  1. I sure hope Thomas is vaccinated considering he was hanging around a ton of players during that TE U thing.
  2. Pretty much. Fringe guys can't afford not to. Practice squad guys are probably giving coaches daily stats on their antibody load at this point.
  3. I think McK n Barber will be up, so we will either need to resign or totally rework our RB room.
  4. Teams will be held responsible for their players. The NFL took draft picks away for infractions last year for some repeat offenders. You can rest assured they will do it again this year, if they come to the conclusion that some team is not doing enough to prevent it. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-jon-gruden-fined-lose-draft-pick-for-covid-19-violations
  5. If a few players choice to not get vaxxed leads to the cancellation of a game your looking at: -All players not getting paid, not just the un-vaxxed. -Gameday workers not getting paid -loss of ticket revenue. Refund of paid tickets and season tickets -loss of merch sales opportunity -loss of local business revenue spurred by game day attendance -loss of government earnings via taxes -loss of TV sponsorship revenue, as there is no game to air commercials. God help if its a nationally aired game. -Wasted money from not optimally utilizing stadium lease -Possible playoff implications, which could impact the likelihood of future games where more money could be made That is millions of dollars, not just for the NFL but for the players, workers, surrounding community, the government and sponsors. That is a a major issue and its why the NFL will do what is necessary to prevent such an outcome. They are going to fine, suspend or straight up fire people who threaten this level of cashflow.
  6. So if either team is passed their bye week your absolutely boned. Any covid related cancellation would result in a forfeit since there is no available week for at least one team
  7. I dunno, we live is Z. Elliot world now. Barkley is ineffective, but Elliot's form and positioning is so bad it looks like he gets hit by a nuclear bomb every time he attempts a set. Have to wonder if he got injured every pass pro rep. If that ain't a 1 I don't know what is. He makes all other backs that can at least stand in the general way look like a 5.
  8. I think that list is more accurate than the offensive rankings. No real complaints from me. Settle has the ability to be higher, but does not get the reps. I'm weary putting any rookie in the red but, the talent is there.
  9. We play the Chargers week 1 That just got put in a whole new light. Potential devastating consequences.
  10. I got nothin' but props for coaches that find inventive ways to win. Like preventing other teams from reading your lips and stealing your signals The man is a clearly a visionary... even though his vision is impacted
  11. Gotta unlock access to those sweet sweet Dad jokes. I hear there is something simply euphoric about educing large collective groans from everyone in the room at the same time
  12. Many assumed this was a behind the scenes "ghost suspension" of sorts. Like he had to agree to do a lot of these things, but would not be formally suspended. It very well still could be, but now Snyder's PR team is putting out the narrative that Dan is still in complete control and can return to his regularly scheduled duties whenever he wants, he is just choosing of his own accord to step back a bit, giving the impression that this is 100% his own doing.
  13. I think he wants to be able to look back in 3 years and point out the personal changes he made to improve the culture, vs what the NFL secretly mandated to improve the culture. "He was not forced into changes, he just made changes" It fails however to show he understands that he got himself to this point and accentuates that the actual side-lining of himself is positive for the culture of the team. Dude is going for total narrative control, like the NFL played no part in turning this ship around, or rather rightside-up.
  14. Considering the more/less 50% Vax rate on players, I'll see it as bonus that Dallas will have more hands on deck due to the Hard knocks selection. I don't wish any illness on anyone, but I wont be surprised it they struggle w/ restrictions and players having to take time away during the offseason in comparison to most teams. I never watch the show, but anything that brings around a full production crew on your campus can't be the best play right now. One outbreak among the HK staff could shut down your whole off season program
  15. Voluntary step aside aint stopping squat. If we win something, he will be the first guy there. Dude will be out of his box and clearing obstacles in his path with the quickness. He won't be denied. 508 × 316 If he was actually suspended, sure.
  16. Yeah, they are pretty much untouchable and that is certainly a system that breeds corruption when there is next to no accountability... But its not like they are going to go out and change the system that they have complete control over to enable themselves to be gut-checked, or worse. How does that get fixed?
  17. I didn't think we were gonna get hit too hard by the outcome, (I was thinking big fine, suspension for Dan, assigned liaisons) but that is significantly less ten even what I envisioned. Wow NFL is nothin' but protecting the brand at all costs.
  18. Ehhhh..... I've never been sure how to spell it as everyone seems to flip flop. A whole bunch of places seem to list his name that way including Alabama but I tend to go by the draft cards as those things are probably triple checked and player approved. https://rolltide.com/sports/football/roster/da-ron-payne/3938 https://www.ea.com/games/madden-nfl/madden-nfl-21/player-ratings/player-name/Da'Ron Payne/13104 https://overthecap.com/player/daron-payne/6898/ It could very well be "Daron" but I'll cut myself some slack on that one. No-win situation EDIT: This is the one instance Madden can be used as a reference and not make me look crazy
  19. Last year we kept 4, but one of them was Bryce Love who the team had to know was in no physical condition to contribute in the short term. He was inactive on gameday for 3 weeks and then shut down on IR. We were pretty much running w/ 3 guys with the hope Love would get healthy enough to be the 4th in the event of someone else injury. We would bring guys in (like Miller) to get us back to 4, but they would be inactive on gameday. I'd say this staff has basically shown it likes to carry 4, but it can be comfortable with only 3. The wild card here is Curtis Samuel. With him and Thomas able to get some reps in the run game, that 4th back gets really redundant. Across a whole season, especially a longer one, you will need additional bodies for quick 1 week turnarounds in the event of injury, but that does not necessarily need a roster spot committed to it when you have Gibby, McK, Barber and can rotate Samuel and Thomas thru as well.
  20. While it can certainly be used as a tool to evaluate a guy for one more year, its also one of the best ways to lock a star player into a below market value contract for an additional year. Star 1st round players should expect to get optioned, nature of the beast. Its not a slap in the face at all This year alone: Josh Allen Minkah Fitzpatrick Bradley Chubb Denzel Ward Roquan Smith Da’Ron Payne Calvin Ridley Lamar Jackson Not a whole lot of question marks in that group. Those are all great players who you know deserve big $$$ The only guys who don't get 5 yr'd are guys who have not proven to be consistent plus contributors and RBs.
  21. I'd assume we'd pick up Sweat's 5 yr option, same for Young the following year. Kick the can a little bit down the road. Still brutal tho
  22. Didn't see that one coming, but it falls in line nicely with the efforts the team has been pushing forward to re-focus the organization moving forward. A family company vs a family owned company is the kind of narrative you would want to push. T. Snyder has done a lot on the charitable and crowd relations side so putting her is a more distinguished position helps that angle. In terms of putting a better face on the organization, I see that as a major win. They have been doing a lot work in the front office to return us to respectability. Step by step they are improving, can't ask for much more.
