Nice! I played poker tonight too. The best hand I had was turning a straight flush. But we were playing Omaha that particular time, so it's not quite as impressive. Omaha hi-lo split is my favorite. But we were playing Omaha that particular time, so it's not quite as impressive. Omaha hi-lo split is my favorite. Nice. I've never played Omaha at a casino, I just stick to No-limit Texas. I know Omaha has a lot of action with crazy hands. I was at the $40 no limit table tonight at Hollywood Park, it gets pretty loose there. I am gonna start playing the $100-$300 no-limit table at Hustler more often cuz honestly I think I can play with anyone. I'm a tight player and rarely play the worst hand. I've pondered becoming a professional poker player, but that would require tournaments. Maybe...I am unemployed right now. I think that might be a foolish move though. Earlier this month I drove to Vegas on a spontaneous one nighter. Mostly played roulette, but sat down and played in the poker room at the Bellagio. Got there at like 2 am, saw Johnny Chan, Patrick Antonious, John Juanda, Jennifer Harman, and a couple other pros I recognized playing with $1000 chips at some high limit game. The casino I go to just past the Oklahoma border has $2-$5 Omaha where the minimum buy-in is $300, but most everyone you will see buys in for about $1000. I've bought in for the min a couple times. One time I left with a slight profit, the other time I got up to about $1200, and was one hand away from cashing out, before losing half of it on one hand (I had the 2nd highest full house and lost to the best one) and then losing it all about 15 minutes later. Yeah that sucked. Haven't been to the casino in a few months though. Just been playing small cash games with friends.
