  1. What is the point of Mitch Trubisky or Mariota ? To win one more game? And then be further away from a potential savior QB next offseason? what is the point of any of this any more? Lol. franchise is literally dead. Rebrand was uninspiring at best. You’re looking to build your next stadium in bum **** Virginia (no offense). You’re so desperate for new season ticket holders that you’re parading them on social media like they just cured covid. And who is under center for the first snap of Commanders football? Mitch ****ing Trubisky???! What is the point ? Im ranting at this point so i apologize but I’m listening to Mayhew’s PC and the media (doing their jobs of course) are asking multiple questions about Landon ****ing Collins’ contract. A glorified linebacker with zero coverage ability. He’ll have minimal impact on wins and losses whether he plays here or not. I get it is Mayhew’s job to care but in the grand scheme, wtf cares? QB is literally all that matters. You can nail the Collins thing perfectly and it will have no bearing on how your career in DC turns out. Im not criticizing the FO for this of course but I just personally can’t shake how inconsequential all the other roster decisions are in comparison to the QB. And I can’t understand how ppl can sit here and still debate that stuff
  2. I can’t muster the energy to discuss any about this team if they’re trotting out a Trubisky or Heinicke and especially if there is no rookie to go with them. Like are we really gonna spend hours debating Jamin Davis and Cam Sims and ancillary issues like that? I just don’t care. Will the defense bounce back? Who cares? If they do, maybe they squeak it to the wildcard round and get sacrificed by a 1 seed. Until the QB is (seemingly) solved, all of the other stuff seems like a big waste of time. Especially when we’ve watched the movie 30+ times at this point.
  3. I honestly feel bad for him. He’s too good for this sorry ass franchise.
  4. We have a philosophical disagreement so we won’t see eye to eye. The data is pretty steadfast. Defense fluctuates year over year regardless of talent. It’s just too hard to play consistent good defense in this league. Again, there are plenty of data points available across the web. Us and Denver are the latest examples. Rams defense has regressed as well. To make it worse, we invested mainly in DL instead of the smarter way, which would be your DBs. As you’ve seen almost every week, opponents simply chip Chase with an extra blocker or just get rid of the ball quickly and it complete negates our perceived strength. So yes, I’m more than willing to sacrifice that specific talent because it isn’t as valuable and is much more volatile than a good QB. Chase Young and Montez Sweat can go to multiple Pro Bowls and still add less value than a Derek Carr type QB for example. That’s the league we currently operate in. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-the-nfl-cant-rely-on-defense/amp/ Now would I trade them for anything ? No. But if trading them is a part of my plan of getting a good QB AND restocking my draft capital, hell yes. It’s a no brainer. Not a perfect example because the Raiders are horrible at drafting but you think they really truly miss Khalil Mack all that much?
  5. “Strength of our defense” lol. Two issues with that: 1) they are are a strength in the same sense that simply being a sentient, living being is technically a strength for Taylor Heinicke 2) I really don’t care. In the modern NFL, I’d do anything to get an elite QB. DLinemen are inconsequential in comparison. Giving them all big contracts is worse asset management than trading your next 3 drafts for Rodgers or Wilson.
  6. Who cares? If you’re trading for Rodgers, you’re trying to win in the next 2-3 years. Also, you can always acquire more picks. Maybe trade some of these vaunted Dlinemen? You can’t pay them all. Regardless, i wouldn’t be concerned. The Rams and Saints literally pull cap gymnastics and draft solid players in less than ideal draft positions out of their asses every year. Why can’t we? (The answer is bc we’re WFT of course but you get my point)
  7. Elite QBs make mediocre rosters look good each and every Sunday. Rodgers, Wilson, and until recently Brees have all dragged mediocre rosters and players to prominence for years. Now we’re the WFT so nothing could ever make a serious franchise but in normal cases for normal franchises, an elite Qb like Rodgers would have us at 5-2 or 4-3 easily. Tampa has pretty much the same roster they had when they sucked with Jameis…they get Brady and look what happens. The QB definitely can make that difference. If Rodgers ever considered us (out of pity of course), if you weren’t interested, I’d question your football knowledge.
  8. Sick of tired of needing 4-5 position upgrades every single year. I’ve been reading this on ES since i first joined in 2009. The whole thing is so tired. Why do we still care? Lol. We’ll be posting the same thing 3 years from now.
  9. Defense fluctuates year over year (which is why you shouldn’t build that way but that’s another story). They’ll probably end up middle of the pack this year and maybe get back to good next season. Just can’t rely on defense in today’s league.
  10. I liked Kirk but that was the only game on the list with real stakes and he wasted a chance at points. It was embarrassing.
  11. ….he went from “intriguing” to “ass” pretty quickly. That interception was nothing more than not having the necessary arm strength to play in this league. I can’t get to invested in the debate one way or the other because the idea of him starting games is bordering on the third string JV QB try to play varsity but I think it’s pretty clear he stinks. Even the “exciting” plays are few and far between now. Just a lot of “what the hell” throws. At least Kyle Allen looks different so there’s that.
  12. I’m sure he’ll be a decent player eventually but to justify going #2 you have to be more Myles Garrett and less Brian Orakpo. Not a bad player but not a difference maker and that alone makes the pick look iffy on hindsight. Extremely disappointing but again, that’s pretty on brand for this franchise. It’s our fault for buying into the hype.
  13. There’s no way he’s better than Fitzpatrick. That’s a joke. Fitzpatrick has been a starter in the league for years. Heinicke will be lucky to start 2+ games in a season again after this year.
  14. It’ll never work out long term here. No need to waste our time. Always be a fan but enjoy the NFL as a whole. This team will never be truly good and we have 20+ years of data to back it up.
  15. McClain has already reported Watson is likely headed to Miami. I can’t imagine Miami would do this without assurance Watson can play immediately and in that case, there’s no way they keep Tu’a around. I have a theory that there’s always a little truth in every sports rumor so I can’t imagine someone pulled WFT out of their ass. Somebody in Ashburn has interest but we just don’t know the degree yet. Since the Tu’a deal is contingent on another deal (with a ton of moving parts) getting agreed to, I can see why WFT would deny interest until they know for sure everything is going smooth between Houston, Miami, and the league.
  16. Agree on JP. I like him but his sources aren’t great. Most big team stories are broken by national outlets. I honestly think the Tu’a thing has legs. But still, that was sobering to read.
  17. There’s not gonna be a fanbase period if that article is true. even if it’s bull****, the idea of a Mitchell Trubisky is unfathomable
  18. If you all weren’t depressed enough about the state of this franchise…my god this article JP just posted
  19. I have no energy to debate coach firings anymore. It’s all so boring. It’s the same damn cycle every few years.
