, often at least 3 or 4 TIMES what we pay for gas is their staggering taxes.

THAT is why they have tiny little nasty cars. that is why very few can own their own houses until much later in life- their entire economic system is so much more socialist than ours is.

I prefer life in America myself.

I live in the U. S. of by-God A....not London....

$2.25 here...and I don't care why, I'd love to see it drop below 2 dollars a gallon again!

No bearing on the situation. They tax the hell out of gas. That is why they pay more. Nothing more, nothing less. If we taxed at the same rate they did, our gas would be roughly the same price. We don't, so our gas is cheaper. But the price is relative to the tax level. There is clearly a comparison to be made between us and other economies in the developed world.

And some people think the moon is made of green cheese. Don't make it so. :)

just as some people believe Saddam had a role in 9-11

There is at least validity to believing there is collusion, as well as complacency of the government on big oil.

BTW, why did they need a $50billion dollar tax break at a time they were making profits never seen in the history of business? Does that make sense? Doesn't that lead to the premise they are in kahoots with each other?

I wonder where the people are that complained about Air Force Cane ruining this thread with political garbage?

2.39 at Gateway Citgo in Gainesville, I wonder why they are 10-15 cents higher than the other stations?

Lowest I've seen is $2.60, but I live in Fairfax.

Since we blame the President for everything, I'd just like to thank President Bush for lowering gas prices :applause:

He's only doing it so he will be reelected this fall.

Not quite sure what to think of the last qoute except for MORON. First of all the presidential election is in 2008 and secondly Bush can not get reelected again, Presidents can only serve 8 years total.

Sorry for having to point out the obvious.

Really? When did they make up that rule? I think I heard that one of the Roosevelt boys served more than 8 years total. Did someone lie to me?

Don't really know what to think about this post...other than you don't know how to spell quote. It was a joke man. But you may want to check your facts, it is possible for a president to serve just under 10 years(less than 2 years of his predecessors term and then elected twice)
