33
have we ever traded w/ nfc east teams? We traded with Philly for Thrash when Gibbs came back.
Major Harris
We traded with Philly for Thrash when Gibbs came back. good point. however, that's hardly equivalent to sending #56 to an nfc east foe.
CowboySlayer
Trading Arrington would be the best thing for the team. Get Witherspoon from the Panthers. More of a team guy. Spend the savings on either Steve Hutchinson or John Abraham. trading him would cause us to take a bigger hit than if he reworks his contract, because we would most likely have to eat his bonuses, and no team will want to take the cap hit for his base. Higgs44
He will probably be released. Nobody is going to trade for Arrington because they know the skins' will more then likely release him. Just like nobody was gonna trade us for Champ Bailey right???? geez man, when are people gonna get a clue. If your a team, and you wnat a player with talent, you dont wait for him to get released and run the risk of him signing somewhere else!!!!! Mooka
BS!!!!!!!! For all the haters out there please name ONE player who would be available that is better than Lavar at the WS LB spot. You can't. Jullian Peterson
hailskins26
it would be dumb to trade him, he will be coming back at full health with somerthin to prove and the cap hit trading him is too big. we just took an 8 million hit for trading coles- no one will give us another santana for lavar. keep the face of thefranchise! aussieskin
clayton is one of those who dont like the skins, he wouldnt know what the skins are doing withn anyone on the roster, and i agree with jrfriedm: clayton probably know less about the game than i do and thats sayin something

The Evil Genius
Again, why wouldn't someone want to rent an above average LB for $595k this year (2006)? Especially a team that is one or two players on D away from being an elite team?
TheNewU
He will probably be released. Nobody is going to trade for Arrington because they know the skins' will more then likely release him. if a team really wants him they need to trade for him because if hes released its no guarantee theyll get him
SkinsTillIDie
No one is talking about what else Clayton said, specifically regarding the open quarterback competition in camp. I guess this is always the case, technically, but does this mean that Campbell will be given an equal number of snaps as Brunell? Will they each play the same amount in preseason? bmw2301
Arrington should not be traded, nobody will want to pick up that salary, and we would be crazy to eat that bonus. He said he wanted to be a Redskin and would do whatever to stay a Redskin. He will be in D.C next year in my opinion.
thedumbestmaninamerica
dont understand how anyone on here can get mad at john clayton for saying he thinks lavar will get traded, this is the guy who stuck up for us most of the season, and hes not wrong too often, if it were salsbury, or hodge i would say no, but coming from clayton it does have some merit
GOSKN5
I don't think that he will be traded, and Clayton talks out of his :moon: a lot!!!! I agree with you on that one.... I have heard him break a few things that did happen... but i have heard him say many a thing that def didnt happen..... I wouldnt take his opinion any more serious than my little sisters.... I for one could do without the drama that continuously surrounds L.A. in addition to that I have questions about L.A.'s ability to play and be happy in the system. TaylorPickSix
i dunno i wanna find out what the correlation between this and LaVar's secret meeting with snyder today was all about. I do not think he will be traded but I do trust Clayton.

bricucci
If we are going to make a superbowl run this year, it would make more sense to spread his roster bonus out over 4 years. It would be a much larger hit to cut him or trade him. If the skins think they are gearing up for SB XLI, then restructuring is hands down the best move this team can make. drfaustus5000
Here's hoping this is a rumor and not true, I just shelled out a 100 bucks for his jersey last year!! If he is being traded I would hope it's not within the NFC East.
