  1. I woke up expecting this to be a get-right game for the Giants, and it's turning out to be exactly that. They say teams develop a personality, and our's is to be a punching bag for teams that need to get a win. Have been for many years.
  2. 18 pt deficit earlier in the game though. It all evened out and we come away with a win. Stop whining.
  3. I didn't follow the game here (actually missed most of the 1st half), but I can only imagine the doomsday comments that were probably going on when it was 21-3.
  4. Did Allen play? I wasn't looking for him because I heard he has plantar fasciitis. I figured they'd let him rest.
  5. They need to jam an apple in his mouth, put him on a spit and spray him down with some apple juice.
  6. So, we got to see the new owner in the broadcast booth, Coach Gibbs on the field before the game, and there's a better home crowd for this game than many of our regular season games in recent seasons, but have there been any Major Tuddy sightings? I'm wondering if Josh sent him off to the slaughterhouse.
  7. I can't seem to find the thread for posting about uniforms, so I guess I'll "randomly" put it here: Does anyone else miss jerseys with the numbers on the sleeves? I've noticed most teams have gone away from that traditional look. I've been watching a lot of games from the 80s on YouTube this summer, and the image of a football player from those days to today's players is like night and day. From the uniforms, to the pads, to the body styles. Something else I've noticed, which I had forgotten, was just how awesome Gibbs' special teams were back in the day.
  8. I liked the early days when he'd send his plane out to pick up high priced free agents and have them fly to DC to get signed. We used to get info on where his plane was going, and which towns it was getting spotted in. He seemed to enjoy spending on free agents like a drunken sailor. It's a shame so many of them didn't pan out.
  9. I'm a bit concerned about my lack of emotion over all this today. I've been hoping for Dan to sell for many years, and I should be uncorking some champagne right now. Is it possible that the apathy I've developed for this team (and for the NFL in general) is so deep that I can't even fully enjoy today's news? I've been watching a lot of the old glory days games on Youtube, and looking at those games, I'm realizing how far we've fallen, and how different the game, and the league, has become. I'm confident Harris is going to get to right to work trying to improve the fan experience and get back some of the old fanbase that stopped paying attention, or even started following other teams. But how long will it be before he has good football people in place to make the changes on the field that will result in a return to being a winning franchise?
  10. Good point. It's those fans who the NFL are increasingly marketing to, which is helping ruin the product on and off the field. I long for when Sundays were days when guys watched football, drank beer and hid from their families. All the commercials were for beer and motor oil.
  11. General draft coverage observation - the NFL Network commercial is so dumb. Someone says "we're one pick away from taking the South." Sorry, but I don't subscribe to any team being one college player away from suddenly being a division winner if they weren't a year earlier.
  12. Fully admitting to being one. I'm becoming more and more disillusioned with the NFL with each passing year. I just want to see football, not what the NFL thinks passes for entertainment.
  13. I'm all in for Drew Sanders. He's fast, rangy and a hard hitter. Could potentially really elevate the defense's overall efficiency.
  14. How quickly they develop a subset of fans here, with their own group name and their ability to overreact to any criticism of their favored QB.
  15. He's going to put a wire mannequin of himself in his bed to fool the guards when he tries tunneling out.
  16. Agreed. I just always keep waiting for him to catch fire, but he never does. Maybe a change of scenery would be good for him.
