mjah
Or how about John Riggins (or was it Joe Jacoby?) driving around in a Geo Metro?
Burgold
That was a painfully bad comercial if memory serves. Worse than Eastern Motors. Personally, I've heard rumors that Peter King shows this every Spring to the HOF voters as his primary reason Joe shouldn't be voted in. Grimm and Jacoby should have been in the HOF long ago. Grimm should have been a first time lock.

ntotoro
It almost sounded like Frankenstein one of those Horror movie marathon commercials from Channel 20 back in the day. "I'm Joe Jacoby for Theeyahtahvizhun."

DB44
"...and we will not be under sold!.." (pointing at screen) I loved those commercials. Riggo's Rangers (Ford Trucks), Dave Butz on the Heat Pump. Man It would be nice to see those again.

Raub
I loved how the commercial evolved over the years. The first year Joe said "of the World Champion Washington Redskins." The next year they went cheap and instead of reshooting it, they just switched to a picture of the Skins logo and cut out the "World Champion" part.
Henry
Jacoby: "And yes, you too can own a big screen television".  Oh God, that's classic. I'd love to see that again.

But I remember this one. I also liked the radio spots on WMAL. Butz for Utz. Charles Mann for McDonaldas. Great stuff
spjunkies
That crappy TV would be worth like 2 bucks today.
pjfootballer
What was funny is, the commercial back then was just as cheesy as it is now.
USS Redskins
Those TV's sucked. A friends father bought one and even back then I thought the picture sucked. It was so faint and blurry.
Raub
Another classic commercial I'm looking for is the Carvel Ice Cream commercial with Fudgie the Whale. I loved that guy's voice. He always sounded like he smoked 30 cigars a day.
