  1. This is just flat-out WRONG! Going for two when we cut it to 29-21 was ABSOLUTELY the right call. And if Slye hadn't shanked the next PAT, we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. We would still have been down by 8 with (another) chance to get the TD and 2pter to tie. Slye butchering the PAT killed what was actually the right decision by Rivera on the previous TD.
  2. Ok. Point taken. So the Detroit freakin' Lions, quite possibly the only franchise in the NFL that has been demonstrably worse than ours over the past two decades, somehow fell ass-backwards into the next Vince Lombardi and put together a front office and coaching staff that has turned the proverbial corner and will be a playoff contender this year? Excuse me, I'm going to go light myself on fire now...
  3. Were they running through the wall for him last year when he once again went 3-13 (oh yeah and one tie)...? Seems flimsy. If our guys won't do the same, then we either need different guys or different coaches... probably both
  4. @KDawg You mentioned more than once in the game thread that "the Lions are just good"... and that we should just accept the fact that they are a better and more talented team than we are. Is that really your honest opinion? The same Lions that have won like 6 games in the past 3 years and gave up 38 points to Philly last week less than halfway through the third quarter... ? They are just more talented than Washington? It's that simple? With two starting OL-men and a starting cornerback out today? I respect the hell out of your posts and knowledge but I'm having a hard time with this one...
  5. But on a positive note, the two QB's we passed up on for Chase Young have both looked phenomenal so far this year... Tua now has 6 TD's against the vaunted Ravens defense today...
  6. Green. Lot of green. But... I will be there with my son and we'll be sporting REDSKINS gear (not Commanders or WTF gear)...
  7. Good thing Goff is a bottom 5 qb in the league... anyone else would have feasted there
  8. Hooray, it's the Toilet Bowl! We stink less (a little bit) than the Lions for the past two decades! #HTTC
  9. Could Shaka Toney be that guy? I feel like he could, if given a legit chance...
  10. @KDawg I'm totally down to defer this thread to you...you've clearly made it a tradition and I don't want to step on toes.... Mods, is there a way to combine the two threads into one?
  11. Okay. Upon further review, I will agree that Trevon Walker (the overall number pick in this past year's draft, btw), did make an exceptional play on that pick. BUT, I also will say that Wentz should have NEVER, ever thrown that ball in that situation. Even if he would have completed it, it would have been at best a 2-3 yard gain. Risk vs. Reward... that has always been Carson's biggest issue. I'm hopeful (but not exactly optimistic) that he can clean up that aspect of his game and focus more on the four nasty TD's he threw to Samuel, Terry, and Dotson. As well as the numerous completions to Gibson, McKissick, and Logan T) Overall, I'm more optimistic than I've been since the RG3 days...
  12. Well... I guess we shouldn't be too surprised about the game today... we got the very good Carson (4TD's, 300+ yards), and the bad Carson (including possibly the worst, ugliest interception in NFL history). BUT, a win is a win is a win... and in this league, the difference between a win and a loss is usually a single play or two, or an unusual bounce. So, given the recent history of this franchise, I'll take it. All day, every day. Going to be very interesting to see how the Detroit game goes next Sunday, seeing that they gave the "exulted Super Bowl-contending" Eagles all they could handle today.
  13. Hallelujah... holy "crap"... where's the Tylenol
  14. Go ahead and put Howell in now… best case, he seems decent and we only lose a 3rd rounder instead of a 2nd for the Carson trade. And maybe we go 1-16 and can draft Stroud next April.
  15. SOOOO glad we used the 19th overall pick last year on Jamin Davis… well done FO
  16. That take is about as bold as vegetable lasagna… 😀
  17. Damn I hope Slye can become a dependable, clutch kicker... I don't have any fingernails left after the past 6+ years of cringing every time Hopkins came in to attempt even kicks under 45 yards... It must be nice to be a fan of a team with a straight money kicker... I clearly wouldn't know...
  18. Yes I saw that, just keeping the seat warm until then... always love these threads...
  19. C'mon, it absolutely needs to happen. Bad mojo if it doesn't. And I'm sure that @Dan T. will resume his lordship of this thread when he is able... but here goes... Trevor Lawrence The switched-at-birth fourth member of 90's douchebag boy-band Hanson
