HardyNickerson56
He's got a rookie QB playing against a pretty good defense. Running up the middle and try to leave yourself with manageable 3rd down situations. I think Aikman pretty much hit the nail on the head, he was put in a tough situation because he inherited a really good team, but that was getting up there in age. And because the Bucs gave up draft picks to get Gruden, it was tough to reload and the roof caved in. Unless the Bucs start losing massive ticket sales, the best approach is to continue with Gruden for now and continue to rebuild throught the draft. Otherwise you'll have no continuity and your young QB's will be forced to learn a new offense and your defense will probably go to a new defensive scheme as well. YAKUZA That was all Gruden's doing. Bringing in old FA's, letting the defense get old with no draft picks and falling in love with a rookie QB that is a Rick Mirer clone.
HardyNickerson56
There are rumors that Jeff Lurie is enamored with Jon Gruden and he regrets firing Kotite and getting Ray Rhodes instead of promoting Gruden into the job. That would be weird. Gruden back in Philly. I wouldnt mind it.. he could take Gradkowski and his crap playbook with him and set the Eagles back 5 years. HardyNickerson56
Hopefully this is the end of the Gruden era in Tampa.
dsciambi
You're not happy with your 4-12 record? At least you got revenge for last year's Playoffs. Not only that, but a top 5 draft pick!
NOVA2Tampa
The Bucs have had a CRAPTACULAR season, haven't they???
HeHateMe
A Super Bowl ring for a team that has never won one should buy you 5 years, at a minimum.

tr1
Bump back to the top, he is trying to make us the Buccaneers of the 80's again. I hope he makes it happen...we play you again next year, dont't we? But never at FedEx.
MikeSellers45
I think they will be 8-8 next year.
hokie4redskins
Problem is, Gruden is working with 2002 talent in 2006. They need to or are in the process of gutting that team. I would love for Gruden to take over for Gibbs when he retires.
elkabong82
Let's see... 2002: Superbowl 2003: 7-9 2004: 5-11 2005: 11-5, Division title 2006: 4-12, starting QB out A Superbowl win and two division titles in 5 years. Why should Gruden be fired? My brain hurts.

The only coach I would not mind coming here if Williams does not take over is Bill Cowher.
pjfootballer
TB is getting real old, real fast on defense. I'd say 4-12 is not out of the question again this season.

HardyNickerson56
Yep.. this thread is back. Jon Gruden is officially the worst coach in the league. Thinking ole rag arm Garcia was a good signing. I am rooting against FaGarcia this year in hopes that it will get Gruden fired so we can start over and win some games again. Fred Jones
Ahhh, the never ending fire Gruden thread is back. I think Garcia will do ok this year. Just keep him in his element and provide a little pass protection and he can get the job done.
Tom [Giants fan]
Gruden caught the Bucs at a bad time. He had early success but his team is aging. If he was the coach when the defense was in its prime, they would have won several Super Bowls.
HardyNickerson56
Yep, he has proved he doesn't know young talent and we need him gone before he screws up the franchise to bad. Which is why I am rooting for Garcia to fail miserably.
pjfootballer
As bad as I hated Boonell starting, I always root for my team to win. I could never do that. Things will take care of themselves if TB has another 4-12 season. I wouldn't root against Garthia.
