  1. All of these games going our way the last 2 weeks has me pretty excited. Happy to see games next week that will really matter to us, this will be a lot of fun. Gotta hope New Orleans takes care of business at home. I never thought we'd get to 2, I was going to try to convince myself on Daniels but the guy I really want is Drake Maye because the Bears have to take Williams. If the FO prefers Daniels I'll respect their knowledge,, regardless draft day is going to be awesome.
  2. Well we now pick 4th so obviously rooting for Dallas to win was not right.
  3. Personally I hate what NIL has done to college football. It was always dominated by the same dozen programs but now the gap will be so much larger as those are the schools with the most NIL money. Unlike the NFL a Wake Forrest fan has zero belief that his team will ever compete in the college playoffs. But the one thing it does do is as you say it keeps good players in school, which is also good for the NFL.
  4. If you trade Allen for a 2nd you are not opening a huge hole on the DL
  5. I am pretty convinced the Bears try to end their 40 year search for a franchise QB and select Williams, I don't believe we should be discussing a player the Commanders won't be able to obtain. I'm also convinced Arizona can not afford to pass on a talent like Harrison and will pull the trigger. Pats and Commanders take Maye and Daniels, which is which TBD.
  6. I am so tired of Griffin's injury as seen as the only reason he failed. He failed because he failed to learn to play the position. I clearly remember a pic in the Post of Griffin standing in a clean pocket with 5 open receivers circled. The caption read: "Griffin took a sack on this play. I have no idea why". It had nothing to do with the injury.
  7. I read a number of profiles that questioned Daniels accuracy on short and intermediate throws, one also stated he lacks the velocity to make the tough throws. For what it's worth. I really appreciate these updates, I take a pic of my screen and reference it as I watch Red Zone. As we have found it's hard to root for bad teams because, well the results usually don't go in your favor. But we've gotten lucky these last few weeks. I still can't believe New England won in Denver.
  8. Let me rephrase my position. I want a QB who is very accurate on all throws, if he can run that's a bonus. I see Daniels' strength as his mobility. He is very accurate on deep throws, as was RGIII, but not so much on other throws and lacks the velocity to fit it into tight windows. That concerns me.
  9. I prefer Maye to Daniels, not a big fan of run first QBs. So...who are we rooting for in these last games? Niners to lose is all I can come up with.
  10. They were forced to do it based on the big contracts for the DTs but I always believed the Sweat trade will backfire. Not much chance the pick gets a better player regardless of position, FA edges are too expensive and this will be a hole for a while I'm afraid. I am not onboard with the idea of trading Terry. He is the only legit WR they have on the roster.
  11. That breakdown above is hard to argue with. I keep wondering what good coaches could do to this underperforming roster.
  12. I could not find the post to quote it but I disagree that every franchise QB is made and not found. If SF "made" Brock Purdy then why didn't they make Trey Lance after investing so much into him? Now clearly the environment is huge, I think we all agree Purdy would not be having such success in Washington. But CJ Stroud is playing well not only because of his coaching, he surely did not go to a good situation. He is playing well because some guys that are drafted are actual franchise QBs while most will never be franchise QBs. The trick to identify the right one which is nearly impossible.
  13. I just never heard anyone say he looked physically tired in his previous game, so it's hard to imagine that set in after a week off is all I'm saying. i have no doubt the season, especially a season like this, is a grind. I do believe such a long season full of hits has taken it's toll. But no I do not believe throwing across his body into coverage or flat out missing throws is because his arm is tired.
  14. No the poster I quoted said he was physically tired, used running a marathon 2 days after a 100 mile run as an analogy. To me he looks more frustrated than physically tired. His head is down because they are losing badly and he is playing poorly is my thought.
  15. I am optimistic because, unlike college football, we see teams rise from the ashes and become good quickly every season. Detroit, Jacksonville (outside of a few years), before that the Bengals and Browns were doormats for decades and now all these teams are in the playoff hunt. .
  16. I have not seen every play, I can only see what they show on Red Zone or when they play in prime time including last night. But I have seen him a fair amount and to be honest I have no idea how you can claim today, right now, that Trevor Lawrence is one of the stars in the league. His stats certainly don't reflect that, I have never heard or read anyone who has this take on Lawrence.
  17. Is he shell shocked from all the hits? I can totally buy that. But to say he is tired, physically or mentally, after a bye week is something I can't buy.
  18. Playing QB once a week is not like running marathon. And he sure did not have to do it 2 days after running 100 miles. He had a week off. I have no doubt he is beat up but his physical health is no excuse for being wildly inaccurate and making bad decisions.
  19. Not to mention trotting him out there week after week months after he should have been released. F Ron Rivera.
  20. There have been countless young QBs who have shown flashes to get their fans excited. Very few have developed into franchise QBs. Howell has regressed. Big time. I don't think it's fair to call out fans for giving a take that could very well turn out to be accurate.
  21. I didn't have a problem with the Campbell pick, he looks to be a good player. And so is Gibbs obviously. But one look around the league shows that you can find good running backs later in the draft and it was hard for me to justify taking just about any running back in the first round. Said the same thing when the Steelers took Harris.
  22. Seeing Ron finally admit "it's time" regarding Cheesman will be how I remember him. Just total incompetence.
