  1. Thats an incredibly high floor for a guy that’s only played 2 years of college ball and no pro ball. Especially since he didn’t get any better his second year starting in college. I like Maye, Daniels and Williams, but I won’t rule out any of them completely busting. All three have shortcomings that they will need to overcome.
  2. Alex Smith broke his leg so bad that he almost died. Joe, broke his leg so bad that a crackhead was scared for him. RG3 broke his leg so bad that it wasn’t even broke, but still was bad enough to to go from ROY to bust. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pocket passer or dual threat qb. Injuries happen, the good news for us is we are due a string of good luck at the Qb position, and the league is more than ever protecting QBs.
  3. I really like Maye because of what I think he can do, mainly, everything but house call a 80 yd Qb draw. Great arm, Great size, great mobility. But he played in a very vanilla college passing offense, and it’s yet to be known how good of a field processer he is, right now that’s impossible to know. I don’t think he was really asked to read the d very much, and he has shown to make some throws that make you wonder what he was seeing. He does hold the ball to long quite often and that causes him to go off script a lot, but he is amazing off script and throws really well on the run. he struggles with consistency and his mechanics can get sloppy. Can be very accurate at times, and very inaccurate at times. Potential is there to be a top 5 qb in the league, key word here is potential, amazingly high ceiling, scary floor. I do believe good coaching will raise his floor considerably. He had poor coaching at UNC Jayden I like because of what I know he can do. At LSU they ran a hybrid RO/prostyle offense where he was asked to read the defense on most every play, sometimes even calling shifts pre snap. He sees the field really well. He is fast at getting through his progressions, he can get to his 3rd or 4th read quick. He does lack elite arm strength, but makes up for it a little with great mechanics and an amazingly quick and clean release. He will also skip tight window throws even if there is a throw to be had and this is something that definitely needs fixing. He is very accurate. He is to risk adverse, but does protect the ball. And he has game breaking speed and amazing acceleration. He is really skinny and that is terrifying when you see some of the hits he takes. He is truly a unicorn, you don’t see dual threat QBs coming out of college that can process the field the way he does while the play is in motion. He had great coaching at LSU
  4. Just watched some Bo Nix, dude is a baller. He is, who we hoped Sam would be. He does all the things Sam does good, but better. He struggles with processing the field when asked to drop back and first read is covered just like Sam, but unlike Sam, he doesn’t make bad decisions because of it, he just stays cool, calm and collected. He might struggle a little early on because he doesn’t get through his reads quick enough, (it seemed like he had no leeway on where he was supposed to go with the ball pre snap, and if the first read was covered it would take him to long to come off of it, and even longer from 2nd to 3rd). He will have to make a living making off script plays early on in his career because of it, but he’s not going to be one to take awful drive killing sacks, or throwing bad interceptions. He makes good decisions, it’s just that a lot of the time it just takes him to long to make it. If he is able to up his field processing game, and learn to play on time in a multi read, dropback passing game, he will be really, really good. He is so accurate throwing on the run, a good runner, strong arm, and is dynamic off script. Throws a tight spiral, with touch and with zip when needed. He is probably the most improved qb coming out this year from where he was his first year, night and day from what he was at auburn. Whoever ends up drafting this guy could be striking gold. If he were to boom, he would be somewhere in between prime Russel Wilson and Patrick Mahomes, being closer to Russ than Pat, but with a little bit of that Sam Howell bowling ball rumbling tumbling running style. He is not quite the improviser that Mahomes is. His floor seems pretty high as well, maybe Sam Howell, but a better decision maker that isn’t able to consistently play within the timing of an offensive. Back half of the league starter, to very quality backup. I think this is where Sam ends up if he can stop making bad decisions with the ball, it’s ok to take sacks and punt, but you can’t take sacks and punt while also throwing lots of picks, that’s never a good combination.
  5. Hartman had an awful combine, other than his 40 time was better than expected. He missed so many throws and had the weakest arm out there. He could probably be had as a udfa. I’d like it, the guy is probably the most experienced college qb ever. He loves the game, and would be a great teammate. I actually wouldn’t mind a late round flyer on Milton. We could stash him on the practice squad. He is inaccurate as can be, and awful at processing the field, but he has a Geoff gorge/rex grossman type cannon, he is also an athletic freak. The coach would have 4 years to try to fix his issues. His flaws are terrible, but his physical traits are amazing.
  6. It’s the nipple pinching thing, we all know the only reason he got upset was because it was on camera. I bet they had nipple pinching orgys every day after practice. 2 times on game day.
  7. RO= read option, Ho= handoff, Ni= not involved, p=play 5 minutes left in first half Mizu up 22-10 daniels at this point is 4 of 7 for around 60 yds and a Td, with a few rush yards, not many. He has missed a couple of throws, only one was a bad miss, but still the right read. 0 turnovers, and they have been focusing on the run. p1. Ho for 10 yards, up the middle, edges can’t crash, fear jd5 speed p2. Qb run, 10 yds, made first guy miss, good run, called back for holding p3. RO, HO, defender tackles jd5 instead of ball carrier, RB goes untuched for 36 yards then tackled. Jd5 is a Rbs dream teammate. p5. HO, play blown up by d line, first closest defender goes after Jd5 so RB gets 4 yds p6. Easy swing pass Td, 7 yds, the running game helps open plays like this up. p7. Empty set, qb draw, 30 yds, only 3 QBs in the league pull this off. p8. HO jd5 is NI on this play for the most part at this point he is 6/9 81 yards, 1 Td, 60 rush yards. p9. Reading field left to right hits nabers, his second read, on a button hook. D had sent a corner blitz, Daniels saw it, used his eyes to look a defender playing zone over to cover the flat, and then hit nabers for the completion, nabers had space do to Daniels moving the defender with his eyes so nabers was able to make 13 extra yards after catch. p10. Some mix between a fade and corner route from left hash to back right pylon. 20-25 air yards on pass, reciever was held and then stumbled at the end of route. No call, good read, good throw, if reciever wasn’t grabbed it would’ve been a Td, fell incomplete just out of the reach of the receiver. P11. HO stuffed p12. Empty set, box fade, poorly run route with good coverage, reciever didn’t give Jayden enough room to the sideline for a back shoulder throw. It was the right read, but the ball is deflected, falls incomplete. As great as the LSU receivers are, this was not their best game, a few drops, and this poorly run route. p13.HO,NI p14. Play action, rolls left, squares shoulders, 50 yd beautiful Td pass in the air, perfect accuracy, great touch, led receiver just enough to make it a super easy catch p15. HO, d line playing wide, trying to protect against JD5 getting edge, leads to easy run up the middle for RB p16. Pass, starts his progressions at left hash, makes his way all the way over to the right outside boundary and hits his 3rd read in his progression on a 15 yard out route on time with perfect accuracy. An NFL throw, nfl timing, receiver was open. p17. HO, wide d line, they are unable to crash the line to stop the run because they are to worried about stopping Jayden possibly getting the edge for a big gain, can’t stack the box because he is really starting to pick them apart through the air as well, leads to a 15 yd easy run for RB p18. Qb draw 3yd gain, goes down fairly easy at first contact, more weight on his frame would really help in this situation, would’ve helped him fall forward for extra yards. p19. Play action, roll left, shuffle pass, neat little gimmick play, Jayden draws a defender and receiver gets an easy 7 yards, you can tell that the game plan was to not let Jayden get the edge. LSU really capitalized on this. p20. Tight window throw, called pi in the endzone. Guy was draped on reciever, but ball was placed where only receiver could get it, He doesn’t make bad throws that leave you wondering what in the world he was seeing. p21. High snap, Jayden rescues the play by tapping the ball to himself, somehow scrambles into the endzone where he is hit late after he thought he scored and had noticeably pulled up out of his protective stance. Play called back for holding, Jayden hurt ribs and out for rest of drive, the backup comes in moves the team backwards and lsu misses fg. 32-27 mizzu at this point. p22. Jd5 comes back in, he is tuff, no one open, scrambles, holding offense. p23. HO, line blown up, Jd5 gets hit as he hands it off, no gain. The LSU o line is ok-good, there is nothing great about the o line. p24.3rd and 9 from own 9. Receivers run verts with one comeback short of the sticks, no throw to make, jd5 takes off, gets the edge and gets the 1st down. p25. Empty backfield, pass, stands tall, starts his read on right sideline, works his progression all the way over to the left sideline on an in breaking 15-18 yard route. This was his 4th read in his progression and hit him on time, accurately, and in stride. Receiver was open but it was amazing how fast he was able to get to him going all the way across the field with his reads. he does hit a lot of open guys, but he is going through his progressions fast to find the open guys, he will need to pull the trigger more often on guys not as open, but he is truly amazing at going through his progressions. He processes the field faster than the rest of the guys coming out of college this year. He will just have to learn what nfl open looks like and pull the trigger when the throw is there. One reason his sack to pressure rate is so high, is because most pass plays they run, his legs are the designed check down, sometimes it leads to huge gains because the short middle of the field is wide open if he gets past the LOS, but if he doesn’t, there is no other person to throw to. p26. Play action, rolls left, dump off, easy pass and catch that most teams run to get their qb an easy completion, good for 7 yards. p27. Go route, under thrown, rg3 blames hurt ribs, I give him no excuse, he needs to make this throw, easy 45 air yard Td drops incomplete, under thrown by a couple feet, hit receiver in hands but receiver had to slow down and defender got in position to make a play. This play was a major disappointment, but it would’ve been worse if he airmailed it, I’d always rather plays like this be thrown a little short than long, at least then you give the receiver a chance, p28. Next play, qb draw for a 35 yd Td, jd5 is so fast, tackled in endzone, can tell he is still in pain, he is tuff. p29. Zips into tight window for 2 pt. Good accurate throw where only his guy has a chance, and did it with perfect timing. p30. Rolls right, 10 yard completion throwing on the run into tight coverage, puts some zip on it and puts it in a safe place where only his guy can get it. p31. 7 yard comeback on the outside, easy throw and catch p32. RO, Jayden keeps it, hurdles a guy and gets a 30 yd gain. Rg3 calls jd5 Lamar, and said they both have the same type of acceleration. p33. Rolls right to avoid a free rusher, throws 30 yd Td in air, while rolling at a jog pace to his right. Guy was open, blown coverage, but still a great play to avoid the rusher and to cap off game wining drive. At 5 minutes left in the second quarter, JD5 completely took over. He played amazing, and his team needed it because the LSU d couldn’t stop mizzu from scoring. He put the team on his back, while suffering from banged up ribs, he showed tuffness, resilience, his great passing ability, and great running ability. And beat an upper echelon, undefeated, top 25, sec team on the road in a very hostile environment. He willed his team to victory. Literally one of the best qb performances I’ve ever seen in a game if you include all the factors.
  8. That lsu d was awful, it’s truly amazing that they only finished with 3 losses, Jayden put that team on his back all year. Now with the news of fields going to Pit, I’m thinking Jayden will be the guy.
  9. Yes an odd time, you know the final score, you know the stat line of the game, and then you cherry-pick the plays you want not even using the entirety of the game. Meanwhile in that first half, he made a couple of nice throws, didn’t turn the ball over, made a couple of nice runs and put up 10 points while his D allowed score after score while also allowing Mizzuo to rack up time of possession, u said he only had 4 completions, while not acknowledging his lack of attempts. He missed 5 throws all game and 2 or 3 were definitely drops. So to call this one of the worst qb performances you’ve ever seen “literally” must mean you haven’t seen to many qb performances
  10. So you pick to stop watching right before LSU scores 39 points in the second half, odd time to stop
  11. Other than the fumble towards the end of the game, it was a nearly flawless game by Jayden. He finished like 16/21 275 3tds, 0 ints, 130+ yards rushing with another Td on the ground. Nabers and Thomas jr had 3 drops between them, the fade should’ve been caught even though the pass was a little short, so I’ll call it a drop. A poorly run route on another fade that gave Daniels no room to through it, and another receiver fell down on what would’ve been another Td. Daniels made the right decision on every pass he threw, it was truly amazing, not one bad decision on a throw all game throwing the ball. There was a couple of times he should’ve handed the ball off on RO plays where he kept and ran himself, would’ve saved him a couple of hits, but pretty much made the right decision every snap he took this game. He was very accurate, went through his reads quickly and precisely, and the only inaccurate throw was a long fade route right after he came back into the game after bruising his ribs on what should’ve been called a late hit. I believe the throw still should’ve been caught. Still it was the right read, the ball just should’ve been thrown a yard farther. He had one great throw on an out route where he really zipped it, it surprised me, I didn’t think he had that kind of arm strength. He made some amazing throws on the run, I thought the narrative was that he wasn’t good at that but this game has shown me otherwise. He definitely has the ability to throw on the run, and after watching this I believe he would excel running bootleg pass plays. He runs as a last resort on most plays, usually goes through his progressions before taking off, definitely not a 1 read and run guy. His acceleration is so fast he gets the edge easily and leaves you wondering how he just did it, reminds me of Lamar with this. A lot of LSUs pass concepts are designed with an open area of the field for Jayden to run to as his own check down, it was brilliant in college, it won’t really work in NFL, but I’m not as worried about that anymore after watching him throw so well on the move in this game. His legs are a lethal weapon, some say he is more like RG3, but I don’t see it. He might not be as shifty as Lamar but what he does have in common with him is how quickly he can accelerate. He hits full speed in like 2 steps, it’s wild. And while he does take some big shots, he also has the ability to run through arm tackles. His upper legs and butt aren’t as slendor as the rest of his body, it’s not easy to get this guy down if you aren’t squared up on him. They also ran the Tush push successfully, got a yard into the endzone but for some reason was marked short. What I loved the most is how the RO was used to get easy yards for the RB. Teams were so worried about containing Jayden that it gave the o line a 4 blockers against 3 defenders advantage right up the middle. While Mizzus d line looked better than LSUs Oline on most plays, it was not like that on the RO plays. It was really reminding me of how Alfred Morris would just run right up the middle and get 3-7 yards anytime we wanted. Teams will have to stack the box to stop it, and Jayden will throw it over the top when they do, he is to accurate of a passer to all parts of the field for teams to just stack the box to beat him. Brian Robinson will benefit to an extreme level if Jayden is the selection. With Jayden, it would be like having the 2012 offense on steroids, I’m talking big papa pump Scott Steiner level steroids. He accelerates just as quickly as Lamar, has the top end speed to house call it from anywhere on the field, and he is deadly accurate on his deep ball, and gets through his progressions fast. With the added benefit of him being a great pocket passer, so the offense could spread it out and sling it as well. Heck, now I’m more convinced than ever, they could tie in bootleg elements into it as well, running plays that we used to use when Kirk Cousins was are QB.
  12. Would it be the same vice versa, what if he drafts Maye and Daniels is the one who succeeds after the giants hypothetically draft him and becomes a superstar and Maye turns out not to be any good?
  13. Daniels has his shortcomings, mainly his weight and his sack to pressure rate, but he is definitely not a one read qb. He is a true pocket passer, and probably gets through his reads better than any other qb coming out this year. His problem is once he does decide to run, he’s looking for running lanes instead of keeping his head up trying to find a guy breaking open. This might be what he was told to do, and I think a lot of their plays were designed for him to be the check down. They ran a lot of plays with all of their players either going deep, or running routes to the outsides of the hashes, basically leaving the entire middle of the field open. This won’t work as easily in the NFL. Most teams will have a fast enough middle linebacker or safety/linebacker hybrid to spy him.
  14. I love that he’s thrown for over 70% completion rate the last 2 years while not turning the ball over. He is a great pocket passer. I’m really excited to see how he turns out, even if he doesn’t come here. Not going to root for him if he is somewhere else but will pay attention though. We’ve never really seen a dual threat qb come out off college that is that great throwing in the pocket, and with such sound mechanics.
  15. Chicago will trade with us and get #2, a this years 3rd, next years 1st, and Jamin Davis. We will get Caleb and a 5th from them for this year. Then Chicago trades back again and gets pretty much whatever they want from the raiders. Maybe 3 1sts and a 2nd this year It’ll come out that Caleb wanted to come to Washington, but it’ll actually be a mutual decision that Caleb’s dad and the Bears GM orchestrated together so that the bears GM can save face if they don’t make the playoffs this year. Make Eberflus the scapegoat so that Poles can keep his job another year. He will sell the owner own all his great deals, getting them so many great young players and draft capital and then sign Dak next year. This only works if the league is scripted
  16. We did great on the trade, I thought we were going to ship Sam and a 7th for a 5th, I was pleasantly surprised when we got the 3rd for a 4th and a 5th for a 6th, It was a masterclass by peters, how many other times were 5 separate assets used to trade one player to another team in nfl history? Can’t be but so many times. Now with the Steelers and eagles pulling the same type of deal, it looks kinda like a copycat deal. I’m so glad we have an innovative, high quality GM.
  17. Me to but even if he does explode he is still more than likely hitting free agency, and would be even more expensive to keep around. The tag is an option if he explodes this year, I just don’t want to lose a valuable asset for nothing. He really could explode this year, he has the talent.
  18. I wonder with the Wagner and luvu signing if it makes Jamin Davis expendable. Maybe he could be added value in a draft day trade to go up and get Caleb Williams or a move back into the 1st round to grab a tackle. I doubt we pick up his option, so it’s very possible this is his last year with us anyway. I don’t know what his value is in a draft day trade, definitely not a 1st rounder that we spent on him, maybe he would be the equivalent of a late second or third round pick. I think I’d rather trade Jamin and a second to move back into the first round to get a tackle, then trade both seconds, same with a trade up for Caleb. Maybe we could trade Jamin and a second to get a tackle in the first and then replace Jamin with the linebacker from NCstate with our other second.
  19. I know exactly what they are doing, we did it with Curt’s Samuel and Deshaun Jackson, but that doesn’t mean I agree with it, especially in a league that is supposed to promote parody. It especially helps teams with a great qb, that is willing to take some of his bonus in voided years. They are kicking the can down the road, and yes it might cause 2 or 3 years of pain once the bill is do, but who cares if it helps your team remain stacked while you have a top teir quality qb that makes you a contender for the Super Bowl year after year? If they are able to keep there studs at other positions while keeping their high priced qb how are the rebuilding teams supposed to catch them without finding their own qb? The whole point of it is to keep a teams competitive window open longer, that is the exact opposite of parody. Yes it is allowed and no, they aren’t breaking any rules, but I think it’s a flawed system that helps keep the great teams great longer and it needs to change if they are going to continue to promote the NFL as the league of parody.
  20. I was willing before this, and I’m still hoping it does, I still feel we have a chance to get him. We will need a tackle signed in FA though because if we do somehow trade up to get him, we won’t have the ammunition to trade back into the first for a starting left tackle. i still think we land Caleb, the prodigal son returns story is just to good for the NFL to pass up, and I think he will be really marketable and someone younger generations of fans will really get behind.
  21. They can really help manny Forbes by taking him to buffets as often as possible, maybe sneak a stick of butter into his protein shake. hopefully when the QBs feel it hard, the refs will not get to flag happy. Though 15 yard roughing the passer penalties are no where near as bad as those bomb tds we kept allowing last year.
  22. I know you can do it with any player, but the fact of the matter is that it helps extend the window of these teams that have superstar QBs. It really doesn’t help anyone else. Nobody is going to push any players money deep into voided years if said team doesn’t have a great young qb. Once these QBs get paid the big bucks it should be harder to put the talent around them, that is what a salary cap is for. What’s the point of having a hard cap if you aren’t held to that cap. How would it help a team that doesn’t have a superstar qb that’s under the age of let’s say 32? It won’t. What it does do is lower the level of parody, that this league is supposedly designed for above all others. If it was so beneficial for all teams and not just the ones with great QBs that need the extra cap space, the other teams would’ve been doing it. It’s a copycat league. That and the other FOs are not just a bunch of idiots that don’t know the ins and outs of what they can and can’t do, cap wise to help the team, other than a Ron Rivera FO.
  23. It’s looking to me like the plan is to be able to bring pressure from anywhere at anytime, I’m glad Luvu will be able to move around more with the Wagner signing, dude is a recking ball.
