  1. I’m still hopeful we find a way to land him. He would make it “cool” to be a commanders fan for the younger generation. And if he plays well, that’ll be good enough to win us older guys over.
  2. This is true, so many times he drifts right to where the pressure is coming from. Sam did this a lot as well. It’s my biggest worry when it comes to Maye. Sam got to ride the pine for a whole year and it never got better. Hopefully if Maye is the guy it will get resolved. Right now I have Maye slightly ahead of McCarthy but, McCarthy is just as good of a runner if not a little better, definitely a little more wiggle, not as big of an arm but close enough, and doesn’t have the same mechanical flaws that Maye has. I’d say he is a great piece of clay to mold as well.
  3. Maye didn’t run because he drank a lot of water!!! On a serious note, I think we are in a great position here, we will have our pick of 3 outstanding qb prospects, maybe 4 if some funny business goes on with Caleb. Caleb would be my first choice, but out of the next three my order seems to change day by day. After watching the review I posted yesterday, im leaning Maye, but it’ll probably be Daniels or McCarthy at some point again. There is just so much to like, but all have their own issues as well.
  4. I think his poor decision making will improve in time, but I do think it is an issue for him, and it’s not just hero ball that causes it. He’s really young. It’ll definitely improve with time and reps. His boom factor is through the roof.
  5. Daniels playing weight was listed at 210 all season and weighed the exact same at his pro day. Is it a conspiracy? Maybe, though I doubt it. I imagine, 210 is probably where he will be his first few years, and possibly get up to 215 or 220 by the end of his rookie contract
  6. Kirk cousins is 6’3’’, 210. That’s the same measurements that Daniels had today, and has been listed at this year while playing.
  7. The other teams fans will be when we finally retake our throne at the top of the NFC east
  8. I like Daniels better, but I could get behind Maye. I think Maye has great potential, it just concerns me that he didn’t really improve upon his flaws from the prior year. Hopefully if he is the pick, our coaches will help him to reach his potential.
  9. He weighed in at his pro day at the same weight that he was listed at while playing this year.
  10. Herm told him to run at ASU, Herm said this publicly. I like that he showed the ability to protect himself better the second half of last season.
  11. Nobody is saying the refs will protect Jayden because he is Jayden. You are misrepresenting my post. My entire point is that the league is doing everything they can to protect the players, and yes that means more flags come out on borderline hits, especially with QBs, and even more so players the league has branded to be “exciting to watch”. They don’t want those players sitting on the bench do to injury. In today’s nfl, smaller guys are able to thrive because there are rules in place to protect guys from dangerous hits.
  12. I’m not “delusional”. The league has come out and said its main objective is to protect these guys. I’m also not going to assume injury onto someone with no injury history.
  13. I don’t think it’s “delusional”. The league is all about protecting these QBs. The league just had the owners meeting, and during it they came out with another rule to protect these guys, the hip drop swivel. I’m not to concerned about Jayden taking legal hits. He’s taken plenty and hasn’t been injured yet.
  14. I’m not to concerned about Jayden running the 40. I would like to see him weigh in at 210 or more, but even if he doesn’t it really doesn’t concern me. If he comes into the league and is an electric playmaker, the refs won’t allow anyone to touch him. The new hip drop rule is just another way to protect these guys. The NFL is on a path to try to keep their superstars healthy and on the field.
  15. I was being sarcastic, though, I am hoping for a trade back into the 1st round if it means we get a LT that has the ability to start right away. I like the revamp of the IOL. And im sure that we won’t be putting the new qb in the same situations that Sam was in last year.
  16. I’m nervous about the team implementing a completely new offensive system with more than likely 3 or 4 new starters on the o line, with most likely a rookie LT holding down the blind side. I do feel more comfortable with Jayden starting in that position because of how much ball he’s played, but even still, I’m hoping the new 1st string o line takes every snap in preseason to get things completely in sync if they plan on starting the rookie day 1.
  17. If the return we get is worthy of the trade back, I’d be all for it. I like Nix a lot, he is great on the move and has a bit of Houdini in him. He is also very accurate. I’m in the camp of I’ll be happy with whoever they choose. I’ve got hope that we finally have the right people in place.
  18. So JJ is the first interview at the combine, then we fly out to meet with JJ, then there are 2 reports that we like JJ. It’s either smoke or smoke screen. I hope it’s smoke. As much as I like Daniels, I like JJ just as much.
  19. Yep, it’ll be real hard for the coaches to convince the fanbase that sitting the rook would be a good idea. I’d be fine with it, but I know I’m an outlier. The only thing that would truly upset me is if they start the rook and then bench him do to poor play. I was ok with Sam being benched because we knew at that time that he was not the long term answer. But even if the rookie struggles, I hope they just let him work through it.
  20. After years of ineptitude, I’d be perfectly ok watching Mariota start the season if it’s in the best interest of grooming our young qb. Even if it’s only for a few games while we get our rookie LT acclimated. Let Mariota take the punishment while our newly built o line gels. But if they feel the rookie qb is ready, then by all means, send him out there and let him learn on the go
