  1. I really think we’ve made the right GM pick, and then he made the right coach pick. Now things are starting to fall neatly into place. Washington is finally a great place to be for coaches and front office again, and soon it’ll be the same for players as well, perhaps as early as next offseason if this team shows promise. I still think it’ll take a playoff birth or 2 before the team can become truly loved by the fanbase, but once the winning starts, it won’t take long before the fanbase starts to get really excited and we will start to bring in new young fans.
  2. I’m so excited to see JD5 in action. I’m really thinking that he will do well protecting the ball, and will be a major upgrade over what we’ve had in a long while. Im excited to see if Dotson will be better, I think he will, I know that Dotson had a bad year last year, but I think Jayden throws a much better ball than Sam did, and will do a much better job playing on time in the offense, which should help Dotson. A lot of his drops last year came on extended plays. I think he will do much better with a qb that gets him the ball on time with good ball placement. I think Tmac will most definitely go over 1000 and ertz and eckler will be great red zone targets. If Dotson has a good year and McCaffry blossoms, this offense could be sneaky good, especially if Sinnot turns out to be serviceable early on as well, he’s got a shot to be real good to.
  3. To be honest, out of all the first round QBs, I think Drake Maye is most likely to bust the hardest. Caleb is considered generational, so at bare minimum he should at least be serviceable like Kyler or Baker. Jayden has his elite running ability that should help him to at least be serviceable as well, he also has great mechanics and is a good processor, the only thing that could make him a bust is injury most likely. JJ is in an amazing situation where he can be a game manager for a couple of years while he learns the pro game. Penix gets to sit behind cousins for a few years and learn from a real pro, that should really help him when his number is finally called. And Payton will make it easy for Nix, he won’t be asked to do to much early on and if Sean Payton was able to make a washed up Russ be serviceable, I’m sure he can do the same with Nix. Maye on the other hand is coming into a bad situation with a new inexperienced head coach on a team that is void of talent. And while Maye has some great traits, his mechanics are flawed more than the rest of the 1st round QBs, and he struggles with innacuracy issues and inconsistent play. In my opinion the NFL is becoming more like the MLB and everything is based on analytics and consistency. It’s all about spacing and timing now, and for offenses to succeed you really need a guy that plays on time and is very accurate. Now Maye has a great ability to extend plays with his legs and make the big chunk, big time throws, but that is the biggest and best part of his game, and in the NFL, that isn’t going to fly. If he isn’t able to learn to hit on the easy ones, accurately and on time, defenses will feast on him the same way they did Sam Howell.
  4. I’m thinking 10-7, we surprise the league and make the playoffs. I think we sweep dallas and giants. If we split with the eagles we will win the division
  5. I understand that this is not a 1 year rebuild and need to be patient, but if I feel that the offense would be formidable if we were to add another good receiver via trade. If Luke turns out to be good and Dotson finally lives up to his 1st round grade, the offense could be really good. That just seems like a lot to hope for.
  6. I actually don’t mind running it back with Wylie. He had some awful moments last year, but wasn’t consistently awful. It’s just that his bad was really bad. When you factor in Bienemys awful play calling and Sam howells poor qb play, the entire line was set up to fail. I think both Wylie and the line in general will be improved this year.
  7. This is why I really didn’t like Drake Maye as a prospect. NFL offense is all about getting the ball to your playmakers when and where they have the most space to operate. You really need an accurate and consistent qb for offenses to work well. I think we made the right choice with Jayden, he is accurate and reads the field fast. He will also draw a spy, which should give the playmakers a little more space
  8. I wish brissette got to play more last year, he looked soooo good when he played. I’ve always liked Brissette and right now I’d agree that he is better than Marriotta. Though, I actually am glad that Marriotta is the back up here, I think he has come to terms with what he is and his role. You can bet that Brissette is gunning to start, where as Marriotta is here to be a backup and help mentor the rookie qb.
  9. He was one of those picks where Ron thought he was smarter than everyone else, same with Forbes. When we drafted both of them, both times I thought to myself, what the heck was Ron thinking. He probably makes the roster, but I don’t expect much out of him, and wouldn’t mind if he gets cut. Hopefully for us, he will have a pretty good year, and shows great improvement and gets extended, or signs a decent enough deal next year elsewhere that he qualifies us for a comp pick.
  10. I don’t think it’s ever to soon to acquire a top end talent at a skill position, especially if you have the cap space to do so, which we do. Now the problem lies, at least in my opinion is the draft compensation to get him here. A 1st or a 2nd? I’d say no, but for a 3rd? That at least gets him here, and gives you the ability to extend him before he hits FA and drives up the price even more. If we were to add him, our WR core would be a force, didn’t we have Moss, Garçon, and Djax at one point? Yes the o line doesn’t look like a finished product by any means, but by adding a great receiver, that pretty much would cement us having enough playmakers to potentially make a run at a division title this year, especially if the defense is better, which I feel is ok to assume that it will be, based on the player and coaching upgrades we’ve brought in. Unless you’ve got Mahomes or Josh Allen, you are going to need top end talent all over the field if you plan on seriously competing. Aiyuk is a top end talent, and is the type of player that gives teams an edge in close games.
  11. I like Fields. He put on a clinic against us last year on prime time. I know we had a bad defense, but he made it look easy. He will eventually get a chance to start again someday, somewhere. There is just to much talent for him to not get another opportunity. He might even get a shot this year if Rus doesn’t play well. But if he doesn’t learn to process the field better, he won’t succeed.
  12. For the first time in years, I expect a team that plays hard for each other each and every game. I expect the team to at the very least be competitive in almost every game. I really wish we got to see some more of Brissette last year to see how much of the lines struggle was on Sam, but I do expect improved o line play and a much improved running game. I expect JD5 to be immediately better than what Sam was last year
  13. I think the line is improved as well, and I’m not too worried about the P2S rate until it actually looks to be a problem in games.
  14. I feel that the o line will be serviceable this year. I think Sam Howell and Bienemy made the line look worse than what it was last year. Sam had a tendency to not see the field well, get stuck on his first read, held the ball to long, and drifted into pressure. Bienemy was ver predictable
  15. Milton will be a better qb than Maye
  16. Im thinking we might take a qb in the 7th, Leary had a pretty good combine, and I like Jordan Travis being able to run whatever offense we install for Jayden.
  17. I like Christian Jones, he is big and has a mean streak
  18. Any chance the tackle from Texas falls to the fifth
  19. I’m hoping for a couple more fat boys on the oline, preferably ones that have a lot of starting experience under their belt
  20. I’d trade a third for him maybe a third plus a 5th, but he’s going to get paid after the trade so I wouldn’t want to give up to much draft capital. I’d love for us to get him
  21. We’ve got ourselves a truly elite prospect at qb now, hopefully he fulfills his potential
