  1. Can you blame him? That coach looks like he needs to bench his QBs in order to live. Daddy needed his fix.
  2. Unless we solve our QB situation early in the offseason, what FA WR of quality will want to come here? We may have to eyeball trades really hard just to get an impact player at the position. Gaze hard at the teams that are struggling with the cap and start making offers for their wideouts.
  3. Taylor? Haynesworth (for the wrong reasons) Rookie RG3 was crazy tho.
  4. AGG could give us an element that only Thomas provides right now. He can go up and get a ball using his 6'4 frame and sInce he can catch balls off his frame with his hands, he can maximize his height and make catches that are very difficult to defend. If AGG can make plays off his body over the next 2 weeks, he has a strong chance to be a piece we look to utilize in a #3 capacity next year.
  5. Team or club.... Jeebus there is only so much bad news a man can take in one day. Just adding insult to injury. If I actually drank my poor kidneys would probably feel like they were getting worked over by prime Tyson w/ a ref that was paid off to deliver a body When do we hear about them wanting to bring back the moat for the new stadium?
  6. McK was limping after carries last week too. I don't think Miller is much of a window on Gibson himself, just holding together a group that is showing its wear and tear across the board.
  7. Not very plausible unless he wants to leave, but for fever dream scenario, I'd stack a package and present it to whoever is running Houston next year to try and pry Watson. They have no 1st or 2nd next year. are likely already over the Cap. Building that team moving forward will be rough w/ virtually no assets. Coming to them with a combo of Smith, Haskins, Allen, 1st rounder, 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder and telling them to pick 3-4 out of the bunch could refill their ammunition.
  8. I'm pretty sure Sweat put Trent on his back w/ a bull rush on that Young TD play for those that wanted to see it
  9. Clev Indians changing their name. This whole thing started w/ us is starting to snowball. https://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-30515645 I mean... wouldn't you given what he's dealt with? He is quite literally UPPING HIS ROY SCORE
  10. To be honest, he should not have been out there. They had him running short routes just to be a decoy, but he was obviously hurt. We have no depth at WR tho, so even a gimpy McL has to play.... Re-activate inman and WR has to be need 1 or 2 this offseason.
  11. Did you see how he holds the ball off his body while running w/ it like he's shady McCoy? No ball discipline. He can't even scoop up a fumble and run it back for a TD right. So disappointing. Dude just walked into Nick Bosa's adoptive home and planted a flag. what more could you want
  12. Could always go with the Ronnie Lott method. Zombie can go for some toe-fu (Zombie Pun)
  13. I'm still not sold on Cam just yet. Not seeing any kind of development in the areas that matter for him. Even in the last game: -The vast majority of his receptions were made bringing the ball into his body, instead of attacking it with his hands -Made little to no separation in man coverage -Had another dropped pass -The team still does not design routes to take advantage of his size like we do w/ Thomas (I suspect due to his reluctance to use his hands) He is a big guy, so he has been good at breaking tackles for a while, but until he can improve 1 or 2 of these other issues, he is a poor #2 and a shaky #3. He's just the best we have right now. Maybe AGG can bring something more later on. If there is any confidence that Wright could succeed in beating man D, I would love to see more snaps come his way. He would not break the tackles Cam would, but he would be more likely to present a target that Alex is more willing to throw too.
  14. GM jobs are 1 of 32. If you get offered one, you are almost assuredly bolting. Those are not every day opportunities and they usually last longer than coaching positions, so there is a bit more job security in it too, as a whole scouting department can easily be jettisoned along with a coaching change. Those positions are more valuable than one of your kidneys. Unless the Jets w/o a 1st overall pick come a knocking, I don't see any talent evaluator turning down that oppo. That would be crazier than a vegan Zombie
  15. We badly need another receiving option to pull coverage of of McL. Pitt dared us to attack them with anyone other than our top option. There was zero respect for our other players. They flat out left McK and Thomas unguarded on multiple occasions. It was clear that after we lost Gibson, the game plan was to blanket Terry and nothing else. Got through it this week, but we don't have the depth needed to continue to do so without abusing our RBs, something that will be even harder if we lose Gibby. We need McL to be productive to get things done. Gotta spread the D out a little more, but that wont happen if opponents will not even respect your other players. We need a #2 that other teams know they have to guard.
  16. I don't see Turner getting a lot of HC looks just yet. There are already a few Off coaches that are in line for HC jobs around the NFL that will be hot commodities. I could see JDR getting a couple interviews this off season. Some franchises strongly favor HCs w/ experience, especially if they have established players and are not doing a full reboot. A situation the bears may be in if the move on from Nagy for example. They probably wont want a young guy in there and JDR would be a natural fit for their D focus. Plus JDRs fill in for Ron while he battled cancer has to play well across the NFL as well.
  17. With moves like slay their FO sold out for this season, and they are going to pay for it next yr. There is no way they can get down low enough w/ just cuts and re-structures. They need some trades. Ones where they bring back either draft picks, small salaries or non G contracts they can quick cut. Keep in mind they will have to get well under the cap for seasonal movement budget, rookie contracts, and FAs to fill holes. Our FO should be eyeballing other rosters hard and scouting almost every current NFL player. A lot of teams will need to let a few guys go and if we have already done our homework and identified good fits, we can be the first one in line with our available cap space. We badly need a GM sooner rather then later as this will be a premium time to set our team up for future success, not just current. We need a guy w/ the long term on his mind.
  18. I'm cool w/ Young dropping into coverage at a decent clip, provided he sells the o-line on the idea he is rushing. He pulls so much of the lines attention pre-snap, in the form of line shifts, that him faking pressure can screw up an O-lines alignment before the play even begins. It creates numbers on the opposite edge rushers side due to the line shift towards someone who is not rushing the QB. Its almost an artificial blitz and it has worked several times this season. I'd say we should be doing this more w/ Sweat as well but the dude is so physically freaky that he can cover his side of the field while rushing the passer. Seriously, the dude has a "no fly zone" established over his person. It also does not hurt that Young is great in space. Plus, since he is easily our DE w/ that highest snap count, plays like this can also give him half a blow if they avoid his space. This is just another tool in the toolbox employed by our coaches. All the additional benefits are simply grave-y (Zombie Pun)
  19. I don't think I have seen a D-line dominate like that w/o racking up a crazy number of sacks. They were having none of what Pitt was offering in the run game. made a crazy goaline stand and did this while only rushing 4 guys the vast majority of times, allowing us to drop more guys into coverage. That was a crazy good game from our D-line, and it was across the board. Payne, Allen, Young and Sweat were all monsters today. The gang tackling was so strong that several times they didn't only take down the opposing RB, but a couple Olinemen with him. That one where Allen was basically crowd-surfing was pretty funny. I think this was their best game. By gameplan design we hung our D-line out to dry, and they still impacted the game.
  20. Highest paid WRs don't make the money of Highest paid DEs. Positional value matters. If your telling me I can have an elite young talent at a bargain bin price, It is hard to not value the more expensive position. (Ignoring team composition of course) Unless I can lock down the ghost of Megatron in his prime, it is very difficult for me to choose an elite receiver over an elite edge.
  21. At least you can say Gibson is watching his film https://larrybrownsports.com/football/aaron-jones-trolls-cowboys-byron-jones-wave-touchdown/517545 That was pre-meditated
  22. Regardless of before, during or after a play I don't believe you are allowed to gesture anything towards another player. You can do something as simple as flex on a guy, even after a play, but if you do it toward another player, your probably getting a flag. We have already seen that this season. I'm pretty shocked Gibson was not flagged for what he did. Your more than allowed to hold the ball up, or high-step or even do a dang backflip before getting to the endzone... but waving at someone is directional. I remember the NBAs massive crackdown on players pointing at each other with two fingers instead of one so they would get techs b/c they were pointing "finger guns". Always saw the sarcastic comments about "finger guns hurt feelings"
  23. Gibson had the LeBron celebration in their first meeting. He seems especially enthused to rub salt into dallas wounds. The in play taunting is a bit much (should have been flagged) but at least he keeps the TD celebrations somewhat in check. He's not going full blown Juju. Have not seen choreographed skits as of yet.
  24. Telling this fan base that it can't handle winning is like telling the alcoholic at the end of the bar to go home after one beer. Way to premature. We are 4-7. Are we improving? Absolutely. Are we winning... not so much. The only way you can get drunk off of 4 wins is if you include the heavy drinking used to cope w/ the 7 loses. Hopefully the continued development of our young core of players like Young will change that in the coming seasons. Our D-line is bringing one of the highest pressure rates in the NFL. The early season idea that we SHOULD be able to build a team around this line has been answered. We CAN build a team around this line. Its not just on paper anymore, they have pretty much proven it. That is a nice form of progress.
