  1. This seems to happen enough that I'm starting to get concerned. 😂 Thank you for mansplaining tug boats to me. I had no idea. Tugs assist ships with their own power. It's a lot different than changing the course of a ship that size, at that speed, in that small of an area. Those tugs weren't stopping this. *the reported speed seems to be about 8 knots which is very fast for an area like that. Maybe the wind and tide also played a role? Also, I'm hearing the ship dropped anchor right before collision.
  2. Gonna be crazy when they find Epstein hiding at Diddy's place.
  3. Yes. But my conclusions are based on experience. And I was too young and dumb to be as scared as I probably should have been.
  4. I would avoid jumping to too many conclusions regarding the ship. Yes it is certainly possible the ship had issues. But this also happened on a highly-maintained, billion dollar warship. So there's that. The tug wasn't stopping that.
  5. Way-too-early prediction time. The ship suffered a 'main bus one' casualty. That's essentially the circuit board for the entire ship. Either a fire that caused a malfunction or vice versa. You see power kick back on and the plum of smoke. That's the ship kicking over to 'main bus two', essentially the backup electric system and everything kicking back on. The fire/casualty took out bus two which is where you see the power go out a second time. The ship is essentially dead at that point. This exact thing happened when I was on the Chancellorsville. Luckily we were in the middle of the Pacific ocean so there wasn't much to hit. But we just floated for a couple days. No power except emergency battery operated lights around the ship. We slept on the flight deck at night because it was so hot.
  6. I don't know how to link video from FB but there's video that shows ship losing power twice and a plum of black smoke that I'm sure was from the engines being thrown full throttle.
  7. It's called a "pilot" and local reports are that yes, the pilot was on the ship.
  8. I woke up about 0530 and saw this on the news. We can see the bridge from our roof deck. My mom was visiting the other day and we were showing her the view. Definitely not what I was expecting to wake up to this morning.
  9. I really wanted that exact same speech but to be done with the original interpreter doing it. Like completely straight face just translating the words with no hint of irony.
  10. Yea. It wasn't actually a random thought. But......well, indica has been involved.
  11. After all the talk in here, we watched the original and then the new Roadhouse yesterday. The OG was dumb and hokey but enjoyable. The new version sucked. The story line sucked. It all sucked.
