  1. At this point I’m kinda hoping we stay put and go bpa, for the most part but at the very least taking a tackle in round 2. We signed some older guys and we will need an influx of young talent to pair with them
  2. I wonder how much the 5th year option would deter teams from trading out of the first round. If it does then I think the point value on these trade charts should be skewed a little higher starting at pick 32, maybe value the 1st rounders 100-200 points more than what they are now depending on where they are in the 1st round
  3. Pretty much, Dan Quinn said it would be Peters choice, I’m thinking Quinn is perfectly happy with the pick though
  4. If we are trading up for a tackle it’s going to have to happen soon
  5. Bo nix arms look a little like Sam’s minus the weird looking upper arm hair
  6. Latham wearing sunglasses to, it’s almost as if these guys are sponsored by companies and being gifted at the very least, whatever they are wearing for free. Might be getting a little cash on the back end as well
  7. Even though I wanted JJ, I think we made the right pick.
  8. Drake Maye doesn’t have a belt, had to pull up his pants
  9. Youre right, plenty of tools. Accurate passer, good arm, elite runner, good processor, great mechanics and footwork. All the tools you need to be a great qb
  10. Just curious as to what you see that might limit his ceiling? I personally don’t see much, he has a strong arm, he is accurate, and he’d be one of the top 7 athletes at the qb position in the nfl. He does need to learn to change speeds on his throws more often when needed, but I feel that can be learned. Maye for example does change speed on his throws, but when he does it, his throwing motion changes considerably and it looks more like he his aiming it rather than throwing it, and personally, I feel that this leads to some of his accuracy issues. I’m just not really seeing some major hurdle that would limit McCarthys ceiling, and I feel he might have the highest floor in the draft. I’d love to hear what you think would limit his ceiling, that way I could watch some film of him today, to see if I can see the same issue
  11. Yeah, I don’t quite understand why a handful of big hits equate to a lack of elusiveness and poor field vision. He is an unbelievable runner for a qb.
  12. I hope he doesn’t end up with the giants, I really like this kid and I don’t want to boo him
  13. Watching this really eases some of my concerns about Jayden throwing over the middle of the field. Jayden is a much better passer than RG3 was and here you can see rg3 ripping the ball over the middle with ease. If Rg3 could do it than I’m sure JD5 can to.
  14. I used to be fine with Maye, but I’ve soured on him more recently, especially after hearing Cooley, who is someone I like, and he saw the same kind of things I saw. Consistently innacurate, poor footwork, and doesn’t see the field well. I do see the strong arm, and the ability to make some great plays, but the negatives with him just outweigh the positives for me. I think about how the chiefs beat the ravens, and pretty much just continued to take what the defense gave them and just started chewing up clock and eventually the ravens just didn’t have enough time to really do anything. I just don’t think we’d be able to do something like that with Maye. He misses to many throws and I think that it would lead to way to many 3 and outs. I feel, with Maye, we’d be hoping for the explosive play here and there, and going off script to convert third downs, and I just don’t think that’s a sustainable offense. With most NFL games decided by 10 points or less, I feel that consistency is king, and that the great teams consistently hit on the layups and run game to keep the chains moving and occasionally use the deep ball or the off script explosive play to put the team over the top, but if your relying on off script plays, and explosive plays for your offense to be successful, you will be tiring out your defense and constantly playing from behind. On top of this, in my opinion, the modern day NFL offense is about getting your guys the ball in open space and you really need a qb with great ball placement to make the most of it, and I agree with Cooley that Maye doesn’t have consistently good ball placement. Now I’d get behind Maye if he is the pick, and I understand that his traits are worthy of a high pick, but in my eyes he is a project, and there is no guarantee that his accuracy or consistency will improve. I think his ceiling is just as high as anyone else’s, but I see his floor as much lower. In my opinion he is Qb5 in this draft and would be Qb6 if I thought Bo Nix had a higher ceiling. At one point a month or 2 ago, Maye was QB2 in my eyes, but that was only after watching highlights. Once I watched his every throw and run I had completely changed my mind. But if we pick Maye, I’ll be excited about his traits and be hopeful that he will become really good. I won’t be mad or angry at the team for picking him
  15. I like Jayden a lot, he’s only behind Caleb and JJ in my opinion, but he’d have to be a hall of famer to be considered a steal if he is drafted #2. Usually steals in the draft are people that outplay their draft position, and to do that after being picked #2 would mean a hall of fame career. I hope your right if he is the pick
  16. Tez walker gets a lot of shade thrown his was over on the qb thread, especially by the Maye supporters, but I actually see potential in him. One thing I noticed is he consistently beats his man on go routes, and he is great at tracking the deep ball. I’ve seen so many plays where he has his man beat by 2 steps and Maye throws it short and Tez is able to slow down, fight through contact and make the catch. I know he has the dropsies some times and he’s not the most crisp route runner, but we don’t have anyone that can consistently beat his man on the go route on the outside the way he is able to. I think the coaches can work with him to sharpen his route running, and if he’s there at the end of round 3 or in round 4, I’d be excited if we got him.
  17. I thought he had the highest QBr of all QBs when pressured. When he throws on the run, he did it well, just didn’t do it very often
  18. Drake Maye going to giants doesn’t worry me at all. I just don’t see it with him. In 2 years, he played 6 games against teams that you can say had a decent to pretty good defense. Clemsonx2, NcStatex2, notre damex1 and Oregonx1. And in those games he struggled. In the biggest games, when his team needed him most, when they weren’t the more talented team on the field, Maye struggled with his accuracy and decision making. Maybe he turns out to be really good, and I get that he has the traits that can make for a really good qb, but in my opinion, it’s a lot of projecting that gets him to being a good NFL qb. And drafting on future potential is a 50/50 or less proposition. in the space that is between where he is now to where he might be, there is just as much that can go wrong as there is that can go right. I agree with Cooley and Simms and think that he needs a lot of work, and I am not going to worry myself about a qb that hasn’t proven anything yet.
  19. It’s looking more and more like Jayden will be the pick. I’m happy with it, I like him and believe he is worthy of the #2 pick. But I can’t shake this feeling that JJ will be a champion
